Hopefully this made into a beastmaster armor/weap. Thematically I think it fits

Temporary discounted rates for individual items are not feasible due to the manual processes involved and the added complexity of tracking. It is important to note there was a permanent reduction of approximately 50% in Z-Token prices across all items. Additionally, we have enhanced our offerings with larger and more frequent bonus deals for players making their Z-Token purchases. The sellback amount for Z-Token items was also increased to 90% for a 48-hour period, providing an opportunity for those interested in exploring new items. Anticipate an upcoming release for this Friday, thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Could we get a confirmation if the giftmaster variants are elemental variants or strictly cosmetic variants?

Indeed, Nightfall will be a darkness elemental variation of the original Heroic Titan gear. Kamui is actively working on refining the tribal shaman updates, although they will not be ready around the usual release time. Meanwhile, I'm pleased to announce the return of the Heart's Crusher package!

The updates for the Tribal Shaman gear are live, and you can find links to their respective info subs below!

Thank you for the prompt info subs!

Any chance we can get them for last week's giftmaster weapons as well?

Well, that's a... choice.

Turning a Neutral Fire/Earth premium package armour that focused on boosting their own attack power into an Earth Spellcaster that only boosts the power of the player's companions.

Mages need more accessible Spellcaster options if the stat update is to follow through as planned. This achieves nothing on that front. It's premium in an element we already have relatively good accessible coverage (Eternal Champion, Fall Dryad [Compression]), and doesn't contain any supporting damage spells unless you spend half of the tokens you just bought on a weapon. It also removes the defense of an element we do need more of (Fire). In addition, you've changed the central premise of the armour that people have already paid real money for.

It's a decent beastmage armour, I just hope the donators that originally paid for it are beastmages that enjoy boosting companion power.

The change to focus more on pet empowerment is likely the best option as I doubt the armor saw much use before. A toggle to work for both the user and pets might have worked too but guess it was decided against.

Spellcaster lean with pet boosts is a nice idea. Not everything in this game has to follow some preconceived path. The beauty of this game is all the combinations and ideas. Always following some archaic formula is rather boring and so having this combo IMO is quite good. Also, anytime elevuln (in the case of the weapon) is there, it's a companion boost too and then can be used for that purpose. Also, not all SC lean armors need to have built-in spells and not all of those even need to be pure damage. Variety is very good IMO.

All in all, I actually approve of the ideas put forth with these updates. I will use this armor far far far more than if it were some basic boring "follow yellow brick road" style caster armor.

Wish this armor had a Beastmaster lean instead of Spellcaster :o

I don't mind that this is SC, but a Beastmaster Lean does need a thoughtful reintroduction for sure

I personally don't much like the changes done to it as someone that originally bought the package. It went from an armor that boosted the player into an armor that boosts the pet exclusively with an anachronistic spellcaster lean on-top that doesn't seem to offer much synergy with the reworked mechanic, so it very much changed its whole appeal to those original buyers. It's odd to see people that have complained about such niche reversal changes in the past so enamored with this specific one as something positive.

It probably has to do with its lack of use. While the identity change is odd the choice to do it was probably with good intent. Beastmages have their popularity.

That's not quite the point, if one very vocally complains about premium items being changed to be something different than the original appeal it's odd to only do that on a case by case basis. Lack of popularity wouldn't change the original basis for such a complaint after all.

I'm not sure I agree with the changes to the tribal staff either, seeing as it's just an earth clone of the mermazon magic weapon and is the only justification of that spellcaster lean within the "set" (I put this in quotation marks because the weapon isn't sold with the package but separately as a token item).

Item relevance matters. If it saw no use updating it would change this. You can be unhappy but were you using the armor actively in recent times?

If the complaint is that premium items, specifically, should not be changed to run counter to their original appeal then the only relevance is that they are premium. If that relevance isn't what matters then I expect that no other complaints on the subject of premium fixes, changes or nerfs will be taken seriously as anything other than bluster, which is rather the point, torpedoing that argument as something that is only relevant when it's a niche reversal you don't agree with defeats any chances of it being followed as a legitimate complaint no?

You can't categorize gear criticism in a way where they need to follow some formula or the complaint is rendered worthless. There's no fair basis by which complaints are legitimate or not. This can lead down a bad path in which a complaint can be dismissed for no reason.

Look at it this way. The package was neglected, armor saw little use and the decision for the change was the attempt to correct this. Doubt there's any nefarious reasoning to it.

Aye, there's no nefarious reasoning to it on the staff's part, of that I was already certain, it's the result that perturbs regardless of that. I'll be sure to refer to this exchange in the future.

It's understandable for those who already purchased it who may have had hopes that it would be more "updated" than "completely changed"

In some way, I get the sentiment Dreiko likely may be coming from.

I do think, though, the argument on changing premium items loses a lot of luster when the item(s) in question are 10-11 years old and AQ's likely internal analysis shows nobody is bothering buying the always-available package.

Maybe they could have just kept the aethetical theme but power crept it. I get it.

But Aura I think has a point, too. BeastMages are popular. In fact, this might be the first armor that specifically catered to a Beast MAge build (not the broader beastmaster)

As someone who primarily plays LBM, I approve of this change. But I totally understand what/why Dreiko's opinion is what it is.

As alluded to in my previous post, I'm very much on @Dreiko Shadrack's side here.

I disagree with @Aura Knight; the relevance of an item doesn't really matter here. Over the past 12 months, there has been a consistent argument made that, if people invest real money into an item, then care should be taken when changes are made to it, regardless of whether the item was made ten minutes or ten years ago. In some cases, an older item has been considered even more important precisely because players had time to get used to it.

The only reason this is even a matter of debate is because Tribal Shaman wasn't a particularly good item before the change. If this were a Doomlight armour that had suddenly been modified into a version of Bard of War, people would (quite rightly) be extremely upset. Changing the central theme and target audience of an armour represents a direct, unavoidable challenge to the argument that care should be taken with changes made to a premium item. Even if the item was originally bad, and even if the item it becomes is good (both of which apply to this armour). There is no reason this couldn't have been made into a good armour with quickcast player related buffs, which would have still reached the original target audience.

Beastmage may be popular, but there was no reason or justification for turning this into a beastmage armour.

It has to matter otherwise nothing would ever be updated. I can't support the idea where change is prevented out of expectation that item identity will never be altered. We have other items changed to match new standards but it's the premium armor which gets the complaints? Those who bought the armor got their money's worth of use and now it's been adapted to a new standard.

An option could be keeping a retro version with old effects but this hasn't happened.

Not just the lean, but the compression too?!

This particular package caught my eye years ago for the sole purpose of being an armor that takes less damage with snazzy effects to keep your own damage up to par; arguably the best Neutral armor to date.

I get it... Neutral armors likely aren't seeing a high usage rate. It only makes sense to rebrand anew in attempt to squeeze life into them. The $upport just isn't there!

It's not like I'm an active player; it's been years since I last bought a package. Change any & everything at this point; whatever it takes to hold on to the remnant$.

What's wild is that the option to add on to the package rather than change it was there, but here we are. That said, this change effectively pulls the plug on my account. Kudos.

I am very happy with the changes. I think this is the first where we can stack boost on pet damage with diminishing return after each use, very reasonable. Also having guaranteed pet celerity is nice for those who don't spend $100 on infernal champion. Most importantly, thank you for taking out the old Afraid skill that is very meh. Also, more accessible Spellcaster options will come when time is right lol.
