First off, here's a core suggestion to add to the possible utility of a support build- -NEW passive armor core: Allows you to use rage on non-offensive skills to increase its effectiveness by a %, and, in the case of a temporary buff (such as a shield or stat buff), its duration by 1 turn. Using rage on debuffs also increases their stat point reduction by an increased % of the original. I've come up with 2 different possibilities to completely overhauling support as a stat as well so that it can be more reliable or its role is more easily determined: 1: Completely modify critical hits- -Massively increases crit chance scaling with support -Maximum crit chance without cores is 80% -Mastery cores (+4% crit chance) is boosted to 5%, mark of azrael boosted to 7% -Critical hits no longer do any set bonus damage -Critical hits no longer ignore defense/resistance, unless you have the massive strike core -Massive strike core nerfed to 10% penetration, down from 15% (I don't remember the exact numbers, but I think it's currently 15%) -Critical hits now do bonus damage equal to a % of the attack's damage before calculating enemy defense/resistance. For example, if a crit does +10% damage and your strike would have done 350, it now does 350 + 35, or 385, then subtracts enemy defense/resistance from that as normal. -Critical hits give more rage than normal attacks, rather than previously giving less rage -The new %-based bonus damage on crits scales with level. The higher level you go, the higher the %. Basically, gives support builds a very reliable, weaker damage steroid rather than unpredictable nukes. Good for making 1v1 builds, and can have use in 2v2 as well. You build rage very fast which, with the passive core suggestion at the start of the OP, enables you to actually "support" your ally. If you don't like the idea of modified crits but still feel like support desperately needs an overhaul, read this suggestion: 2: Turn support into a stat that doesn't do much but support, but does this extremely well -Smokescreen scales with support -Atom smash scales with support, cooldown lowered to 2, energy cost reduced, energy drain base values lowered. Now grants rage. -Static smash scales with support, base values lowered a bit. Grants rage. -Assimilation scales with support -Battery backup base values decreased. Scales with support -Field medic has very slow support scaling -Technician increases with support -Stun grenade and plasma grenade damage increases with support. Stun chance also increases with support, at a max stun chance of 40% up from the previous 30% Essentially makes every single skill in the game which plays a support role, except for a select few, scale with support. Lots of managing of cooldowns will go into successfully using this modified type of support setup, as you do have a single form of very reliable damage: your aux. Aside from that, most of your turns should be spent supporting your 2v2 ally.
