Please stop making these challenge missions. It is a waste of time and helps nothing. Lower level people who may not know what is going on will get beat by someone they don't even know. Not fun.

Most people just cheated to do these. Making an alt account to challenge over and over again with 2 game tabs open is boring and repetitive.

More searching missions would be better, or just plain pvp missions would be better to. Both of those have a purpose. Searching for things helps a person learn the area, know where people are and such. If you are having trouble finding something there is an easy fix. Check the wiki. Pvp also serve a purpose. To acquire credits and experience, and to also practice.

Challenge missions serve no purpose at all. They waste time and make the game feel boring. Especially when you need like 12 of them.



Remove challenge missions and replace it with something else. It would be much better and help the NPE (New player experience)

Actually challenge missions were made so people online could make friends in game. Also in the beginning Challenge missions did give rewards. However as you pointed out due to people using these to cheat they removed the rewards from them.

Also you have to remember a lot of those missions are very old. Some were made about at least 2 phases ago when there was a higher player base.

However as for removing them completely not supported. Lowering the requirements of challenges of old and recent missions yes, but removing them I can't support.

I think it'd be easier to make friends playing in a 2v2 or in a 1v1 not challenging someone who is a lower level just so you can beat them. Thats not a very sound way to make friends. I do understand what you mean though.

I'm in favor of reducing the amount of these missions or how many challenges you need to do it. I think anything more then 5 is crazy. Takes way to much time if you're trying to do it legitimately, and is very annoying and boring even if you're doing it the non legitimate way.

EDIT: Or remove all challenge missions from the daily. That would be amazing.

As long as they're not like the questline, "battle the best". In total, you need 36 challenge wins. That would take almost a day for me, with the low player-base and half the time no one accepting it.

Maybe one mission for challenge wins a questline, but definitely not three.

Challange missions just encourage people to log in a lvl 1 alt and use that, noone does it with friends or with other players anyways, it s a waste of time and only encourages people to breake the rules.

@TheRandomeGuyYouSee Exactly my point. 36 challenge missions is crazy. There is probably somewhere around 70-100 in the game total, maybe more. Way way to much.


@Kosmo Yep, complete waste of time. Could be time spent pvping.

 Older missions won't get removed, the challenge part that is. Whether they will get tweaked to have lower requirement, I also don't know. But they will be made if the story makes sense to have a challenge fight or two included, rather than players "disliking" the concept of these missions. We can take into account that a high amount of them won't be liked by many players (i.e. Battle the Best), but putting a halt to them won't be done either, because this only limits the options in terms of the story and possible objectives.

@Trans So what if it limits options in terms of the story and possible objectives. I'd rather have less options then a bunch of challenge missions being the option. Besides, if you replaced some challenge missions with pvp, it wouldnt change the story around at all.

I'm all for less of them, especially if removing them would be to difficult.

 Considering I'm one of the people who writes the missions, yes, it does matter if it limits the story in one way or another. They will not be removed entirely, nor halted. Requirements can be set low instead (with rewards also adjusted) to compensate for it.

What about for the daily? Can challenge missions be removed from that?

 I'm afraid not. If anyone still remembers, Dailies actually had much higher requirement for challenges, which was then lowered to compensate for the fact the rewards are fairly low - and it was around 10 challenge battles at that - so I doubt they will be changed again. As a matter of a fact, it's outside of my control. Guest Writers focus on the future content, as opposed to tweaking the past one.

Darn. Ah well, even if they lowered the current challenge missions i'd be happy. New players would enjoy the game a lot more.
