What if critical strikes were highly frequent say around 20-50% chance however the Armour ignoring amount was really low say Starts at 5%.

Then support can instead of increasing the chance to crit, it instead increased the damage critical strikes deal.

What will this do?

It means firstly builds that spec into support will get a significant bonus that is less luck related.

-Because Crit will become a frequent thing speccing into support will give a significant damage advanatge that will be more exclusive to those who use support.
-Support will become a thing builds will need to use to counter high defenses rather then something rather insignificant to have unless you spam it.
-Lowers the impact of luck slightly but keeps the RNG element, instead Luck will be more fair rather then the rare game changing bonus it is now.

You could do this, and then make different weapons have some variance. Some weapons have high damage low crit chance, some have low damage high crit chance, some are in between.
This seems like a good way to really improve the feel of combat.

Honestly, i feel like they need to introduce more RPG elements into the game as well, like weapons having different stat scalings from each other, but i feel like they don't want to add things like that.

@ Xendran

Problem is that if they wanted to do that they would have never made all weapons the same minus the cores. Before Omega while this wasn't in game at least weapons varied from outside their looks.

I say let support increase the % you crit and the ignored dmg % altogether. Its really time that we buff support by at least lowering the aux cool down or increasing critical %

The aux has a higher cool down because it's damage output is higher than the side arm. If you want to lower the cooldown you will have to nerf the aux's power output to compensate.

Also support already got a buff in the form of the rage change they made. High strength builds that don't use support now ignore even less defenses when they rage where as a higher support player can do more damage with their rage due to their higher support.

If that isn't a buff to support I don't know what is.

Is support increasing % defense ignored on critical aswell? If it's not, maybe it should, to work similar to rage. This way:

Support:
- Increases % chance for a critical hit
- Increases % ignoring defense/resistance on a critical hit

Also decreasing a little defense ignoring on people with low support, just like they did to rage.

For example:

Let's pretend critical hits currently ignore 30% defenses for every crit, no matter your support.
- Change it to 20% ignoring, increasing 1% for each 6 support.
- Make it go UP to 40% ignored (120 support)

I would agree if this wouldn't cause support and rage to once again become overpowered.

Especially with people who have the infernal intridictor staff. That would mean at max they would not only ignore 55% of your defenses, but when they crit they would ignore have of what you have left with rage.

Meaning 55% (before the crit) and 50% of the 45% (if you have the infernal intridictior since it add 10% more ignoring power to crits) that is left after you crit which is 22.5% with the crit. being able to ignore 77.5% of all damage with one attack if you crit with rage? Very unbalanced with the in infernal intridictor

but even without it this would still be unbalanced for rage and high support. It would mean 68% of all defenses would be ignored if I were to manage to crit without the weapon. Not a good combination.

I was more thinking that rather then working off the total amount of support.

Instead it is calculated by the difference of support between the attacker and the player getting attacked.

Therefore say you are a support spammer and you crit against a focus build with average support the defense ignored would merely be a slightly above average amount perhaps around 20% (compared to the really small amount if the support of each opponent is the same ~10%)

But, say you are a support spammer and you crit against someone with low support (A strength or dex spam build) then the armor ignored would be reasonably high around 30-40%

Support will in turn become an anti Str/dex/tech/hp spam and tank counter.

Giving support the means to be always useful.

Things to consider is that the base armor ignoring on crits is really low almost un-noticable, but much more frequent.
To get a significant damage advanatge from crits you would have to invest into support and your opponenet must have low support.

Also note that this means things that reduce support such as the omega core and the curse cores will become significant counter to support builds as it will also reduce the damage their crits do.
