I have been hearing about it for a while and been listening to everyone views on the subject. Some like it while others think it is a waste for time and needs to be removed. I myself enjoy giving as well as getting it from other people. But I have to ask those who post/read the forums what are your thought on the matter?

Well getting "famed" is just like getting a "like" on Facebook post....but even less useful. and i don't even like Facebook.

 The original point of fame was to get more people playing the game by spreading around character pages on social media and getting friends to fame you. This failed obviously since people do it mainly in-game or on ED only social media accounts. I'm still all for making Fame into a referral system and limiting it to emails and IPs not used in a previous character creation.

Well look at it this way when you already engage in lets say 2vs2 battles and so far you have done about 10k of them you might as well ask for fame during that whole proces. If you get one person to fame you every battle than you reached the purpose of faming. It's a win/win.

Yes some people find it annoying or as i remember this one person called it 'polluting the chat'. But how exactly are you expecting to reach 10k fame with spreading this in other ways. I can think of one that really will work very well, but nobody here is capable of doing that.

well to me fame 4 fame gets annoying at time but i kinda got used to it cause well it is so common in 2v2. well i think fame did not help ed spread as well most of us do not bother getting fame well unless u wanna win daily fame cheevo and rockstar/famous/celebrity cheevo. well i m with moose, replacing fame with a referral system would be better if they really wanted to spread ed. also really hate those people who say f4f and when we fame them they just dont fame back well that annoys me sometimes too.

Fame is right now something i rather find incomplete. Like @The ND Mallet Guy said pretty well, it needs to be restricted. And even if it the purpose was really what it really is now, then why not just add a "fame button" in game?

I got nothing against f4f. If someone asks for it, I'll do it if im in the mood, or just say "no ty" if I'm not. Really, IDK why people object to it, this is a game, if you have fun with f4f, go 4 it.

On another note I remember responding to a fame topic, and I even read one response that said they should have axed the Fame achievement and left the warlord one since the warlord was making ED money but at the same time it was completely pay to win.

No harm is done in giving or receiving fame. But yeah people that doesn't fame back are annoying.

 If you want fame, there are tricks to get bunches of it without faming back. If I wanted to, I could get about 80 fame day in about 30 minutes. I did that a couple times, but I dont find use for it. I also find it very annoying to have to listen to everyone spamming the chat log with f4f.
