Seirously i constantly hear that mages are under powered well bountys and merc's are just good at speed thats what sets mage apart from the other two class.

Merc's have support builds(mostly 2 turn), tank builds, and strength builds(2 turn some times)) each of which can get rely fast kills. support get %90+ tanks got %95+ but strength get 60+.

Bountys have the smoke massacre 3 turn build which also gets fast kills which get above %90

Mages have the 5 focus assimilation support and 5 focus assimilation dexterity builds, which i use both i get into rounds 6 to 9 with %90.2 and %93.7 win rate thats over power to dax's standards some times but never 2 turn (except noobs)

Again im going to repeat my self but mages are not under power we just think we are cause we have get 2 or 3 turn kills.

I haven't played in a while, but mages are a pretty decent class

however............

the main problem is 5 focus BHs who literally have NO weakness and are able to defeat any type of build they face

a solution to this would be to empower mages to SOLELY defeat 5 focus BHs ...........

u mess with their energy and their build is shot i do this alot and i win against bountys quiet a bit if fact i do the same thing with merc's but bountys it hit less cause of shadow arts.

agreed i love my mage, i won 1v1 LB with her and dont seem 2 do to badly at all, im using a the celtic cleaver sword too so i cant use most of my skills, i have max deadly aim and malf, and lvl 7 reroute will be 8, and ive been beating 33s since i was lvl 28 and 32s a 27 and 31s at 26, but b4 i was lvl 26 i was doing pretty badly but not the worst start ive had, and even tho i say that i love my mage it does need some way of creating some new builds for swords, i think i put it in as a suggestion that the plasma rain be made usable with a sword, lol actually i think i might have typed malf or multy insted lmao...

Honestly I've not been having any trouble at all with any of the overused builds, and I'm using a freaking Strength build. Some mages aren't even trying to compete.

I think mages have made a great comback from the whole heal nerf thing , they have even come to the point wre they can win without having to heal in some cases but most of the time they hvae to spam support> mages have become one of the most powerful builds now with a plus 10 :o on their 33 guns, and thier abilaity to crit when u least want it eg through a shield, Mages often get at least 1 crit a game now which is why they have become as good as any other class, infact balance is not bad atm. it's just luck tht's still messed up a bit.

I do agree mages are UP but they complain way too often. Plus ED is still doing its best to balance the game.

thats the kinda the promblem we dont try to compete with their speed which is sad and why many mages switched to bounty or merc.

No not true. Mages are UPed. It has nothing to do with confidence. Their at a disadvantage.
@EDyuil Doing their best to balance the game? I will believe that when I see a good physical non varuim staff and when they remove the main weapon requirements on half of the mage skill tree. Until then I will never believe it.

Underpowered? I manage to create a 5 turn Tuna kill build as a mage and a super low hp, high dex build for george lowe without frost weapons. Why are we mages UP then?

@isaiahthemage: the only disadvantage i see is speed i still kill speed builds all the time i dont think stats or gear or anything eles effects mages more then the speed of a build.

Ok Frostlich,explain it to me as if i were a stupid 2 year old kid:what in hells name do your NPC builds matter for PvP balance?
They don't rage,don't deflect and as sure as hell they have scriptured actions. Last time i checked,name of tab is still EpicDuel PvP MMORPG
If you feel that this was personal attack on you,don't,i'm actually fed up with all snotty kids that wouldn't know balance even if it bit them on the ass.

 Mages are not UP. As of now, the first and third players on today's juggernaut leaderboard are tech mages. Mercs aren't the only ones who can dominate juggernaut. There are many good mages with effective builds. That they can create these builds indicate their genius and that the mage class still contains great potential. Unfortunately, because the mage class requires players to actually think how to craft their build, many lesser players fail to do so, lose to their opponents, and complain.

seriously dude? WTF is this, its another ratarded 5 focus build. did you ever think that people are getin sick and tired of havin to use those stupid builds. i want to be able to have a powerful succesful build that doesnt require the use of that dam bot. if you look at just about any 5focus build there only reason there any good is because of that dam bot. its getting ridiculous, we need to get away from those stupid things and atleast try to use a bit of creativity.

im not sayin that mages are weak, because we're not, but were defiantly at a bit of a disadvantage. ive tryed to address this disadvantage to the devs but they all feel like they dont need to respond to me.

 5 focus is the new balanced build. There are so many variations on this. All are useful and all rely heavily on the bot.

BH's have a fabulous variant build where they can near max shadow arts and pour points into support. They get the best many worlds with blocks/deflects/crits/bot damage/bloodlust.

Mercs have good variants as well.

While Mages don't have as many possibilities, we do have the power of tech boost. Without the bot, mages would have less choices in build making. We are a limited class at high levels. So much thought now goes into making a competitive build.

Tired of using 5 focus build... So I changed to a 121 Sup build...
won't take long before I switch class.... again

@BloodRainbow 5 Focus Builds are good and effective. They arent "retarded" or "stupid". They are very good builds. And if you wanna avoid a succesful build. Then... dont complain.

its possible for mages to get fast kills.
get a load of support (like 123) decent hp, energy armor, and a good matric (should be fine at lvl 1)
maxx out ur malf, get lvl 6-8 DA, and with energy eggzooka u do a crap load of damage.
its gonna be hard to 2 turn lvl 33s (as it is with every class and type of build) but easier for lower lvls.
basicaly u malf 50-60 tech and with the zooka doing alot of damage can easily do 50-60 damage, with the gun capable of doing 40-50 damage thats a 2-3 turn kill. and its support so u might crit alot with the malf or aux.

@BloodRainbow: well look at the pros and cons of using a robot first instead of just saying stop its pointless.

Pros: 0 energy used, good damage, both damage types.

Cons: it can be blocked.

I see gamma bot as a rely good advantage so stop, and bot is a powerful tool just use it right.
