Hey guys. Some time ago, we have tweeted about possibly bringing back Void Shard as NPC drops, and even had a poll on it!

Here are the results of the poll:
- Yes: 96 votes (57%)
- No: 50 votes (30%)
- Don’t Mind: 22 votes (13%)


168 people have voted in the poll, from different IPs (to prevent the same person spamming one option). It is more or less an accurate sample to use when deciding whether we should bring the Void Shards back or now.


An issue popped up, however… Void Shards would share the same sellback as the shop version – which costs 25K Credits – thus making 12.5K Credits per each Shard sold. Drops from Gifting had custom sellback set, equal to 1K Credits, but this isn’t possible when it comes to drops from NPCs. We can make “Void Shard 2” but this means you cannot use the #2 version to finish the Mission, because it’s a completely different item.

However, at the same time, a possible solution is creating an alternative Mission which could use Void Essences to complete. It would be the same mission as “Endless Power” but requiring Void Essences instead of Void Shards. The only issue here is you either pay your way through (Void Shards) or farm (Void Essences). No mix and match, which is a downside to this.
Another solution that’s easily done is making the Void Shards drop from Frozen Fury Arcade, as a Silver Tier prize. The Endless Spirit is a Gold Tier prize and you only need one for the Mission, whilst you need 7 Void Shards instead to complete it, hence why Silver Tier seems appropriate here.

How would players feel about having them drop from Frozen Fury Arcade, as a Silver Tier prize? It would be there permanently, but we could still implement an alternative Mission for Void Essences (at a later date) - or maybe keep it as Arcade-only drop!? Unless you have other ideas for the Void Shard / Void Essences, then feel free to post them here! Remember, if they are brought back, they will only drop from high level NPCs / Bosses – to avoid making them too easy to farm, and devaluing the Credit option (as well as those who got it via Gifting). Thanks!

Just to clarify, the alternative Mission would still reward you The Endless Armor and give you access to the shop.

If this alternative mission would still award The Endless Armor and allow access to The Endless's Inventory then I fully support that as the arcade is rather expensive and only select missions allow rewards of arcade tokens, plus it takes quite a hefty amount of tokens to get a gold tier prize, let alone seven silver tier prizes. Also, even though the NPC/Boss drops may be rare and take some time to get enough to complete the mission, it give both free and paying players equal opportunity to complete the missions, rather the latter which is arcade, which costs Varium if you don't get extremely lucky enough to get all the items needed from the few tokens awarded from missions.

Oh yeah, you would still get access to The Endless Shop and get the Armor as the reward. Just different ways of obtaining it, if Void Essences.

What if they add the Void Essences alternative Mission and make the Essences a Silver Arcade Drop and also a Drop from NPCs?

In other words:

  • Endless Mission #1:
    • Requires 1 x The Endless Spirit
    • Requires 7 x Void Shard
      • Can only be obtained for 25K Credits each


  • Endless Mission #2:
    • Requires 1 x The Endless Spirit
    • Requires 7 x Void Essences
      • Can be obtained from Arcade (Silver Tier)
      • Rare drop from high level NPCs / Bosses


    It would probably make #2 a lot easier option, compared to #1 which wouldn't be used by many due to purchase-only option. Unless we just made #2 require more Essences to compensate - around 10, as opposed to 7. This way both options have their ups and downs. Interesting idea, however - didn't think about doing it that way.

    Not 10 but 12-15, 12 or 15 Void Essences Should make up for the 1st one but It all depends on the essences drop rate.

    Or maybe add a new Item Called Players Souls which are simply 10-20 pvp kills.

    Drop rate would probably be around 2-3% from ~L40 NPCs, and around 5% from Bosses - e.g. The Endless, Alydriah, Edgar Boothe, etc. Maybe L35 Void Creature too, but that'd be 1-2% drop rate.

    Piggybacking off what Rayman said, the "Players Soul" could be a reusable mission that gives 1 Void Shard for every 35 (adjustable to higher or lower, just giving a number) PvP kills. Although that may be hard to code so I definitely support the NPC/Boss option with it also being a prize from the arcade and just raising the amount of shard required.

    I think Player Souls is a wonderful idea. What would work on making code easy is a Sub-mission, maybe from another Frystland char. The mission would award one "Soul" (or essense or shard or whatever you like to call it) for every 30 kills (btw I think 30-35 is a great number for kills, though in that case it should remain only 7 pieces required, as 350+kills is a little demanding. 210-235 kills is a decent number, I think). Then once you have done 7 of those sub-missions, you would have 7 Souls, or Shards, or whatever, thus completeing the mission. Now if you wanted, You could even make the Endless Spirit a sub-mission, requiring...idk...100-300 kills.
    This would make the armor accessible to mid-lvl players who are great fighters and hard-core players, but arent powerful enough to beat bosses, or have enough time to earn 300k creds (approx.)

    Just a thought.

    I like the #2 option for the simple fact that with Codes moreplayers could get access to the endless shop.

    I like the idea of void essence but instead of having separate mission chain, we can make "void shards" from farming "void essence". For example, 30 void essence to make 1 void shard from Endless
    might work. Like said before, void essence can be farmed from bosses and turned into void shards by Endless.

    What you're suggesting would itself require a separate Mission chain, which would turn Essences into Shards - but instead, it'd have 7 Missions giving you a Void Shard each. Hence why a single Mission requiring Void Essences was proposed instead - because it'd only be one Mission, and do the exact same thing as using Void Shards. A lot simpler this way.

    It doesnt need a new mission chain to do that..a simple button for it in Endless would do the work.

    If that was possible, I'd not have brought it up. Unfortunately it isn't, and would have to work as a Mission.

    I agree with this because Endless armor is to expensive now I mean its 275k (and its imposible to get endless spirit from arcade trust me I tried...) It would help if we could get some of the mission item's from npc.
