The vastness of the overworld is exceeded only by the mystery that it holds within.
It took some time before they arrived, we heard stories from people fleeing to safety before we laid eyes on the horrors that our world faced. To the east past the great sinkholes that protect our land and just north of the ancient tree house, sat a small village in a clearing near a lake; the people who lived here feared little, they were so far from civilization that the politics of solace and the larger kingdoms never really reached them, they only needed to fear mother nature herself. In a small home on the outskirts of town lived a small family of farmers a, a husband and wife and there teenage son, Together they helped provide food for the town. There sons name was Nick, he wasn't the strongest person but he was smart, not just smart, crazy smart, it was unfortunate he was born where he was, if he had been born in a bigger city he would have excelled, but working on a farm he rarely had the chance to let his intelligence show. When he was 16 Nick was in a horrible accident, while tending to the fields he cut him self with the wheat harvesting scythe, which usually wouldn't have been a big deal, but the wound got infected which lead to a medic having to amputate his arm. This spelled the end of his time working the fields with his parents. For the next couple of months Nick sat in his room caught in a deep depression, his world ended, he felt as if he had no use in life. Then upon the death of his mother, he knew, knew that he had to find a way to help his father or it would be his funeral next. so for the next few weeks Nick locked himself in his room using his vast intellect to craft, when his father would pear into his room, he would see gears, wires, and pistons scattered across the room. After nearly a month of tinkering and experimenting Nick emerged from his room with a mechanical arm to replace the arm he had lost, from his elbow down to the tips of his right hand, it was 100% machine. Nick covered his eyes as he stepped out into the bright sun. Thinking he'd see the familiar sight of his father tending to the crops, he gazed in horror. Over the hill in the direction of town dark smoke black as night filled the air, and Nick could see lightning striking the town. He hurried to town, he stood atop the highest hill looking down at the town and it was in flames, villagers ran for there lives as robed creatures with black skin and glowing blue eyes shot lightning from a far. One being stood out above the rest, with skin as white as snow, and blood tribal tattoos, he stood above all of the other creatures, it was clear that he commanded the other creatures. Nick charged forward into the town ready to confront this unknown entity. Surprisingly Nick made it all the way to the creature with out meeting a single creature. "HEY YOU, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUT NO ONE HURTS MY TOWN", yelled Nick, the creature turned his gaze to Nick and let out a laugh that would have made the dead roll over in there grave, "Weeeeee are the abysssssal army, Hail Lord Nulgath, i am a priest of the dark lord and we have come to collect the souls of this world" hissed the priest, "And we wil....."
