I like drawing, and I like DF, but the thing is, I've never learned to draw
Not good enough to be a gallery, but it's a makeshift one :)
I woun't be posting often either, since I'm preparing for university admission at the moment.

I would extremely appreciate advises on drawing, since I didn't, and probably won't have a chance to actually learn it.
Thanks

This li'l guy's name is Untitled (yes, it literally is), and he's the Water Elemental Spirit of Reticence.

Unlike his appearance, he's one of the oldest spirits in existence, and he's normally found slumbering in the corner of the PoES.
He is also known as 'Mare Incognitum', or the unknown sea.
From time to time, he would change forms like the ocean, but usually he takes the form in the picture.
Few have seen him awake, and even fewer have lived to tell the tale.
Legends say that when he meets the right hero, he would become the 'Mare Desiderii', the Sea of Dreams, and set the most dreadful nightmares right.

This made me think of spirits in non-humanoid forms. I always wanted a mer-dragon, so that's what I dr... I mean, tried to draw
I would be overjoyed if you gave me any advises on drawing :D

Hello vanilla! I enjoy this piece quite a bit, especially the detail you put into the face and tail. The only two pieces of criticism I have is that the end of the tail seems to get a little too thin near the end, so I'd say try and work on that a little. And the arms seem to start a little to far back on the body, so the proportions seem to be a little off there. Otherwise, good job man.

Wow, what a cutie guy!
Also, agree with Grel. A little off proportions, still great.

I got a Surface for Christmas/Graduation, and I'm still getting used to drawing on screens...
Don't know why, but all my lines get wibbly-wobbly
Found that the only solution was to use thick lines, so I'm sticking to it until I finally get used to this.
Here's a scribble of a gift-wrapped dragon :)

Hi Vanilla! Cute gallery!

Verly looks pretty good, and somewhat cartoony. The only real issue is the lack of detail, which you won't be able to fix anyway until you're used to the pen :p.

The dragon in the box looks adorable.
It probably needs a clearer shape to its face, though. There are a pair of proportion issues; the wings are too thin where they meet the dragon (and how did it get its wings through the hole in the box anyway?), and the back should probably be jutting out of the box (the dragon looks unhealthily thin).

I can think of a few factors that may be contributing to wobbly lines;
Your stylus- if it's a 'gecko' type those are terrible for drawing (if you're using a surface pen or something there's no problem there, though)
Alternately, if you can't rest your hand on the screen it may cause some wobble; maybe try using fingerless gloves so you can touch the screen without creating a line.
Or it may just be that you're unused to the frictionless feel of the pen, especially if you're used to using a pencil or fineliner.

Anyway, forgive the wall of text. I look forward to your future projects, wobbly and less wobbly alike.

Oh, wow. Thanks for the detailed advices, Shiny.
And Vonix and Grel too! :)

I think it's just that I'm unused to the feeling of the pen-on-glassy-surface thingy. The Surface pen is good enough, and the basic drawing app on Surface lets my hand rest on the screen. I guess I'll have to work on it. Do you know any app/program I can use for drawing? I'd be grateful for the advice :)

^Autodesk Sketchbook is a pretty good non-laggy platform to draw on. It can take some time to get used to though.
Photoshop is the usual choice, but it can be fairly heavy on processors.
For general purpose image editing I use Paint.Net, but it has problems drawing at high resolutions- if you're zoomed out too far it splits the lines into angular segments, instead of making them a smooth curve (my usual techniques with Paint.Net don't involve the need for precision drawing). It also lacks a hardness setting for the brush, which can be worked around with layers, but it takes a lot of time to do that.
You could also try your hand at Flash if you want to replicate DF's style exactly, but I don't know too much about that.

Those are just my suggestions, I suspect there may be some better options out there :p.
