When a Rank 1 faces rank 154, only support decides who start first. Since both have same level.

Well that is wrong, ranks are now being an advantage just like levels. 1 more rank = an advantage.
I think ranks should be a factor also, the lower the rank the more chance you go first. At supreme cases, a rank 1 vs rank 60, rank 1 should always start first.

Ranks are a huge problem now, there should be means to get the game back to a more balanced place.

 Nope, not supported. Try going second against a poison tlm, a massacre build ch, or a f5 bm (without using bot specials to buy you a turn) and tell me how that works out. No matter what rank you are, first turn is crucial.

man ur just thinking about your win ... well guess what ? people want this game with a bit of fair factor here ! not based on luck ... am truly bored of this game ! all i face is tlm now ... i was tlm , got bored of it (poison , frenzy , strike , poison , spam strikes win ) wow yeah i won had a lot of fun not thinking just striking .... this game needs diversity here and fun , ed is not fun anymore ...

 I don't really agree with the OP because going first or not is really freaking huge. A level 35 can consistently beat a level 36 if the level 35 goes first most of the time when both have equal support. Given that ranks scale very slowly and don't equate to levels at all until you accumulate a ridiculous amount of them, giving a higher chance of going first to the lower rank will probably just end up with the underdogs winning way more than they should.

We should really be tackling the problem of why ranks exist rather than trying to work around a fundamentally bad system.

Ranks IIRC were made for 2 reasons.

1) Hardcore players over twitter complained about being bored and wanting more levels (which has always been content when they reach the top)
2) Players who lost their enhancements wanted a form of them back.

With these two going through consistently and the wave of suggestions being put into omega you have the ranks. A way to give hardcore players as well as everyone else a way to do something without being bored, and the power which as you pointed out doesn't sting as much as the old enhancements unless you collect a lot of them.

So they felt bad for their bored players, they had to build a new system which keeps them entertained for some amount time, on behalf of who? me?
Many players have reached rank 60, what are they going to do now? complain for more ranks? rank 120? 240? 480? 960? 2020?
Those players will keep ranking up to an infinite number, is that useful? I believe not, since all the first 60 ranks count.

So basically I deserve to belong as an underdog, as you stated @ExplodingPenguin, because I don't spend 10 hours daily in front of the game?

This once again, shows the lack of a long term vision. They improvised a new system with 0 calculations, 0 plans... with nothing basically.

Ranks have been there for so long, if you were already a high level player when ranks were implemented you could have got to rank 10 least

There are more than 100 ranks from what I saw. When I last fought comicalbiker he had well over 100 ranks.
