probably the only reason to this not be unlimited is because many players would feel cheated in the war, especially the f2p players. but honestly could be better if it became unlimited and more players spent varium, then made the new cores releases for credits, what is you thoughts about this?

Agreed. 100% support unlimited ammo depot items.

I don't support this idea in the least for that reason. Not only for that reason but many players don't like the idea of losing because one side is able to buy the war. I remember all the cries of foul when Legion lost and their reasoning was because "Exile has the biggest spenders on their side and they are buying the war."

Not only would this make F2P even more upset because then they would literally have 0% chance of winning any of the war cheevo's but the losing side will scream foul if the other side has big spenders and they lose because of it.

hey I support, sounds like a great idea to me. wars would move faster, devs will get more money, bigger releases, bigger updates

Actually faster wars could be smaller updates.

We use the wars as periods of time we can craft pieces for the large updates we have planned instead of having to work with smaller update filler stuff during the war.

However going a full P2W model on wars would either promote more sales or turn off even more players so we are dealing with a double edged sword their. Given the history of ED I would say it is more likely to promote sales because P2W works but it also upsets the vocal minority

True, however if the ED Team utilizes the sale for bigger and better updates, periodically, then I think that even the f2w players would be satisfied.

I may be speaking out of turn here but just from observation I don't think higher sales would lead to bigger updates. If you look at the number of super bombs bought across all the Dread War 2.0 events and the massive amounts of money the players dropped on gifts and gift codes wouldn't we have already seen this money put towards better updates?

Then again you guys probably see things like Waves of wrath and Frozen Fury as bigger and better updates where I just see them as the guests and dev's digging in to make something we all thought would be really cool. So that is really just a matter of perspective

Not supported for the same reasons as Mother1 has stated.
Just to add up:
The game's main feature, which is PVP, will be a secondary way to win the war, that's if we consider it as a "Way" to win the war.
Spending varium is strong factor, it even decides who will win the war, it's not enough for you?

Well nIghtwraith specifically tweeted that "The benchmark for a financially successful game is making enough money to fund the next project." and ED has sure made a ton of money from Gifts, Codes, and war itself.

I think we can really hope to see better updates if this were implemented

There is a thin line between making money out of the game and destroying the game.
Satisfy one category, the other will leave, I think you know what I'm talking about.

I think we should acknowledge something, many games out there made it thanks to their vast player base. The game should pomp some money is an old saying. Internet has changed with advertising.

the pvp never will be the socondary way to win the war, the varium players aparently don't inflict even 10% of total influence in the war. also now with the objetives with big health points their influence seems even smaller. for the f2p players is far better have an p2w in the war than p2w in the pvp (with gears exclusive for varium).

@dfo99:
Have a short glance in the leaderboards. See if there are some familiar names. Let me know what you can see.

Above:
I won't turn this into a P2W vs F2P thread because I think my last reply was pretty clear and probably you are playing one of those games.

@ dfo99

The fact that you can bypass PVP battle in a game where battle is the core element in any shape or form makes it secondary. It also means that the war 2.0 system IMO is broken as well. Every event I have seen so far be it normal or war based event with the exception of one other has always had some form of battle that could not be bypass period.

The exception to this was frostland 1.0 but even with that your battles made a difference. However with this war base system battles are pointless if you don't get a drop, and you can completely bypass it if you are rich enough due to the fact that you can buy bombs.

It is because of this that many free to play as I mentioned don't bother going for any of the war cheevos because any rich person could just stockpile unlimited bombs and drop them 5 minutes before reset completely erasing 23+ hours of hard work that free to play did.

When battle which is as I said a core factor to the game is bypassed for spending money without doing battle something is very wrong.

That's what Mother1 has said in a nut shell:
http://puu.sh/f4I6l/0b14af1635.jpg

Probably that person was fighting for that 5k inf the whole day, and in the end another dude who has stock pilled bombs/signals by buying them gets to top spot in 5 minutes.

And yeah I read that buying bombs/signals won't change the result of the war, look at the LBs again and you will see what I'm talking about. There is a tight 150k inf - 200k inf between both alignements, 50k inf a day from a stock piller, won't change that? No?

mother1 and lord machar

actually the 50 bombs per hour is enough to be the champion if someone want. made it unlimited doesnot will be a new problem, just turn this problem in something useful for f2p people (maybe releasing cores equips for credits) and made the varium players happy. yesterday during the exile war rally the ammo depot items runs out near instantly, it sure made the varium guys very anger.

@ Dfo99

Still doesn't change the fact that Battles are 100% bypass able due to being able to buy bombs period. I would be more than willing to agree to this if they made where you actually had to battle to even use the war items like in Dreaded war 1.0 and make you have to do X amount battles win before being able to drop bombs again.

This would make it a lot better due to the following.

1) Battles will no longer be bypassed seeing as they will be mandatory as they should be seeing as this is a PVP game
2) While Varium players will still have an advantage the advantage won't be the equal to giving any free to play player the finger.
3) If it is done this way wars can be slowed down and due to this not only will the staff have more time in between wars for updates but their would be a much better chance for adding higher tier rewards for the more hardcore players.

4) It will remove all slackers due to money not being the supreme deciding factor in this war.

Just to add, the amount of money spent on the war will be equal.
To expand my idea, if, for example a player decided to spend 5k varium on the war, which is about 30 super war items, will give you 4.5k inf.

With the current system, he can do that in less than 5 minutes?
With a revamped system, he should be able to do it in 2 days or more. How? Simply make a cap for the number of war items you can buy in one day, when you reach that cap, you will actually have to play the game to get more war items.

Instead of spending 20k var in 5 minutes, the cap will make you spend it in 2 or 3 days. So if anyone is saying this will reduce the money spent on the game during wars, I believe not.

The idea is to fragment the influence an individual can get during one day in order to create a balanced playing environement for all and reducing the impact of what an individual can do.
