Here’s yet another balance post:

Currently this is what I see the problem with Tech Mage:

It is hard to make Focus Good without making Tech builds even better.

Solution?

Back in the Old days supercharge scaled on Dexterity and so did Overload while Plasma Rain and Plasma bolt scaled on Technology.

Now idk about reverting everything in the past but like, after that, it was changed to where plasma bolt and supercharge were on technology and overload and plasma rain were on dexterity was alright.

So the build for tech mage was either a caster build or probably a strength build with malfunction, high-ish medic, and deadly aim, or a support str build (I remember this in Early Omega for sure)

If we put Overload back to Dexterity then we can have a better dex TM build (this won’t stop the tech TM problem obviously), but if we put supercharge to tech we get… Dex TM (Putting guns back to strength so TM doesn’t have 3 nukes) and we get a solid tech TM build with plasma rain and plasma bolt. These skills can do damage together but without a solid healing and defense ignore move(supercharge) to scale with tech, this build will be weakened but still good, since rain will help it.
As with dex tech mage, it will be good again, just have to change sidearm to strength again so it won’t be broken.
So what about focus builds? How does this help at all? Plasma rain and Bolt are both tech based which can be good, but hopefully it won’t get outlooped by tech TM as bad because of supercharge. Against a dex TM, a focus TM has a decent malf that can hurt it, or if they don’t want to malf because of a strong technician, then they should have some E attacks that help tear down the dex TM, or at least a higher field medic if medic should be buffed properly
So this may be a problem of, but wait, won’t dex TM be OP then?
Well, the technology will be weaker so a tech build can beat it, cyber hunter should beat it, some merc builds with surgical, support TM builds can probably beat both depending on circumstances.
So no it shouldn’t be OP at all.


But Ginger, what about support TM????
Have y’all seen the Malfunction though? It’s pretty nice as it is, and most tech mages with a support build are str/support builds. I’d rather balance out tech/dex and focus builds.
So, won’t tech mage itself be OP?

Well, to be honest any high def/high res TM is ridiculous at looping and I blame that on battery.

Also other TM builds against it can’t stop the energy drain because assimilation is so weak (which is really unfortunate) but we’re trying to get away from energy meta, right?
Nerf Battery?
I mean this would work but people would get mad about legendary bosses…which can honestly wait because they’re not THAT important and they can be reworked.
PvP is what the game is for, not NPC battles.

To be completely honest, removing all these actives that bring back energy stops looping because the energy circulation is severely cut away, which is want I want to see personally.

So that’s tech mage.

Here’s Blood Mage:
Yea, um I kinda want that parasite back to 3 turn use 3 turn cooldown (like it originally used to be) instead of 4 turns. Yeah this makes looping better, but they’ll do 85% damage which is normally 30 like every 4th turn and also parasite at 15% isn’t nearly enough for a 4 turn cooldown.
Strength: Strength got hurt a bit with the parasite 85% damage change, and I really do think bludgeon needs a buff. 150 Energy on level 1 for a 21% damage increase… That’s really mediocre to be completely honest with you. You can look at merc double strike and laugh at how bad bludgeon is

To be honest blood mage is really lackluster. I’m glad for the Plasma Cannon buff, but since merc is just so much better with energy draining and such, I’d really wish for Plasma Cannon to be better than bunker because Blood Mage isn’t great.

So here’s BH:


What do we know?

Static is trash, smoke is good.
Massacre scales with tech.

Yeah, massacre scales with tech. That’s really funny.

Also massacre is flat out weak at lower levels, you know, not like 7-10, maybe that’s because strength builds are weird and energy is hard to come by especially as a BH.
Strength builds are still oofed because of Kartherax for obvious reasons, gun to strength? Hey that’s a good idea.

Anyway, I’d like mass to be good at lower levels and weaker at higher levels because of reasons I’ve said a thousand times.

This move should really scale with strength to be honest, because you attack someone with blades… a series of strikes, why should it scale with tech?

I don’t care that the other ultimates scale with tech, we’re trying to create diversity.

Mass used to scale off of nothing and was a str skill, tech mage used to have super on dex, merc surge has been tech as far as I know, (maybe dex sometime? Idk, I don’t think so)
Smoke: So I’ve heard it’s a bit strong right now, but we’ll see in the future.
But especially with the Azrael's aux and hawk it’s kinda hilarious.

CH: I think this can be a good class if support is balanced out
(Also EMP and Plasma Grenade need a buff IMO)


TLM:
Um.
Toxic Grenade buff (was 2 turns for the longest time and it was pretty funny after frenzy got buffed because str TLM but it may be necessary tbh)
Frenzy Defense Ignore back
Field Commander to something good? It’s only really good if someone does intimidate to you.




MERC:
So I’ve heard that strength mercenary is funny stupid right now. I think Maul with the defense ignore should go away, and just be a stun skill like a stun grenade or a plasma grenade because a 300 damage stun on level 1 is a little rouh.
Zerker could use a little nerf and so could double (but not on TLM)

STRENGTH:

HEY YALL.

Yeah strength is good if you spam it and don’t get blocked or karthed (which is funny because that makes people complain when they lose to a stat spam strength build and complain that it's OP when it's so unlucky with blocks they just pick the times they lose)

I’d still honestly rather see a bit of a base buff and more diminishing returns at the top (like honestly because 120+35 str and 0 dex shouldn’t work at all but it can)

After 85 should be diminishing like at 105, 125, 135,145 to stop spamming because it’s annoying.


Dex spam and tech spam and support spam are still kinda meh, but with skills it makes a bit of sense.

Just for a strike that you can do every turn is kind of dumb, even if the block rate is high, tech mage especially can get around strikes, and can get around shields with bludgeon, firescythe.

UNDERDOG: Hopefully it’ll be addressed with the first turn chance gone at the update

2v2: Hopefully matchmaking with Ranks is gone so high ranks don’t stop getting messed over.
