Ok, so hear me out.

Despite being a tiny, TINY event, I think this Friday 13th is the best event AQ3D currently has had. And I will say why.

1: Random spawn is NOT TIED TO QUESTS!:
I've always said for AQ3D that in some cases a random spawn can work for AQ3D. In Frostval, it was really, REALLY annoying, suince there were 4 boss spawns and each one was tied to a quest. Meaning you could do the maze run a thousand times, and never progress in the story.

However, the fact that Shrade is not tied to any quests is a good thing. It makes the random nature of his doomed spawn a lot less annoying and more refreshing, and the normal spawn can work too.

In the future, if random spawns are tied to quests, it might be a good idea to follow the example Sharade could set: Have both versions count towards the quest completion, but have a badass version spawn sometimes with better rewards. It avoids the issue of random spawns annoying like in the frostval event, and instead gives the player something to look forwards to.

2: rain/weather effects. I mean it's all well and good having pumpkins and stuff in the area when a release goes live, but actual weather effects are nice.

3: A interesting, mysterious villain with good rewards: Ok, so Shrade has no story and is basicaly a killer pashthe. But sometimes that's all you need. For a tiny event like this, it works. He attacks Battleon and tries to kill everyone. Simple.

4: Decent rewards that are easy to get:
Ok so they are never gonna win any most op drops award. But you know what: it's a good way for low and high levels to get decent enough drops easy. Good.

5 :It is a simple release for staff (presumably): I get you want to celebrate the holidays in AQ3D. I appreciate it. But while features need to be worked into the game, that should take priority. HOWEVER, a very small release like this one means they can celebrate the holiday, experiment with the best way to do drops and the like, and proceed to work on more requested features while we get a nice little something. Everyone wins.

6: REASONABLE later respawn times: Ok so the Acevorath frespawn time was a fail. This one is better. But not perfect. My reccomendation is have NORMAL SHrade on a NORMAL timer, but have DOOMED Sharade on the current timer. It means people can farm normal shrade, and they get a bit of a warning to change items or the like before DOOM comes upon then.

Now how it COULD be improved on:

1: Have a new NPC in a prominent location say in it's normal box "AHHHHHH SHARADE IS HERE GO KILL HIM BEFORE HE KILLS ME!" Just so people know there is a release without looking at the DNs.

2: That covers it off the top of my head.

TLDR: less is more in this case.

Your post pretty much sums up what I was thinking.

I also love Shrade since he pays homage to Baron Valtrith from DF. His existence also planted the seed of possibility that we might one day see Baron Valtrith in AQ3D. One can only hope.
