Inventory space boost, a free travel form (Dragon Guardians), and a...honestly, mediocre class (Guardian Class is weeping for the buff it longs for), are "fine" I suppose. But honestly, there are far too few perks to qualify Guardian upgrade as "worth it". The game still has time to develop and grow, but I can not stress and emphasize enough the hope that the priority for Guardian perks isn't buried by the idea of what brings in more money with DC items.

For example - How is it that Guardians don't get to test Pirate Class for free? Why is testing Paladin/Necromancer locked off to that moglin kickstarter thing as opposed to something you'd think would be tested by Guardians?

Testing new classes tends to have always been something of a perk when it came to releases to games with this kind of style, but honestly, this is only touching on one aspect. Why is it that Guardians don't get an advantage in the current Battleon War Event to where it costs 1000 Gold, and takes an hour to convert a Guardian Defender Token to an Elite Guardian Token with the (of course) offer to speed up the process for 50 DCs?
As far as suggestions go, allowing Guardians to test classes is only one. They should be allowed to purchase Fancy Potions for 1 Gold than DCs (Guardian Shop), Craft Timers overall cut in half for Guardians.

Just, you know, functional perks that actually empower and make it feel like being a Guardian means something, you know? I would certainly be glad to hear what others think and what ideas they may have as to the perks/benefits Guardians should have.

Have to agree on this. There really isn't much gameplay relevancy to Guardian compared to original AQ.

I have actually complained about this before, and not to the staff but the players, since it's their fault to begin with.

here, let me post it.
quote:

For all you P2W scaredypants, let an old-timer tell you a story. Back in the day, all you had were AQ DF and MQ.
in AQ, at least half of the skills of every class were Guardian only, and you couldn't visit half the map or use half the gear unless you were Guardian.
In DF, you were luck if ONLY half the skills of your favorite class were Dragonlord only, and there was less Amulet gear, but the power difference was way higher. There was also an entire quest chain only accessible if you verified as an AQ guardian.
In MQ, the versatility of mech and item builds meant star captain items were less poignant, but about half of the game was for Star Captains only. And of course there were verification shops for Df and AQ.

And you know what? We LOVED it! If you could play without a membership, you were a skilled player. We enjoyed PvPing staff members, and specially equipped players, because beating them meant we were just that good. I pretty much beat the game before I EVER laid eyes on a membership, and that's the best part! You can't pay to win on a game without an end, a way to win. You just pay for easy mode, pay for more content. You're not winning if you buy membership, you're buying a DLC, the New Game Plus.
Cut to now, and people are so afraid of lootboxes or whatever that AE is afraid to even put in a verification shop to reward longtime players, and people complain whenever they release a Dc set or pre-release a class five days early. Man, the fanbase got WEAK! it's embarrassing! If you can't get more powerful gear for Guardian or Dc's or exclusive quests and areas, why even bother paying!?
My response to the P2W people? GET GUD, SCRUBLORD!!!!!!

On the bright side, we're looking at plenty of Guardian content in the future, even if it is limited. We will have a Guardian Tower/Guardians vs. Seekers storyline, a Guardian rebalance, and several Guardian set varients, including a regional variant of original, kickstarter, and Dragon guardian for each tower.

I, personally, hope they'll add a Dragonlord faction, one with the best loot for both Guardians and free players. Basically, everything you can get from it takes Dark Souls level grinding, and is the most powerful in-game. Kind of like a Mastercraft set.
Throw in some level 10 weapons that have level 25 stats, costs 2 million good to buy, and takes a Shadowed Nightlocke weapon and another 2 mil to upgrade it every five levels (A.K.A. Doom Weapons) and hopefully they'll be to busy farming to complain every time they add more Guardian stuff, or sell more DC sets.

'cause apparently people don't realize a game is actually supposed to MAKE money on occasion....

First, making areas in AQ3D is more expensive than in AQ classic, so there won't be nearly as much Guardian exclusive content.
Second, premium currencies are a renewable income source that create better long term profits. Expect to see more DC stuff, similar to Z-token items in AQ classic or AC items in AQW being everywhere.
