I find it intriguing and at the same time bewildering that you mention only one of the so-called "excuses" for this topic and suggestion, as this same concern has been addressed over and over again countless times -- providing many different "excuses". First of all, you lack the reasoning and argument as to why you want these old rares back, and the supposed "excuse" you mention is only one of many. One reason you mention there is, people spent money on those items. You forget to mention the reason for their purchase of those promos or items. One of the reasons for purchasing promos back then was because of it's rarity meaning that once it's gone, it's gone. There is no real reason to return old items back. It is called rare for a reason -- meaning it will never be back. If the developers do go back on their word and break their promise to satisfy the minority of players who are wanting old items back, then it will not only upset those players who have bought the items in the past thinking it is actually rare, but will also unsettle the current/new players. The actions to bring back old items will result in the developers losing their credibility, as it will be delivered as them breaking their own rules of which the players followed by - having paid for the items, etc... The current population of players will then feel uncomfortable and that the developers may break another policy in the future regarding something else, subsequently resulting in players losing their faith in the developers, which could possibly lead to a decrease in player count. All in all, it will severe the trust between the developers and players. Yes, the developers have broken promises during several other events by returning the Pyro Fly, Eggzooka, etc... one of them being a mistake. These sort of fiascoes evidently caused an uproar in the community, it could be that the Pyro Fly was brought back possibly for the sake of balance/battle variety - but this obviously is not a good excuse and does not warrant a return of old items. It will not reflect well for them if they keep on breaking promises, so it's wise of them to not bring old items back. I believe that the developers will stand firm on their decision of not bringing old rare items back. The recent release of content served us with a imitation and mock version of an old core deriving from the ultra-rare delta set of the delta phase. This replica core is not exactly the same as it's effectiveness is lessened in comparison with the original due it being a recreation. This method is much easier for the developers in terms of effort and public relations. That being said I do not see any reason to return old items seeing as the cores are now being replicated in way so that it respects everyone instead of breaking promises, it will also positively contribute towards balance. Returning old items just for the sake of customizing your character is absurd and not enough of a reason to justify this suggestion. Editing in a post made only a month ago from Charfade regarding this concern; quote: quote:
Charfade wrote: Just going to add dev team has no interest in bringing back any rare items. That being said we have given away personal items "Titans and NW Alpha Gear" for the winter gift giving season. We remove the items from our inventory to give to the players not creating any new entries in the database. This practice is so we can offer high rewards to exceptional players who earned them by playing well and have been active in the EpicDuel community. Source
