Chaddledee -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 16:27:17)

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 16:33:56)

Dracelix -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 16:43:03)

i believe there is a good program by axon called maya, that is just like c4d

try searching it on google

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 16:58:09)

i will look into it

also can blender do CD4 stuff i would like to know

Ferfo -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 18:01:13)

c4d is not a trial dude, its a demo
aka it wont expire

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 18:23:02)

realy it says 30 day trial in one of the stickies any ways what can the real thing do that the demo cant and dose any free programes have better stuff

Sanguine -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 18:24:00)

First of all, Maya is more expensive then C4D. Blender on the other hand is free, as you said, and is a complete 3D and animation suite. Here's two tutorials to get you started on creating 'C4D stuff' in Blender.

Chaddledee -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 18:33:39)

But Blender is for modelling. C4D is abstract. It really is completely different.

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 18:57:07)

cool this is getting intresting if CD4 i just a demo not a 30 day thing i may get both

That is a common misconception, of course it isn't helped by the term of 3D abstract pieces being called C4Ds. Both C4D and Blender are modeling applications that have the ability to create abstract art. This is just like GIMP and Photoshop being photo editing software but having the ability to create digital paintings.

Also, C4D is commercial software. There is a demo on Maxon's website but the full application is just under 1000 USD, for the version with the least bells and whistles.

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 19:49:35)

So back to this

What can CD4 demo mode do that CD4 non demo cant

and is blender better then demo

Nicky -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 20:10:25)

The biggest difference I found between the C4D demo and full version when I had the demo was saving.

I don't think you can save your renders properly. Not sure if that was definite, but I found myself print screening and copying into Photoshop and saving. Also not sure if it's still like that though, this was a long time ago D:

Sanguine -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 20:25:12)

I'm no sure of the C4D demo but as Nicky said, I'm sure it includes a watermark or something that restricts the user. I can however assure you that Blender has far more features. It has a game engine, particles, a fluid simulator, cloth simulator, video editing tools, compositor, plugin support, and many more. My advice, go with Blender. The C4D demo won't get you far and Blender is as cheap as it gets: free.

^
it can get cheaper - money

also i will get blender for sure but sounds like CD4 isent good via demo can someone give me some cool examples of Belner art

Ferfo -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 21:17:38)

the only difference with c4d demo is that you cant save
you'll have to do what nicky says, print screen+save in photoshop
also

this is my favourite post, like, ever.

Mo -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 21:19:30)

1.It's C4D, not CD4

2.You can use Google Sketchup (just use search)

3.Blender as previously stated.

4. Google free 3D modeling programs

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (12/23/2008 21:29:09)

Wait this is blender i knew some stuff about it but this looks so...Pro its free it awsome wait its free right

i made realistic items.

personaly i have tried both pieces of software and cinema 4D is the better one.
and it has better capabilities for making abstract pieces, but obviously it costs.

That's what I did too.
It still works.
And C4D isn't meant for abstracts...That's like the oppisite of what it is supposed to do...

dxb105 -> RE: CD4 replacement (1/3/2009 15:01:54)
