Features/Changes
  • Players will now receive a Credit bonus when they level up, roughly equal to the amount of Credits they would have earned before the experience curve changes made in December
  • 3k bonus Varium promotion has ended
  • BioBeasts packages have been removed
  • Increased level of opponents in a Juggernaut match with only NPCs to curb botting attempts
  • Seasonal Rare BioBeasts items will be removed from shops, set to return Sept 18, 2017
  • Weapons/armor will receive credit prices when they return. Cores will remain Varium-only

I still think re-CAPTCHA is a better idea. A better and more secure re-CAPTCHA.

All this change did was at best slow down some people's wins. Heck after a few matches some of the NPC pairings were identical to before the update. So at best as I pointed out this might slow down the bot's wins, but it won't discourage them no sir.

 If you're talking about Google's reCAPTCHA, that one probably wouldn't even work with flash, or at least I couldn't find any resources on it.

There are plenty of CAPTCHA out there. Use any.. or just create one. Maybe something that asks stuff about EpicDuel. Simple stuff.(the more questions, the better/safer) Like: What is Hunter's evolved class called? A level 40+ obviously must know that. Since this CAPTCHA only applies to level 40+. For obvious reasons.

Even a simple math question (12+5 ; 88-4) for each 3 battles is enough to avoid bots. Bots attack automatically, probably with auto-clicks, but I'm pretty sure they won't answer a random question correctly.

Woops.. I assumed the bottom most list were armours.. they are in fact, cores!

 or any person who did not like being confused as bot would say. the immense majority of ppl with str lv 99 on runescape were also botters, but set a captcha would be really annoying for the ppl who was not botting str, mining, woodcut, fishing etc..

 Captchas were easily bypassed by bots in all the forms they were added before so I think it may be safe to say people dedicated to botting will continue to find a way around them and say that news with others.

So they'd become a bandaid fix that just annoys real players

They always compare levels to ranks, except when it's talking about rewards. Weird.

Well ranks weren't affected by the x3 level curve meaning that you would gain the same amount of credits from rank up to rank up (assuming you didn't use PH or Credit boosts) where as with levels you would only get 33.3% of whatever credits you normally would have gotten due to you being able to level up 3 times faster.

So it makes sense to give credits to those who level up due to them not having enough to level up their gear where as it doesn't make sense to give out credits for ranking up due to this never being broken.

 I'm happy that my stupid little project was used to actually make a change to the game when I had no intentions of it making any impact on the games economy

Well so basically nothing can be done about botters... If that's the chase, then can we at least stop whining about it. Or feel free to suggest something that can actually stop them.
