Is hunting rares for their number still a hot goal? Imo hitting max amount of rares in character page isn't something desirable, because many players have done that already and it makes purchasing new equipment into painful procedure, especially when buying giftboxes every year.

Anyway I prefer quality over quantity, but still managing my rares can be pain. So what to do with all my ice weapons? They all are very cool weapons, but I wish to free space for other elements.
Therefore I want to know...
I'm expecting that Horo-Show gear might go rare eventually with its event. But I'm keeping its items not because I fear to miss notification about them going rare, but because I it's pretty hard to obtain. I guess I could as well just sell it.
But another question is about Harvenger and Sariel's Vigil - I expect them to go rare in future, cuz they're from "Ballyhoo's Rare Item Shops". But I'm not sure anymore if that's going to happen for how long they have been there.

I recently started to play with my secondary again after many many many years. Just realized she got a ton of super old rares like zombie form, abating armor of sensing, arc dagger, wicked breaker, ethos and logos shields, nobu emerald, and duma sunstone...
Most of these are useless and just taking space. But I just cant get rid of them because of rarity sake.

@ ss2195, started in January 2008, Cloud, playing fairly consistent. Now it is tough making decisions on what to sell so I use the portal paintings and Ballyhoo promo rare offers as "sort of" storage that can be re opened anytime since I don't have any available slots open ATM. :(

Reviving this huh? Okay, I'm gonna post in a slightly different way since my ultimate goal is an all-Rare active inventory.

Main:

Weapons: 6/7 (Missing an element atm though, may have to pick up UOKB for compression)
Armors: 4/7 (Really hoping Frozen Dragonslayer will go Rare. Deci used to be Rare... then came back :-| )
Shields: 5/7
Spells: 2/8
Pets: 7/8
Misc: 5/8 plus one seasonal

Overall, not counting no-drops:
70 Rares including two contest weapons
1 seasonal
20 non-Rares

Secondary:

Weapons: 4/7 (soon 5 assuming Star Sabers aren't permanent, 6 if Frozen DB goes as well)
Armors: 4/7
Shields: 5/7
Spells: 4/8
Pets: 7/8
Miscs: 4/8

Overall:
61 Rares
17 non-Rares

Then there's my quaternary, whose inventory is 100% Frostval Rares... ^_^

Not sure if anyone really cares about rares anymore.. I don't play this game (and haven't for quite a while) but it is fun to look at the items I amassed and how obsessed I was with them.

This is an old list of mine, as I haven't updated it as I honestly haven't kept up with what is rare past like Frostval 2010. So I probably have ~15 more than listed here. I may be one of the few in this thread with both Azru Stone Gen 1 and Gen 2.

not sure if the count is 100% accurate

26 rare weapons

14 rare armors

20 rare shields

20 rare spells

28 rare pets

and 27 rare miscs, and probably a bunch of rare paintings, might've counted too many, or too few, but you get the idea, I have a pretty crazy amount ^^ also, side note, the painting area of my house is broken, slows my web browser to a crawl whenever I try to access it, and a second note,...how much money do I have to pay AQ for expanded storage space?

I have no idea how many rares I have but it's probably top 10 in the game; at least if we only count on one character. With this new update of bolding rare items on your character page it's gonna be a lot easier for me to count exactly how many I have, which has been a problem for me over the past few years due to inactivity (so I had no idea which items had gone rare during that time). So when the new update is in place I expect a pretty hefty list of rares.

Just logged in for the first time since 2012 to see that I still remember my password. Started playing this game in 2003...17 years ago. Do people still play?? Do we still track rare items? Don't have many compared to the previous poster, but maybe a run for the earliest of the rare items?

As much as I love gushing over old rares, it pains me to know that 95% of them are completely worthless to use in actual battles.
