Does anybody here visit it? Are any of you mods? It seems like if that was the case there would only be one post there, and it would be called "Visit the AQ forums." There is so much information accumulated here that it is basically impossible to move anywhere else, and since you are already coming here to look up information, it becomes much easier to just use the discussion boards.

They get about 2 posts a week, mostly along the lines of "Hey I haven't played in x years, what do?" Being one of those players myself, if I didn't remember these forums existed / didn't bother to check if they were still active, I wouldn't have stayed engaged with the game for long. So maybe there is to be said for increasing visibility? I think that it definitely helps coming back to the game to have an engaged community.

forum visibility is an issue that has been talked about a few times, there aren't much way of increasing it's visibility so far as i know, a link to forums was already added to the tutorial which is probably the best thing we can hope for

the reddit thing is unofficial so far as i know, so nobody on forums can make it active, there is a link to a chat there which is pretty active in case what you're looking for an AQ chat

Brasca is correct in saying that the reddit page is not official. Since AE has no control over what can be posted on reddit they don't use it as they want to keep posts on the games as close to PG as possible.

PG-13, I'd say. The forums here are strict yet have enough flexibility to speak your mind. I'm sure AQ could have an official subreddit with the same rules, it would just take mean taking man power from here to moderate over there. I'd say it's a nice place to visit, but not something the staff need to embrace.

For the forums, we aim for "family-friendly" rather than a specific rating.

I can't really speak for anyone else, but AQ is very Web 1.0. I'm not really comfortable with the whole "social media" thing (I mean, I don't even have a Facebook account D:), and I don't think that anyone else on the team is either.

Speaking as a forum mod, manpower is a problem, since we currently don't have enough people to ArchKnight the forums.

Yeah, I think it's more a "How do we redirect people to the forums" sort of thing, I can understand having to mod multiple boards on multiple sites being infeasible. Personally I don't have a reddit account either, but maybe it's time to dive in. I feel like I have absorbed enough information at this point to at least not be actively destructive, and definitely know how to post a link back here. =p

I think these forums are fine but I really wish we could have one feature that Reddit has. Is there a way to have an inbox that notified us when people "replied" to our posts? You could set it so every time someone types "@user" it registers as a reply to that user and shows up in his inbox or something like that.
