Heal could be improved by support... This would is what was supports core originally and without it support feels kind of empty. Also support is in most cases weaker than strenght.

Battery backup could work on the amount of MAX energy you have because noone invests in high energy this could solve the problem.

I love the battery back up change idea,


In a way it will be the first skill to improve with energy.

Brilliant.


Perhaps they could even use this logic for some other skills that don't improve with anything, such as static charge, assimilation, plasma grenade.


This way they can lower the amount these skills do with base energy and encourage energy investment.



This is one of the smartest and simple idea I have seen in a while.

Static Charge does improve with support
Assimilation improves with Strength (Even if it is an absurd amount)

However even with this idea many don't bother investing for two reasons

1) Base energy is high
2) BM energy parasite

I should perhaps lower the base as well.


Also they need to make a counter for not just energy parasite but all negative over time effects which could specifically exclude stat debuffs and poisons.

This would include: Energy parasite, frost shards, hatching rush, and even mark of blood etc.

Make battery backup like field medic where it restores energy DoT effects like frostbite and energy parasite. To compensate so that other energy drains aren't left behind in the process:

-Static smash drains a % of the target's current rage and adds it to the Merc's
-Static grenade restores 10% more energy and silences energy-drain moves on the hit target for 1 turn
-Assimilation's drain amount (and therefore the recovery will increase at 1/2 the rate of the drain) is increased by 1% for each 1% of the user's missing energy
-Atom smasher drains 1% more energy for each 1% of energy the target still has
-EMP grenade also adds a secondary DoT drain after the initial drain is applied, removing an additional 1/3 of the energy the initial drain stole over the course of 3 turns
-Static charge scales a bit faster with support and makes energy drains 50% less effective on the user for the next 2 turns

These skills are already, must have spammed skills.

The only thing limiting the use of these skills in combat is their CD. This needs to change, their needs to be other intensive to use other skills rather then these when they are off cooldown. It has already led to boring and predictable gameplay.


Your suggestion could be possible if they are given a cost.


Personally I think they need a cost even now, such as Stamina points which I know you are aware of :)


People mistakenly think that adding a cost will just be like another cool down. It's definitely not just this, if their is a cost it would also impact the players future moves so they have to think about what using a move now with a cost will have on other future moves (perhaps it may be better to not use a move if it means the cost is too big and prevents other moves later on), and this right here is how strategy and exiting game-play is made.
