In this screenshot, how did the poster above myself get the post to match perfect length for his message.
e.g without all the grey space underneath his message like mine underneath?

Legendary AdventureGuide!

He simply typed so much. Your name, title and avatar take a fixed amount of space and as such always have a minimum width.
If you type more then the minimum space, it goes longer.
