Been a while since one of these was posted. Figured I ought to do so.
First off, some people like to comb my messages seeking deep and meaningful truth's. Since Eldron has already done the Parrot Sketch about my NPC's recent demise it seems apropos I gave this thread a title that was also Pythonesque, hence the title you see. Make of this what you will.
Secondly, a funny thing happened to me on the way to the office...
As you know doubt now know I recently went through changes. I indicated such was coming for a while. I practically spelled out that it was going to occur and indeed for reasons which you may or may not learn in time it was fairly imperative that Falerin in fact die as he did.
Some felt it Anticlimactic. Thats a fair assessment. I did try to warn some that they might feel that way. Indeed, Falerin himself pronounced the event exactly that... and he was the one dying!
That said I find the number of people who found his death distressing heartwarming. I find the number of people who have described our own rendition of the Mysterious Stranger as exceedingly maddening equally heart warming. This no doubt shows how conflicted I am as a story teller. Scripting Falerin's death was no pleasure for me. Indeed it was one of the most difficult things I have written. Falerin has been part of my Psyche for a VERY LONG time. Nearly two decades in point of fact.
The wait knowing it was coming and having it prolonged was an extra special torture for me too. As you may have noticed the release on the day in question was released early. This was at my request. I simply could not take the prolonged agony any longer. Closure was needed.
As it happened the delay between scripting and release allowed several things including an update to the Isle that was strongly indicated by Falerin's demise. Of course Falerin's death has some quite concerned that it should spell an end to the Hall of Memories.
I am here tonight to dispel the myth. The Hall of Memories will continue and indeed probably sooner than any were expecting. In fact, a bonus cutscene is coming this very week!
But what... does it portend... well you will find no spoilers here...
