In all honesty it was a fun match, although the war rallies helped them win by getting like 20 of them it caused competition. The sad part is Exile gave up when we could have won. It was anyone's game to be honest, but hey! Congrats to Legion and be ready for next war ;)

There wasn't competition in the past because there are 20 exile players for each legion player. In the central station war, before war rally was fixed, the war ended with 5 million difference to exile. Reason? Many. Including the deactivation of war filter*, a break of 1 year letting players the chance to change to exile side (due to exiles winning most of the wars), heavy spenders, etc...

War rallies are here to keep this war system balanced. It's funny when exile players did not have 0 problem whatsoever when they won dread plains war and legions spammed the hell out of war rallies (including me earning a staggering 120k inf while chilling in CS most of the time). It's funny what ED players can do/say when it comes to war prizes.

The situation is quite clear now, want war rallies? join Legions. Want a war prize every 8 out of 10 wars? join Exiles. As simple as that.

We can't do much about this as devs have sacrificed with this cool feature to gain time to work on BB, and get ED players distracted away from complaining. War system is such a cool feature but is sadly being abused while it is broken.

*War Filter: For anyone who doesnt know what this means, it is a filter that allows, in war times, battles between cross-alignment players only, aka legions players will only face exile players.
Why was it deactivated? Due to playerbase dropping out, hence increasing the wait time. Collateral damage? Huge advantage to the alignment with bigger playerbase, in other words, and in this case, exile players playing against each other and winning the war. For more info/solutions to this, check this: War 2.0 Redux

It was deactivated because wait times went through the roof on both sides. Matches were takes 4-5 minutes to start and this was with 1 vs 1 and in some cases 5-7 for 2 vs 2. There were numerous complaints from both sides about this change and the end result was they completely undid (surpising but true) the change until it was less staggering.

Since the Legion won and got their war prize and those who haven't switched to Legion are able to switch for free or players who are able to buy Varium to switch Alignments, we'll see in the next war if that statement holds true...

I already mentioned that on my post.

The thing is, I 100% agree with the removal of war filter. I do not agree however with them not implementing any counter measures. The war rally one was in time and a needed one. And everyone who is thinking such fix is imbalanced. Well, the whole war is. Don't look at one part of it, then get butthurt about one loss due to one of many war flaws. Legions didn't whine when they repeatedly lost, to also one of the war's flaws which is war filter getting deactivated while they are outnumbered.

@SonicTbear
Well, according to 1st cycle of wars, legion side was able to pull off some wins but it has never made it to a winning streak. Sadly. But yeah, you never know.

To be honest said filter would have been perfect back in the older phases such as Alpha - Delta. If it was put in anytime between those two phases it would have been excellent. However putting said filter in when the game was at the lowest of the low when it came to players that was an error if I ever saw one.

However, I have to ask you what kind of countermeasures would you have put in besides making war rallies drop super bombs 100% of the time for the losing side?

One I can think of is what many others have been suggesting and making wars where both sides went against a common enemy

(Ebil corp war, in delta for example) This way no one can moan and whine about it being unfair due to everyone being on the same side fighting the same enemy.

As for the win record for the first round it went like this.

Exile Dread war
Exile fortune city
Exile Frostland (war rally was added in this war to aid the losing side)
Exile Overlord (Tiered prizes were added here to promote hard work instead of the simple 150 influence needed to get the final prize Legion lost by 2,456 that war due to a war rally in exile's favor)

Exile infernal mines (legion lost by 1,245 during this war)
Legion West navel
Legion Bio dome
Exile barrens
Exile Wasteland
Exile central station

Legion for the first cycle only got 2 in a row but yeah nothing too special here.

I already suggested a fix that brings back a revamped war filter that doesn't affect the matchmaking time.
quote:

10 battles, 6 of them are battles between players of different alignments, other 4 are battles between players from the same alignment, my idea suggests that only the influence gained through battles of players from different alignments should count towards the war, while influence from other 4 battles should count into personnal influence only.

Extracted from: http://forums2.battleon.com/f/fb.asp?m=22094196
War 2.0 Redux Thread

My idea is quite simple, out of all the battle between players through out the day, only battles that happen between different alignments should count towards the war bar. The war might be longer but we can also reduce the total influence needed to finish the war from let's say 8 million to 4 million. This way the alignment with better players shall win, and also without affecting matchmaking time.

This is just an extraction from the many fixes that were suggested. I won't really waste any more time on this topic since you think devs care? If they did, they would've properly fixed the war based on that thread but they didn't. If they choose not to waste time on ED, I'll pick the same choice. We sadly have to accept this and play this war with its current flaws.

I just came here to clarify some points and enlighten some people, with facts and not false allegations.

Wow, congrats to Legion for their win! I'm pleasantly surprised by this outcome - maybe the war prize motivated the big guns to come out? This result could indicate that the competition isn't as structurally one-sided as we feared.

Fortune City, the jewel of the Administration, has been recovered and is once again under Legion control. Could this be part of Alydriah's broader schemes, which she hinted at in the conclusion of the recent Captain Murdoc mission chain? What else may the wicked witch have in mind?

IMHO, Winning wasn't such a big deal. 1 free *cough* ugly *cough* armor watever... I rather prefer losing and gaining some extra influence.
