A New Home.

Another tale set within the same continuity of The Long Dark and eventually the rewrite of Ocean of Hopelessness.

This is essentially a prologue, introducing some concepts and settings before I get into that endeavor. Likely to be a short work although I'm not sure how short. Given the nature of it, I'd guess it'll be around the length of The Long Dark.

Second chapter up.

It occurred to me, there's likely to be the question of why the Rose hadn't tried to occupy Miskatonic given the presence of the university. Something that won't be touched on here as it's just about some dude with no affiliation to anyone or anything.

So whether it's the Rose or the Thorns (likely the main faction), I got the idea of writing up a fic set during Book Three as opposed to the distant future. As for when I'll do that, that's another story.

Chapter three up and a few minor changes to the previous entry. Just some minor changes to the protagonists mannerisms to reflect their let's say conservative upbringing. And after three entries, I can begin to actually get into the what the story is about and what it'll lead into.

Chapter four up and with it new and exciting mysteries. As well as the answer to a previous mystery that probably wasn't really a mystery.

Chapter five up. This is actually looking to be longer than originally stated, but that's not a bad thing. Nothing wrong with expanding on the world and fleshing out a character no matter what their future is looking like.

EDIT: On second though chapter five is going to be V-A. V-B will largely be continuing where V-A left off, but at what passes for night rather than what passes for afternoon.

The name of chapter six isn't indicating any pattern because that would be terrible.

Chapter seven is up. Longer than I expected it to be.

Kind of thinking of going in a direction similar to a Stephen King novel with doing chapters that focus on some of the other characters, but I'm not entirely sure if I could pull it off. Nothing like "Salem's Lot" where four pages are dedicated to the school bus driver and nothing to further the plot as developing the town is kind of a big deal since it does tie into the larger story.

I suppose I could do like I did with "Ocean of Hopelessness" with brief (although likely not brief in this case) interludes to mention the going ons within other areas of the region the story is set every ten chapters or so.

Chapter nine's up. Took much longer than expected to write up as I started and was distracted while doing so and continued to be distracted by other things during the time spent writing.

Don't try writing while reading random TvTropes articles and watching movies. Or YouTube.

Chapter ten's up. Longer gap between entries than I was expecting. I'll try to get entries up in a more timely manner in the future, but who knows what might come up to keep that happening.

At least I don't have a set schedule here because I'd be way behind.

And I think I've delved more into slice of life than horror. Which isn't a bad thing as it makes things more tense.

Chapter fifteen up.

Next chapter will feature a timeskip with our hero having been in their new home for a month. Also the second interlude.

I'm thinking of the tale spanning a year, but I'm not too sure.

Wew lad, what a huge gap in releases. Got into FFXIV recently and it's a pretty big distraction/timesink.

Chapter eighteen is up and shorter than expected. Doing it weekly might be the best approach to get it done as soon as possible as almost a year and I ain't even sure how close I am.

Only took a year, but it's finished. It's finally finished.

Last while has been a real trip, but maybe just maybe I can get my act together and actually follow through with all those things I said I'd write. Hopefully I can sign up a single thread for all these things that'll be dubbed The Madness Chronicles.
