(Second image is at the start of it's attack animation.)

Could someone clarify for the future if a "default position" (but parts going off-screen) image is preferred to a more complete one that shows more of the item?

Update: By popular request, Dogzilla now works kinda the same was as the Diamond Flutterby.

Click to switch between damage mode and burn mode.
  • Damage mode: +5% damage.
  • Burn mode: attacks take a total of -45% damage, but can Burn the monster ([hits connected] rounds, power:2)

@IMR. Could you put the location for Dogzilla on the entry?

While I'm at it, if the change on how the attacks work could be also added to the entry it would be really nice.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the bother.

    Done. Thanks! ~IMR

I think Dogzilla updated needs a clarification on the word attacks, if keeping the same 50% chance of two different attacks, the penalty should be 18% melee or if just one consistent attack then -45% would be right.

I messed up the numbers on the first version.

A power:X burn is worth (X*10)% of a Melee attack. A power:2 burn that lasts 2 rounds is worth 40% of a Melee attack.
The pet gives up -50% pet damage (start at 100%, +5% for MC, -50% for burn -> total -45%) for the burn. Pets are worth 40% Melee, so it's actually giving up 20% Melee. It has a 50% chance of success (assuming your stats and levels are the same), so it effectively doubles the burn power. So the burn is worth 20% *2 = 40% Melee.

The previous version doesn't follow any kind of logic. ~IMR

    Analysis

Starts off as a standard pet:
    Type G
    Level	15	35	55	75	95	115	135	150
    PowLvl	15	35	55	75	95	115	135	153

    BtH	3	8	13	18	23	28	33	38
  • Attack #1 (Normal Attack):
    • It deals 100% damage (+5% MC, so total of 105% damage).
  • Attack #2 (Burn Attack):
    • It deals -50% damage for the Burn effect (+5% MC, so total of -45% damage).
    • With two equally powerful hits, each hit does *1/2 damage.

MC: +5% damage. (Already Factored on the Normal Attack and Burn Attack)

All this has ALREADY been factored into the above numbers.

    Updates

June 17, 2016: The pet was released.

    What does this mean:

Is it the chance to attempt bleed, or the power (i.e. multiplier used instead of 0.25)?

If the monster is already Blind, then it does its fallback attack. 1 hit, 100% damage.

Entry needs a correction, Zard is working with Daze, not Stun.

Edit: I suppose Stun isn't really a status, but the closest thing to it is Paralysis, would be nice to clarify.

Also the quest option, should be renamed from paralyze to daze, that's misleading

    Bulbazard:
While it will normally bite your opponent, this zard has a leaf attack that can hit for extra damage.

    Pikazard:
This is the lovable zard you get for showing up late for your first day as a zard trainer.

The updated Friendship Bracelet guests' SP cost exceeds the player's SP regen, with or without the bracelet equipped. Previously, the guest SP cost was equal to player SP regen with the bracelet equipped. Is this intentional or an oversight?

For the custom pet, should the new base damage be defined in terms of the old random damage or the old base damage. Based on my calculations if the equations are correct as is, then total damage would be equal to Old Random * (1 + Lean)/2 which would mean that the best option would be to maximize the lean value.

    My derivation of the equation:
    Damage = New Base + New Random = Old Random (1 - Lean)/2 + (Old Random * Lean) = (Old Random - (Old Random * Lean))/2 + (Old Random * Lean) = (Old Random /2) - (Old Random * Lean /2) +( 2 * Old Random * Lean /2) = (Old Random/2) + (Old Random * Lean /2) = (Old Random + (Old Random * Lean)) /2 = Old Random * (1+Lean)/2

    That's for max damage.

Remember that Random damage gives you a random amount between 0 and [the listed number], so on average it gives [Rand]/2 damage. If you're calculating average damage, then:

    [Old Rand]*(1-Lean)/2 + [Old Rand]*Lean/2
    = [Old Rand]*((1-Lean)/2 + Lean/2)
    = [Old Rand]/2*(1-Lean+Lean)
    = [Old Rand]/2

It always ends up the same. ~IMR

Now in the LTS: PikaZard and BulbaZard pets. Kam says:

Energy and Earth, respectively. They both have a normal bite and a second attack that does something special. Paralyse for Pika, Bulba uses Razor Leaf, so it's got a 20% chance to do +50% damage (20% proc, happens 50% of the time, so /0.2 and /0.5, so total of /0.1 for MC value).

[Pikazard switches between "damage mode" and "paralysis mode". This is currently bugged - it does its paralysis attack in damage mode and its damage attack in paralysis mode. Kam says this is fixed.
"Damage mode" is one hit. +5% damage
"Paralysis mode" is two hits. It takes -50% damage. There's a 0.37*[hits connected]/2 *[monster Energy res] chance of paralysing the monster. The monster can resist with a save (inflict with CHA/LUK; resist with END/LUK; +0 save).

Don't see any MC bonus; will poke Kam. Added.]

Is there a reason why the sell price is higher than the buy price?

Because that's not the sell price, it's the full, non-discounted price. ~Carandor

    @IMR:

Those levels (and probably a lot of the other things, as a result) are wrong. The Zards are level 15/35/55/75/95/115/135/150, for starters. Also, does PikaZard really not get anything special for the "damage mode" attack?

The levels were updated so that it would be better for adventurers. ~Carandor

Daze rate on the Custom Zard isn't a flat 100%, but scales directly with monster elemental resistance.

Is this intended though? Seems like wasted power to me since usualy we'll be attacking a resistance above 100%. Shouldn't for example 130% resistance mean 30% chance of a 2-turn Daze?

    Not intended. Removed. ~IMR
