Tigirosa -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (7/16/2013 1:06:46)

@Kazuki: ok you could be right about that, cos i have battled with DmK in the same team only 3 times and i havent tryed out what all his skills can do. But what you say about "damage to undeath" skill, still doesnt realy make much sense to me. Most of the undeath have 200 resist to darkness, for example skeletions. And even if you can reduce it by 100 and use "damage to undeath" skill which duble your power, you still do 0 damage to him if you use NSoD, which makes this skill completly usles.

lightriftwalker122 -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (7/16/2013 9:28:10)

if we have the dmk armor why doesnst it turn us a bit of elemental/undead every month? and it would be cool if we were made into undead when we were frozen or having the powers of undead but we are still human @lemon us why temp and why only 3 days? I think it should be like a boost like we can choose what days you want like release days and 7 days is better what I mean by undead is our characters unable to die( getting to 0 HP) and boost wouldn't expire this is a cool idea not a sugesstion and for discussion only

Lemonus -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (7/16/2013 9:57:12)

^a temporary state of.undead for 3 days maybe.

Judging by people's thoughts about it(don't have it), not using DmK is practically a self imposed challenge.

Amirite?

Not necessarily. Being able to dispatch everything the game tosses at you with extreme ease can have its faults. I've lately started opting for Riftwalker instead, as such.

TheShadowKing -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (7/18/2013 22:23:33)

Just got the full set today, so far im loving it. I managed to hold my own against artix in the pvp arena with it and won. Wake and blood rite is a deadly combo. >:D

The game is VERY boring if you only use DoomKnight. I only use it and Kathool Adept for war waves really. It's such a strong power house, there is little reason not to use Dmk when blasting through waves.

Mr G W -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (7/26/2013 15:26:13)

an attack that steals 15% of enemy is pretty much invincibility against any kind of boss, unless the boss can kill you in 1 hit or has a 100% block chance...

DarkLore -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (8/24/2013 20:32:13)

I might be getting DoomKnight soon for my B-day! Yay! It looks so cool an powerful! Considering I like to farm like mad, I don't really mind if it makes the game too easy. I really hate having to spend so much time farming. If I have DMK, I won't waste as much time playing DF as I am now.[:)] I'll be getting the whole package too! *drools over the idea of having 40K DC's.* I could really get used to the game becoming easier once I have DMK. Like most people, I'll still use weaker classes sometimes though to keep the challenge factor.

GearzHeadz -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (8/24/2013 22:03:26)

Which some of the skills had art like Seppy's attacks. Y'know the reddish black magic. We just have about two skills like that, the rest seem to be either black, or blackish purple.

Eonnovastriker -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/3/2014 11:10:18)

I was wondering: what happens if I buy only the Necrotic Sword of Doom Pack? I'll have to use it with other classes right(my basic class is Mage)? I don't want to wait until I have 2 years of DA and buy the whole class. Do you guys thik it worth or should I buy only DC and buy another class, like Kathool Adept or enTropy?

Rukaji -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/3/2014 15:49:38)

DoomKnight looks too powerful for me... but it would be nice for wars.

Windstar -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/3/2014 17:21:31)

DoomKnight is the strongest class in the game, but has very few good skills, the others are really sucky and I really wish they get changed.
I have Doomknight but I only use it because its the strongest class but if I had Chronomancer or Pyromancer I would use one of them instead.

Midnightsoul -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/3/2014 22:27:06)

You know, DmK is good and all, but it gets really boring.

Why?

Because there are spammable moves. I would not mind keeping the spammable moves like Blood Rite, but seriously, a lot of the other moves are pretty underused...
Can the moves be improved or modified so that they can actually be useful?

Ex. Shadow Buff
Almost useless to me. Besides, it makes more sense for a Paladin to have this move.

My point: DmK needs to be more TACTICAL

Ninjaty -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/3/2014 22:56:41)

@above: DoomKnight is exactly what it is meant to be, it's already tactical enough, and all it's skills are very useful in their own way. My main never uses Dark Aura for instance, but one of my lower level characters does. And remember, you are supposed to be the master of Darkness here, so of course you'd need to be able to plow straight through other Darkness beings and undead as well, to teach them to fear you. Imposing weaknesses on them, especially in the form of their own elements, is actually incredibly evil when you think about it, and fits perfectly with the entire theme.

The class is not supposed to be a hard strategic process to use. It's supposed to be ultimate power on your fingertips, with everything you do being able to feel powerful, which is already the case.

If you get bored using it, then it's obviously not designed with you in mind. It was designed to those who wanted to instantly kill everything, and to make even the hardest boss fights easy. Those are the individuals it was centered around. I never get bored of this, because this was exactly what I paid for. To be able to go through the game without need to worry about anything, so that I could actually feel powerful in that respect. This gives me the freedom to use some of my weaker rares, and still have a very realistic shot at winning, regardless of how low my stats get as a result. This is also something I greatly appreciate.

Actually, no. It was originally designed without any scaling power, so the class required far more strategy to utilize to the fullest potential. It was about a year after the class was released that it got its mega-buff. And personally, I miss the old DoomKnight. I liked the strategy it required to use well, while now it's just ROFLstomp everything with 300%+ damage. I felt the sense of power of being a Doom Knight far more when I was using strategies to reverse and reflect damage against my foes, rather than just crushing them with big numbers.

Ninjaty -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/4/2014 1:08:28)

@above: Actually,yes. When something gets it's power adjusted, it's because it wasn't where it was meant to be. Things don't just get buffed on a whim, but rather because they need to in order to be where they should. If DmK wasn't meant to have it's current power, it never would have gotten it. Especially since it was made to sound completely unbeatable, and was made with the intent of being the most powerful class in the game (by far, I might add).

Faerdin -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/4/2014 1:18:00)

I think the point Mordred is trying to make is that such a buff may not have been altogether necessary and therefore overkill. Which is an understandable view. On one hand, there are people who feel that dealing 300% increased damage allows them to progress through the game faster and take in the story/artwork without being hindered by their choices. But on the other, that increased damage does also have the unfortunate side effect of making Doom Knight's Skills irrelevant; it is the 300% damage more than anything else that is widely acknowledged about the Class nowadays.

Sora To Hoshi -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/4/2014 10:05:47)

I just got this class and it's pretty darn awesome. Can't wait for the next war when I'm sure I'll be using it a lot.

Talion -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/4/2014 23:16:17)

farming would be a pain in the butt without DmK. I use something else only if I want to challenge myself and only for a boss. Some people say it's game breaking, but I say that when you reach max level and realize how pitiful is the strength difference between lvl 80 and 60, you do want something that makes your strength worthy of your level.

Never ever nerf it.

salene -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/5/2014 1:57:08)

I have never personally owned it, but it seems to be the most OP armor in game :D

The_Insomniac_Of_Lore -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/5/2014 4:59:30)

DmK is, to me at least, akin to a plow or a sickle. A farming tool. Dmk is the "win button" I use when I don't feel like going through a quest a dozen times at length to get the one drop that is the right level for me (and using the end-quest shops seems... dirty). For most quests I use a different armor the first time through (pyromancer being my favorite, but DL is growing on me) and use DmK if I need to repeat it.
And yes, it is most in it's element when being used to stomp the living daylights out of hapless ground troops.

WHITE DRAGON MAGE -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/18/2014 7:59:29)

In my opinion people shouldn't be in too much of a hurry to become a doomknight because it could make it easy to become soft, I have spent all my time on this game so far not a doomknight and I have become one of the strongest characters in the game for stats, weapons and accessories, so when I have the doomknight armour I will be that much stronger. And I am not just saying this because I'm full of myself, I have compared myself to many other characters including the characters considered the strongest in game using the pvp battles to see their stats and peoples character detail pages to see the weapons, accessories and classes, and if you don't believe me you can do the same to check out my character.

AugustoCP -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (3/18/2014 11:02:09)

What is there to even say about DoomKnight?

It's OP. It's incredibly OP. It's SUPPOSED to be OP. It's good as it is. Focus on other classes who need upgrades more urgently, like Ninja, Pirate, etc.

Dragesvard Warrior -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/20/2014 10:04:58)

Its SO OP... I 2 hit Normal Mode Akilroth... 2 HITS ON THE FIRE PRIMAL DRAGON (Granted the first hit was a critical...)!

AND IT JUST MOPPED THE FLOOR WITH EXTREME AKILROTH!

Sadly... It took 2 tries to Kill MELT-FACE Akilroth... I accidentally died by using Void... wiped out all my HP... Round 2 needed a secondary doomknight to help... and BOY did it take less time to kill that beast!

P.S. Apparently you keep your guests if you go through the whole quest... idk if its either way or only Meltface Mode... But BOY 2 doomknights in one party are devastating!

Azan -> RE: =DF= DoomKnight Discussion Thread (4/20/2014 18:51:19)

Even if I never owned DmK, I had the chance to experience it against Akriloth by bringing one as a guest. Even RiftWalker, which can unleash enormous damage in one turn, does not stand against it. It is clearly made of pure OPness.
