This will serve as the OOC thread for the Cellar Arena.

The contestants in this arena are listed below:

Pithy - andres_950 – Ice
Sorcia Masonshi - Eukara Vox – Fire
Ross - blankmaskara – Water
Nod - tommy2468 – Earth
Julianna - Jerenda – Wind
Ineria Aluriest - nield – Ice
Gavin Votheris - EmbraceTheDarkness – Light
Lear - The Extinguisher – Water

Hey Ryu, you actually linked to Lear #1. Here is Lear #2, which appears to be the latest iteration.

Same problem happens with Gavin Votheris.

I re-read that and noticed you said 3 in the cellar, thought you said 3 in the Championships

Guess I could have made it clearer. She threw the icicle at Julianna, but lined it up so that it would bounce on a mirror towards Lear if she missed.

Thanks. Hey guys, I meant to post today, but I got halfway through and hit a brick wall. I'm going to crash now, but I think I'll try to burn through this tomorrow and post early, get things cooking. :)

Edit again: For clarification, Exti, you have an icicle heading toward you (as per Andres' post) and then a Julianna. Also of note, the ranged attack is basically invisible, since it's made of wind, and you can't see the wind.

There's a post. Spent the last 6 hours lugging around boxes while trying to settle in my new dorm at the university, and spent what feels like 16 hours in a couple of planes before that. And apparently the internet here does not like IRC (or maybe the server is just down for the moment), as I can't seem to connect through any of them, so don't expect me to show up in the chat for a while.

Anyway, in case the post is not clear (and I've tried to look it over to make sure exhaustion did not muck things up), in terms of actions, after escaping the brunt of the Razor Wind, Pithy will throw her robes towards Lear, then make it billow out with a judicious application of a blizzard spell. After that, she intends to get behind Lear while he avoids / is facehugged by the flying clothing and stab him under the arm. If she can she will sparta kick him towards Julianna to keep him off-balance.

And I'm sorry for ganging up on Lear, but Pithy smells the blood.

So if I've got this right:

Julianna, Pithy and Lear are engaged in battle. With Lear positioned between Julianna and Pithy.

And a similar situation is happening with Sorcia, Nod and Ross. But with Sorcia positioned between Nod and Ross, as stone formations and water explosives on either side.

And then we have Ineria and Gavin dueling it out.

Interesting set up we have. It seems as though everyone started 1v1 but then it turned into 2v1 (without true/ actual alliances in both battles, I suspect).

I guess we'll have to see what happens. I'm interested to see how Sorcia will react, as well as whether Julianna and Pithy will get a show down o.O

That sounds fairly accurate, Tommy. If only we had one more person to gang up with Ineria on Gavin... XD

Sorry for cutting it so close with my post. It won't happen again, I swear. This week was just particularly busy.

I think I touched on everything happening in the Cellar: Gavin's light, Ross's explosions, and Nod's spell. I wasn't really able to comment on Pithy's actions for now. Let me know if I got anything wrong. And Extinguisher, if you do get kicked toward Julianna, it might be a good idea to poke me on IRC so we can collab her response and make it all flow smoothly. ^_^

Just a note that I don't think anyone will be strongly affected by the Sleeping spell thrust into the ground.
Sorcia and Ross are the closest but they have magical abilities and shoud be able to defend themselves accordingly.

The further away from Nod, the safer from the spell. Endurance, Intelligence and sheer force of will can overpower the spell. It is more of a gambit to see who has the magical powers and who can brush it aside with will power.

Saying that, the ground radiating spell is the weakest form of the spell because it reaches such a large area. A stronger full faced attack is more powerful, but still can be overcome (and Nod prefers to fight with the honour of her opponent still conscious)

I was going to wait for Eukara's post, but decided that Ross' actions warranted a fast reaction from Nod.

Also, the stone barrage is only directed towards Ross. But as with any long ranged continuous attack, if any jump in the path they will be hit and Nod will not really be able to see while spinning.

Sorry to see you go ETD, Gavin was a great character.

I guess this makes the Cellar a little scarier because now we have one fight ended and a free participant about to join the fray
