The title pretty much says everything and I think it's ridiculous that older players who got banned for not really good reasons. I'm not even going to explain why since I don't want to spend so much time writing about stuff since I'm really busy with finals

Im pretty sure that players that got banned got banned because they broke the rules.

 Players only get banned for serious infractions of the rules. We don't ban people without reason. You've probably only heard one end of the story from your friends, who probably forgot to mention the details of their cheating, hacking, or payment fraud. If you could see everything behind the scenes that our Moderators and Help Team members do, I'm sure you'd agree with me that unbanning accounts isn't in anyone's best interest.

In my opinion I never saw the point of permabans. But I also seen no point in unbanning players at this point. If they were banned years ago (since you said old) then chances are they would likely not even come back to ED since they have no interest. If they created a different account and have been playing since then there still isn't much of a point. Their current character is likely significantly better than their old one.

 Pretty sure people won't get permabanned without multiple infractions of minor rules after being given warnings (IE, inappropriate language even after a warning was already handed out).
