There has been a couple of threads recently, mentioning the Hunt Missions, and how players have enjoyed them. They work on the same basis as regional wars + bombs, but instead of using them, you collect them for the missions.
Right now, I am looking for some feedback regarding these, for future reference.

  • Misc. items count towards your inventory space. If there were multiple Hunt Missions, and say four different drops required (and 5-10 of each) - how would you feel about being temporarily unable Yo buy any item?
  • With the mission log, we cannot place Missions randomly but sort them into chains. If we had multiple drops required, it would have go be a chain. Therefore, would you be okay with being unable to turn in item drops from Mission #3, because you don't have the ones required for the previous two? Take inventory space into account.
  • How about the chance to drop and the quantity? Would you rather the quantity required was lower, but also lower chance to drop OR higher quantity and higher chance to drop? Average remains the same, whilst player preferences differ.

Ideally, drops would be sellable for the duration of a given event (most likely similar to the Bronze Arcade rewards), and then no sellback - to prevent stockpiling (or a cap would be put in place for each drop, similar to the bombs).

That's about it. I will edit if there are any other questions I can think of, that relate to the topic. Thanks!

At the time free-to-play players are extremely annoyed with mission only(not all miscellaneous items) counting towards your inventory limit. So for bullets #1-2 I doubt many players would like to deal with that. It wouldn't be a problem for me(200 inventory slots and bank slots), but I don't place myself above the entire community.

I have to ask you, do the developers have any intention of addressing the fact that mission items that can't be sold take up inventory space? I feel that if they addressed that issue bullets #1-2 wouldn't be an issue at all. I would really like to see them do something about it because I feel bad for the f2p players who have to sell items just to get new ones because of those mission items in their inventory.

For the last bullet, I really don't care. Either way like you said the average would remain the same and if a drop is required for a mission you have no choice but to play until you get it(if time permits).

This was a good post because it definitely did address some of the problems players are facing with the current mission/event system. I hope my opinion helps if that's worth anything.

    @ Variation

I am also annoyed with these and I have spent Varium to increase item space. While I completed every mission that had temp items I still find this annoying because even with extra space it still takes up space.

    @ Trans

I have to agree with Variation on this one because even with the banks giving extra inventory space these missions sometimes force players to sell items just to hold the missions ones. The extra space given and bank items put in at the cost of unlimited inventory space was a nuclear missile below the belt for free to play as well as former varium players who don't buy the stuff anymore.

For the final one I would like to see drops outside of mission one put back into PVP. That did make players back in the old days happy especially if they needed a little pocket change.

Would be nice to have pvp drops back.
As for hunt missions im ok with them i just question why cant they just not count toward inventory space? since they are quest item. or we need a quest item inventory

Shoot me a PM with items that currently cannot be sold nor have a purpose (nor had one for a while). I'll forward the list to the Devs and see what can be done.

If the Hunt Missions were to be released again, the Misc items would be sellable throughout the entire event. They'd be useless past it, so. It also gives these drops back into PvP, even if temporarily, because the events can be repeated and hunt missions released alongside story - albeit a bit more tricky (refer to mission log, second bulletpoint).

Also, let's keep it strictly to Hunt Missions, since it's an idea we'd like to repeat but inventory space is one of the things which is stopping us, as well as the points I've mentioned regarding it.

As of to why Misc. items take space - those who stockpiled items in the past, such as Infernal Gems, had even hundreds of those. Multiply that by a fair amount of players, and you see database space taken by junk. Separate inventory for these is one of the solutions, especially if capped at a reasonable amount (hunts being temporary events, they'd not justify the need to have a lot of these slots because you could just sell them or turn in for specific missions).

I'm no expert coder, but wouldn't it be possible to make a Mission Items category that doesn't count towards inventory space? Then again, I guess it could still be abused since some mission items can be bought from a store. Unless the buyable items get put into current Misc items. Personally I have no qualms against Hunt Missions because I have the inventory space for them. But new players only start with 10 spaces IIRC. 3 of which are guaranteed taken because of the starter items.

There is also the free Bank, which bumps it up to 20 slots. Starter weapon can be removed after L10, just not the Basic Armor. Not sure how mission drops work if stored in the bank.

The above is the reason why lower drop chance but lower amount vs. higher chance and higher amount, question was asked. :p

@ND Mallet: There is an even better solution to prevent abuse. Have the items that have a sell permission set to where they can't be sold(mainly the mission miscellaneous items) don't count to your inventory limit. The only small issue with that is that Arcade Tokens currently have that sell permission, but the developers can very well remove it if they would see that as an issue. The PvP drop items should be sellable anyways as Trans pointed out, so I see no issue with those.

EDIT: Here are some of the items that currently take up space, but aren't sellable,
Old Fortune City Key, Dark Heart Key, Platinum Pulverizer, and Carrots. All of the find missions items have a sell perm set to them as well and I can see why the developers added it to them. Security issues would arise if the sell perm was removed from the find mission items.
