What if they add 2 war bars. First side to fill wins and is based off current system. After that the dread arrays control is a gigantic robot head,but you can't get to it. Now you would fight to deactivate shield andfor bombs to help until you deactivate it. Shield would have power points located in other dread plains flags. So just break them down. After that you fight the robot head. It would be like vault wall( but stronger).After beating you have a chance to betray your side and join other. Then island shakes and you must run( cutscene). You run to frostland or barrens outpost and see the head blow up. The dread arrays move away and body is left as island. Right before blow up the head is seen transferring data to a control room to the fake baleius( shown after explosion as flash black). We see the real baelius escaping, while data is transferring to robot balius(we never have seen balius only head). We now get in a war against machines. Its revealed in creating the infernal androids, one became self aware and took over by balius. From there either help balius regain control( kind of like lesser of 2 evils) or balius and legion vs machines and exiles. I can be more in depth if needed.
