when you battle in 1v1:
-You fight your opposing side
So if your an exile, you fight a legion vice versa

When you battle in 2v2:
-You have a team mate which is the same alignment you are in
Because it makes no sense fighting your own alignment.
-And you vs 2 opposing sides.

When you are in jugg:
-you vs 2 opposing sides

If you are neutral:
You face anyone


Problems
May take some time finding the correct alignment with you but this should be easy because as rabble said in a previous thread, he said that they try match you with the same level as you but after 5-10 seconds, if they don't find one, they'll give you a lower level to fight.

So I am thinking that the devs excluding Char and cindy should do the same thing trying to put the same alignment vs opposing same alignments but if the match maker doesn't find one then it is a random battle. Doesn't make sense you are fighting and exile vs an exile since you are killing your own people.

I know in wars you do legion vs exiles but i think you should do it for match making also.

Why would you kill your own people which are in the same alignment? That's stupid if you wanted to kill someone from the same alignment

This is a great idea, and it does make sense. It certainly is something that we would absolutely love to put into the game because it makes a lot more sense and it also makes things a bit more meaningful. However as you mentioned, the main issue is that it would end up taking way too long to find a battle, and it instantly cancels out approximately 40% or so of the players on the server for battles. Again though you certainly have offered a plausible fix for that issue, which could work, but there are still a few other problems that could crop up.

For example, if a player is neutral it would make sense for that check to be removed and for it simply to line them up against anyone. However this would give them an unfair advantage in daily competitions since every battle, they do not have the 5 second or so check to try and find someone of the opposite alignment. May not seem like much, but accumulated over loads of battles, could amass to quite a bit of time advantage.

You also have the issue of some people enjoying meeting people they know from the game or the forums or anything of the sort in-game, if they are of the same alignment, they are much less likely to meet.

All-in-all though, the cons are very minor and raising them is a tad petty since your fix to it certainly does account for most of the issues, it certainly is something that can be taken into consideration, however not sure how easy it would be to implement. Thanks for the suggestion!

When we were playing in the lasy war (Infernal war) unless a bug came along we were always fighting against the opposite aliment. Only difference I can see with that war as composed to this one would be the fact that NPC may not fill in the blanks like the last war.

yeah i think this could cause a problem for the upcoming war... perhaps (although i have no idea yet on how this war will work) we could give more points to the allignment that gets the kill in battle... so it would be awarded like this:

losing=5 points
losing + kill=10 points
winning a match without any kills=20 points
winning a match and 1 kill= 50 points for alignment
winning a match and getting both kills would get 100 points for your alignment.

thus your teammate can help you, but getting a kill gets more points for your alignment than just winning.
