 Alright then, time to do my best Oprah impression, apparently? XD

As of now, the 3 of you (Sanctus, Kooroo, Nield) all have 12 hour extensions. Inform me if you end up needing more time, but I won't be going beyond 24 hours to avoid more snowball of extensions.

Sorry, I even worried about me mentioning her race was an issue, then did something even WORSE without thinking of it. I'll be more careful....

Also, I think I'm out of sync enough that I won't need an extension like everyone else. Since I'm depending on their feedback, however, I'll be keeping an eye out!

Again, sorry...

Edit: sorry, turns out I will need that extension.

...umm, I must admit I'm at a loss. I sent the spirits toward the pawn, but there was no reaction in his post. Um, any suggestions?!

 @brotherinlaw - While you're not in danger of violating the "Characters must engage in combat" rule by remaining fairly defensive/relying on your spirits, you're also denying yourself the chance to truly show off all of the abilities that your character has. We're in the final stretch where most people only have 1-2 posts left to make, so make sure that you're giving us the best of your character! This advice goes to everyone - if you don't use your abilities soon, they may not get used at all.

@Sanctus - you're teetering fairly close to "godmodding" in your most recent post in failing to take into account the expense of Order from character-Sanctus. As written in your bio the "Tribute between Lords" ability is at the cost of all order to use, which makes it a bit of a stretch for character-Sanctus to then shift directly to the Knight form, and then use a heavily draining ability like Steed of Persues. Given how the Tribute was never fully activated, I'm going to act under the assumption that you meant the order to be expelled upon the completion of the ability, rather than the initiation. Either way, remember to work in both the advantages and the drawbacks of your abilities, as for the length of the speech character-Sanctus gave, he's shouldn't be walking on sunbeams for much longer without needing a recharge of Order.

A clarification from the discord: The end line for my post is meant to show that Sanctus is now grounded from his Knight flight. He's almost entirely absent of Order, his right hand is a stumpy mess, and his left rotor cuff is injured in such a way as to cause pain with movement by the left arm. He should be around midway between the brawl with Elias and the ongoing fight Bei is involved in.

Between my move and my new job, I've been a little overwhelmed. I'm not asking for an extension yet, because sometimes the stars align and I get to feverishly type for 30 minutes, but it's looking probable that I need one. :(

I got your message, and will post forthwith. and @Sanctus, I presume you are free to receive me in combat? Assume my spirits are making their way to you already.it's Also rather rude to assume the intentions of a man and challenge his honor, being that he cannot defend himself while chanting!

Also, due to the timestamp on my notice reading 9:00ish, I must request an extension. At 9:00 am I will be occupied with waking and readying others for the day. I apologize for than inconvenience.

 @brotherinlaw - as I have been overly lenient in extensions this year, you have a 12 hour extension.

In the future, and this goes to everyone, extensions for reasons like "the timing isn't optimal" or "I need an extra couple hours to proofread" will not be accepted. You know what time your deadline is from the moment you post. You have 4 days to figure out if you need to discuss/work with people to determine your next move, and to figure out if the timing is sub-optimal and that you need to plan on posting the evening prior.

Extensions in future events, both in the upcoming finals and in next years EC's, will likely be more regulated/limited in order to stop the amount of snowballing in delayed posts that has been caused this year by people taking advantage of the leniency.

Heyo @brotherinlaw just wanted to clarify, the spirits have about 1 chance left, correct? One was used getting hit by the Towers ability, the other by having to reposition/focus due to the camouflage Steadfast ability, correct? And if they were solid enough to get hit by the Tower ability, assumedly they're solid enough to get hit with a blade as well?

Also @brotherinlaw, are the spirits the only ones continuing to engage me? Your last post had you eye-ing up the other competitors and you didn't pursue into the fight with Elias, so i'm guessing you'll still be back there as well? And side-question, how does your chanting look? is it all vocal? Can I just throw dirt into your mouth, since even closing to avoid it should shut off the spirits?

@sanctus, I.intend to close in as well, to gather the smoke when it dissipates. Adding to that I've no-doubt gathered enough smoke by now to resummon the two that will fall.

Have you ever heard Tibetan monks chant? That's what it.sounds like, and I have an entire chorus thanks to my necklace. Part of your question is confusing, though. Is it at all vocal? I would not be changing it it didn't involve my voice!

And yes, he is somewhat impassioned. Does that effect your abilities in some way, or are you interested for the story element? Either way, I will go into greater detail in my post.

So saying, for either of your responses, whether to continue combat or not, I'd appreciate a bit of run through beforehand of your intentions, so we can met out any possible collab details if you're up to it!

 Paragon Arenas are now locked until deliberations are over and officially announced! Announcements will be made in the soon-to-be created Finals OOC thread. Afterwards, the arena threads will be unlocked so that anyone wishing to either continue fighting or exit the arena may do so, as their stories guide them to.

The Grand Arena will open (hopefully) at 12:01 am EDT (server time) on Monday, Aug. 6th. With luck, the OOC thread will be up earlier, depending on how much time is needed to make final decisions.

Thank you to everyone for participating in the Elemental Championships! Even if you don't make it through to the Finals, stick around to watch and cheer on your favorites, both in the OOC thread and in the Discord server!

In addition, I would love to hear feedback on how YOU, the players, felt this years ECs were run! This is my second time as Director and while I feel like I fixed my own rookie mistakes from last year, I would love to continue to improve! The feedback form may be filled out anonymously, and can be found here.

For anyone here who would like to continue their own role-playing skills, I encourage you to check out either the Role Playing Academy or the Combat Training forums. Additionally, keep an eye on the Role Playing General Discussion for any future, member-led RP’s, or feel free to look into creating your own!
