  • lightriftwalker122 -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 16:23:27)

    i like the class good dmg and defense i really like the rebirth skill . its a very good class.

    Dracojan -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 16:25:57)

    i love the animation of rebirth but dont particularly like anything else. i sold the class and my opinion is based on facts that may not be quite up to date. idk if the class is even useful.

    Mordred -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 16:45:31)

    The class should have most of its skilled locked to Fire and Magic. It doesn't make sense that it deals weapon damage and element when it's meant to be a Fire wizard. :/

    The Odor -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 16:52:29)

    Mordred: I figure its so more users can use it. I agree about the Fire part, at least to some extent (Most skills but maybe not all of them) but I think locking it to magic would keep a bit to many people from using it.

    I really like Pyromancer. Its extreme defense is great, I'd say second only to Dragonlord. Helped me beat the Cyseros apprentice quest at long last.

    Mordred -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 16:58:31)

    That's the problem. DF caters classes so pretty much everyone can use them, despite making no thematic sense. Why wouldn't a wizard of fire deal Magic damage with his spells? There's little to no RPG aspect to this. Yeah, sure it'd keep some people from using it effectively. But there'd be other classes that can be used effectively.

    Tigirosa -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 19:33:06)

    I like this class. Cool animations, 3 healing skills and 3 strong DOT's make this armor user almost imposible to kill if you use it corectly.
    This is probably the only armor who can use all potential of bonus damage weapons. Combination with these weapons makes Pyromancer even better killing machine then DmK.

    DragonlordKhan -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 21:28:25)

    Let's see; there are powerful DoTs, reliable stun skills, nerfs, buffs, amazing animations, FLAMING HAIR, glowing eyes, fire tatoos, phoenix wings and heal skills that make you near unkillable. What's not to love? [:D]
    When it came out, I was really surprised at how it was laid out. I thought we'd be blasting fireballs the sizes of houses at our foes! But instead, we lash at them with beautiful, and deadly, examples of fire's power. A nice idea, and a very well executed, but very difficult to execute, class.

    Firos -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 23:37:37)

    Personally, I find Pyromancer to be the perfect DC class. It's more powerful, as befitting a DC class, it has a specific theme that is interesting, it's very VERY well done style-wise, and it puts us as a foil of another character (Namely Xan).

    I genuinely could not think of a way to make it better except maybe a few animation changes.

    Faerdin -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 1:26:49)

    Pyromancer is a really fun Dragon Coin Class to play around with- beautifully animated and really creative in avoiding the Pyromancer = complete destruction stereotype- but I have always preferred enTropy. It has superior offensive capability and it feels as though enTropy is not all that far behind Pyromancer in terms of defensive options. It cannot accomplish quite as staggering a recovery as Pyromancer can and is not capable of Blinding, but enTropy is generally the more reliable healer (Vampiric Renewal is incredible) and has Skills like Putrefying Being and Rot up its sleeves to delay damage.

    It does have a wide variety of DoTs, debuffs, and Healing Skills that make it a very powerful Class. Rebirth and Fire Chains are magnificent, and it is very helpful that Lava Fountain is a difficult Stun to resist like Putrefying Being. But with Warmth being a comparatively weak Healing Skill with a long cooldown, it seems to struggle in attaining the constant healing capability of enTropy or even (Arguably) DragonLord. Rebirth is astounding, but it can only be used so many times (Often only once) over the course of a battle.

    That might just be me, though, and I can understand that. The Class is still beautiful and effective. :)

    @Mordred: Diversity in Class damage types such as making Pyromancer's Skills strictly Magic could make the decision to use a certain Class more significant and make Scythes more valuable as Weapons. It is true that in DragonFable's present form, it can almost be too easy for a player to leap from one Class to the next and effectively use them without equipment or Stat Build adjustment. Though that may just be a reflection of the casual nature of DragonFable's players.
    @Firos: While Pyromancer's offensive capability might not be special compared to other Classes, its defensive options are pretty nice even in comparison to DragonLord. Blinding, healing, and a nigh irresistable Stun (In addition to a smaller second Stun)... To say the least, not too shabby.
    @DragonlordKhan: And the flaming hair. Gotta love that flaming hair. xD

    No, I think its a perfect class! The animations are amazing too.

    Very true. I wouldn't exactly say UNKILLABLE, but surely makes you hard to kill with all that defensivene

    My favorite part about the armor- Protect yourself while the opponents are damaged by the DoTs

    Midnightsoul -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 3:08:22)

    I have to say that to me, it's a little slow.

    Sflamin -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 7:53:35)

    Nice class. Great animations and healing but a still bit inferior to Ent and Kathool. Its damage is average and defense loses to DL in longer boss battles. Still, it is a fun class to have and definately worth 1800 Dcs. When equiped with Ice dragon weapons, no humans shall stand against the might of the Pyromancer.

    Lemonus -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 8:39:42)

    Is Paper Cannon by any chance, supposed to reference to something? :0

    Faerdin -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 14:50:57)

    I am not quite sure, but I would not be surprised if it was. Malcifer and Blaze Blue were references to Howl's Moving Castle and Blazblue. There may yet have been another reference in Paper Cannon since it is a unique and unexpected sort of thing for a Pyromancer to do. Then again, like Fire Chains, it may have just been a reference to the player's use of a Pyronomicon. ;)

    Xanaomin -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/15/2013 21:53:41)

    Heh, I love the Pyromancer class, as well. The anims are nice, it has a cheap usually instakill move, and the regen is fantastic. I think I've only ever had to rebirth once... and that was to regain more mana, not health. The only bad thing I can see is how Blaze Blue is pretty much an auto attack split up in 1/6th hits. Kinda feels like a waste of mana, which is sad, considering how neat an animation it is.

    Lemonus -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/16/2013 8:58:42)

    I kinda got the Blazblue reference :P Though for Paper Cannon, why would anyone rip out the pages of a whole book.just to cast a single fire beam that can be done without doing so? :0 So it just HAS ref something!

    Looks like a great class with great animations but too bad I won't be able to get it anytime soon...

    Rayen -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/16/2013 10:58:48)

    Pyromancer truly is a beautiful and well-balanced class and is certainly one of the best for difficult boss battles or long quests.
    My three favourite things about the class would be:
    1. Flaming hair - it may often be said that our hero is 'hot headed', but this is never more true than with Pyromancer. I almost think it's worth getting the class JUST for the hair.
    2. Rebirth - not only is the animation lovely, but the concept of fire having a restorative quality is so underrated. Pheonix's (Pheonii? PheoEvilUndeadPenguinmancerInATophat's?) are also a lovely concept and rebirth captures their elegance (death just being part of the life-cycle) perfectly.
    3. Base resistances - I just LOVE the fact that Pyromancer automatically gives you 5 resist to Ice, Water and Fire. I know it isn't a major defensive addition, but it just makes the class seem so much more believable. I honestly wish that more classes did this.

    Three criticisms or dislikes:
    1. I agree with what many people have said that some, if not most (or even all if you want to go to such extremes), of Pyromancer's skills should be locked to fire element. I disagree that they should be locked to magic, as that brings too many complications in with other classes and is unfair to those who can't access the class's full power simply due to their base class/weapons or some other such.
    2. Something about the class just feels like it needs to be more 'firey'. Its skills are certainly 'fire-based', but I'd like to see more actual FIRE...as in flames and the likes. I also think that the class needs a slight damage buff (maybe just multiply everything - including warmth - by 1.1-1.2) to be on par overall with the other best DC classes.
    3. Although the appearance of the class is nearly perfect, its one major flaw is that (with the female version, in any case) the character's back is too arched/their shoulders too high or the neck too far forward. Something about the class's appearance just seems a little off in that regard.

    Overall a very adaptable, fun and challenging class to play perfectly, as its style changes between enemies. 8.5 out of 10 : )

    OH.MY.GOSH!!!!! favorite armor ever! (duh, im a pyromancer!)
    that is all i have to say

    I see your point but I think that locking players out of classes because they chose the wrong base class is a bad idea. My main is a Warrior but I still want to use magicy classes like Necromancer and Soulweaver on occasion. If Pyromancer was Fire and magic only then most non Mage characters would left out in the cold on Pyromancer (snigger). If classes were released every month or two like in AQW* then it wouldn't matter much if there was a class that only catered to a certain build every now and then. But DF classes are pretty big events that only occur once or twice a year if that so I'll take the "It makes no sense but who cares? Use the class however you like" option over "Oh, You're a Mage? Sorry, no Berserker or Knight classes for you!"[:)]

    *I haven't played AQW for over a year now so the class release schedule might have changed.

    That's the point. And it's a fairly moot point, because you can cheaply change your stats regardless of your base class. It wouldn't lock people out for choosing Warrior or Rogue as their starter class, it would only lock those without INT.

    Yes, classes are rare releases. But it's that much harder for them to feel different from one another when you can use each class equally effectively. "Oh, hey, new Pyromancer class. Too bad SoulWeaver's so much better at offense". If SoulWeaver favored DEX users and Pyromancers INT users, they'd be available to entirely different builds, and allow your character to actually grow into certain roles. There is little to no actual RPG aspect when you can use any class.

    Dragonman -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/17/2013 12:06:46)

    Save Guardian, this is the one armor I don't have.

    I loved testing it though, it had sweet animations.

    bokterier -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/18/2013 17:18:03)

    It's perfect. Absolutely perfect!
    Would really want something just as awesome as the Pyromancer. It even got some Xan. (Walking animations) :D

    pitties -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/18/2013 18:44:11)

    you dont even NEED str/int/dex to do damage! Just 200 end is enough to master any play style! SO anybody could still use pyromancer.

    Talion -> RE: =DF= Pyromancer Discussion Thread (8/18/2013 19:16:46)

    Pretty awesome strategical class, but unless it gets a decent damage buff, it's equal to DL in power, according to me. Too many DoTs, not enough special effects.
