A Guide to Alchemy Creations and Consumables

Welcome to the guide of Alchemy. In this thread you will be provided information regarding AQWorld's Alchemy map, as well as requirements to craft potions, and or how to use them, and where to use them. Also, I will be providing tips on how to use these potions in PvP map areas. Let us begin...

Note: A big thanks to Hatter3721, Ingo and Alaina for creating the previous guides which I have used in Alchemy combined to form this guide!

Note 2: I will be referring to stats in AQW (ex. Wisdom, Melee, etc.). Refer to this handy dandy page to learn more about stats!

A. Introduction

The art of alchemy is a powerful one, only known to a select few. Luckily for you, they are willing to share their knowledge.
By combining reagents in the Chemicotron, you, our adventurer, can learn how to craft potions, tonics and elixirs.

However, alchemy takes time to master, and it is understandable if one needs to devote their hours to something else. That's why one can buy select potions from already mastered alchemists! You will be able to purchase select pre-made alchemy creations from:

Alina in /alchemyacademy
Reens in /arcangrove
As'iiur in /airstorm

There is one last way to obtain potions, but it is entirely dependent on where you live, so the service may not available in some countries; that is to randomly win them as a prize from Sponzard. Who knew that brushes and toothpaste were so useful!

B. What is the difference between Potions, Tonics, Elixirs, and Unstable Mixtures?

The 3 different types of consumables you can create each have different attributes. The fourth consumable is a mixture that could go under elixir, potion, or tonic.

If you know how to use these to your advantage, potions become a powerful tool in any battle.

Potions:
Example: Honor Potion

Potions have short durations, and are best used during a battle.
Potions can have one of 4 effects:

  • Reduce damage taken
  • Increase damage dealt
  • Restore Health
  • Restore Mana

Tonics:
Example: Brilliance Tonic

Tonics have long durations, and are best used before a battle.
Tonics can have one of 7 effects.; boosting your core stats or reducing damage taken:

  • Increase Strength
  • Increase Dexterity
  • Increase Intelligence
  • Increase Endurance
  • Increase Wisdom
  • Increase Luck

Elixirs:
Example: Swiftness Elixir

Elixirs, like Tonics, have long durations, and are therefore best used before a battle.
Elixirs can have many affects:

  • Increase Critical Hit Rate
  • Increase Hit Chance
  • Increase Amount Healed from abilities
  • Increase Recovery
  • Increase Haste
  • Increase Evasion
  • Increase Health Rengeration
  • Increase Critical Hit Power
  • Increase Attack Power
  • Increase Spell Power

Unstable Mixtures:
Example: Unstable Shield Potion vs. Shield Potion

Often, when you make an elixir, potion, or tonic using the Dragon Runestone, you will create what is known as an unstable mixture. These are unstable, more powerful versions of other mixtures you can make. Some of them are so powerful that they will cause another stat to decrease in power until the effect ends! Unstable mixtures will be denoted with the word "Unstable" before the item's name.

C. Alchemy Game

This is the mini-game where you can create your own potions!

Note: You will not always make a elixir, potion, or tonic when playing the Alchemy Game.

Alchemy requires the use of two reagents per brewing. Combining these reagents in different ways will have different effects.

Reagents can be created through alchemy, they can be dropped by monsters, or may be bought with Dragon Runestones.

When making a potion, you must first combine two reagents and a runestone. The two reagents determine the effects of the potion, whereas the runestone will determine the strength of the mixture.

The 4 runestones that are available, in order of increasing power, are:

  • Jera
  • Uruz
  • Fehu
  • Gebo

Note: There are also Dragon Runestones, which you can purchase from Alina for 15 ACs. This type of runestone will result in a more powerful varient of the specific potion, but can only be used once.

When you first begin the Alchemy Game, you can choose one of two options.

The first option allows you to pick your own reagents, and experiment.
The second option takes you to a menu where you can pick which potion you would like to craft.

The goal of the game is to mix your two chosen reagents.

You must continuously keep your potion hot enough for it to have a good output, but not so hot that it overheats.

If you successfully fill up the bottle with your potion, you will be rewarded an item! This can be another reagent, elixir, potion, tonic, or quest item.

Note: There will be a separate guide for the alchemy mini-game (Coming soon!). The rest of the mini-game will be covered for now on this Wiki Page.

D. Using Potions

Now that you know how to make your own potions and who to go to when you want to buy potions, it's time to examine each potion closely! After all, what's the use of a potion if you don't even know how to use it correctly?

Note: You may notice that multiple potions have the same rec'/class rec'/use when/don't use when, but that is (most of the time) intended! Lots of potions have almost the exact same powers.

1. Reens' Potions /join arcangrove

Health Potion
Recommendation: This potion is recommended in PvP if you don't have your healing class equipped. It's a pretty basic, use-when needed item.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those that don't have much Health Points.
Use When: You have a low amount of HP left.
Don't Use When: You have a high amount of HP left.

Mana Potion
Recommendation: If you ever equip a class that consumes a lot of your mana, I recommend you use this.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those which tend to use a lot of mana. Especially good for Shamans when you're in a tight spot.
Use When: You have less than 40% of Mana.
Don't Use When: You still have over 40% of Mana.

Potion Of Evasion
Recommendation: Extremely helpful in all types of battles, from farming, to boss battles, to PvP.that is.
Class Recommendation: This is very useful for classes which don't survive very long in battle, classes that hit high but at a slower pace than others, or even a booster to Rogue's (And all Rogue-type classes) already near-invincible at dodging!
Use When: This potion can be used at anytime you need a decent Evasion and slight speed boost, but mostly recommended when you are below half of your HP.
Don't Use When: N/A
Duration: The Evasion buff lasts for 20 seconds.

Potion of Speed
Recommendation: Once you ingest this potion, you will be ;faster than you can imagine, your auto-attack will get a nice speed boost (Nearly as fast, or even faster than Rogues), and your cooldowns will be much, much shorter, allowing constant use of skills.
Class Recommendation: This is perfect for all classes, especially those that are already quick on their feet.
Use When: Useful at any time, but it's best for it to be used at the start of the battle.
Don't Use When: N/A
Duration: The Speed buff lasts for 17 seconds.

2. Alina's Potions /join alchemyacademy

Clarity Cordial

Recommendation: This has nearly no effect on Fighter Type classes, and is only useful on Caster Classes. Wisdom increases a Caster Classes Hit Rate, Dodge Rate, Haste, Critical Hit Rate, and HP. NOTE: The 50% boost only affects your base stats, NOT including the "+" numbers. Example, if you have 80 Wisdom first, after using Clarity Cordial, you'll have 120 Wisdom.
Use When: BEFORE the start of the battle. Clarity Cordial gives a decent HP boost to Caster Class. If you use it during the battle, you will still get the HP boost, but your HP will not be healed by the amount given by this potion. (Example: Your HP before the battle is 1500/2000, the potion grants an amount of 300 HP, therefore making it 1800/2300. IF you used it DURING the battle, your HP would be 1500/2300)
Don't Use When: Currently battling an opponent.

Endurance Draught
Recommendation: This is the opposite of Clarity Cordial. It's only useful for classes that rely on END, namely Fighter Classes. So like Clarity Cordial, you're Endurance will get a decent 50% boost, but it only affects your base Endurance. (So if you have 80 END, after using the potion, you'll have 120 END for a brief amount of time.)
Use When: See Clarity Cordial.
Don't Use When: Currently fighting an opponent.

Felicitous Philtre
Recommendation: Like Clarity Cordial and Endurance Draught, this potion boosts a certain stat by 50%, which is LUK, and also like those two potions, it only boosts your BASE LUK. This is pretty useless for any classes with low LUK. I suggest looking at a class with a high amount of LUK, before even planning on using it. This is great for CardClasher, considering it has a high base LUK, so its crits will be much more higher than usual.
Use When: Anytime.
Don't Use When: N/A

Potion of Inscrutable Motion
Recommendation: Since the effects are random, I can't give an exact recommendation. So basically, this is good for all classes.
Use When: Anytime during or before the battle.
Don't Use When: N/A

3. As'iiur/Windstorm's Potions /join airstorm

Airthur Vitae
Recommendation: If you ever equip a class that consumes a lot of mana,, I recommend you this.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those which tend to use a lot of mana. Especially good for Shamans when you're in a tight spot.
Use When: You have less than 40% of Mana.
Don't Use When: You still have over 40% of Mana

Bottled Lightning
Recommendation: In normal battles, I don't recommend you using this. However, in PvP, in a small room with ALL your enemies, yes, zap away! Good for all classes.
Use When: In PvP, monster farming and bosses.
Don't Use When: You are battling strong monsters with a low amount of HP left.

Breath of Life
Recommendation: This potion is recommended for PvP if you don't have a healing class equipped. It's a pretty basic, use-when necessary item.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those that don't have much Health Points.
Use When: You have a low amount of HP left.
Don't Use When: You have a high amount of HP left.

Fleet Foot Philtre
Recommendation: Extremely helpful in all types of battles, from farming to boss battles to PvP (Even though it can annoy people)
Class Recommendation: This is very useful for classes which don't survive very long in battle, classes that hit high but at a slower pace than others, or even a booster to Rogue's (And all Rogue-like classes) already near-invincible at dodging!
Use When: This potion can be used at anytime you need a decent Evasion and slight speed boost, but mostly recommended when you are below half of your HP.
Don't Use When:N/A
Duration: The Evasion buff lasts for 20 seconds.

Steal Their Breath
Recommendation: Yet another handy scroll, that is a good follow-up scroll for Scroll of ice Shard. You can use it with any class, but it's also a good match for classes that already have a Life-Stealing skill. Follow that skill up with this, and you can steal more HP from your opponents, and increase the amount of HP you regain when you're desperate.
Use When: Anytime you are desperate for HP.
Don't use when: When your health it above 60%.

Wind at your Back
Recommendation: Once you ingest this potion, you will be ;faster than you can imagine, your auto-attack will get a nice speed boost (Nearly as fast, or even faster than Rogues), and your cooldowns will be much, much shorter, allowing constant use of skills.
Class Recommendation: This is perfect for all classes, especially those that are already quick on their feet.
Use When: Useful at any time, but it's best for it to be used at the start of the battle.
Don't Use When: N/A
Duration: The Speed buff lasts for 17 seconds.

Winds of Fury
Recommendation: Once again, another good follow-up item. It's good to use this with classes that also deal Damage-Over-Time effects, allowing more damage to be given to your target.
Use When: Use it at the start of the battle, it's good to put a starting effect on your target.
Don't Use When: You are battling a weak monster.

E. Using Tonics

Tonics should be used very carefully. Since all tonics are used to boost your stats, know what build you are using for your class, and use the appropriate tonic to help you enhance your build.

A bad scenario example would be someone equipped with Mage Class using the Brawn Tonic. The only skill that would even benefit from this tonic would be the auto-attack skill since it is Physical.

Refer to here if you're ever not sure what tonics to use!

Note: I will be using the word Caster Class and Magical/Magic Class. Those 3 different names mean the same type of class!
Note 2: You may notice that multiple potions have the same rec./class rec./use when/don't use when, but that is (most of the time) intended! Lots of potions have almost the exact same powers.

1. Alchemy Tonics /join alchemy

Basic Brawn Tonic

Don't Use When: You want to do more damage with a physical move, or have no magical moves in your class.

Brute Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this for melee classes or classes that have more physical moves than magical ones. Since this tonic boosts your strength, only physical attacks will receive boosted damage. Melee classes benefit more from higher strength, as it increases their chance to crit.
Class Recommendation: Melee Classes the most, but any class that has more physical moves than magical moves.
Use When: You want a physical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You want to do more damage with a magical move, or have no physical moves in your class.

Chance Tonic
Recommendation: The thing I like the most about the luck stat is that you can enhance it for any build. Use this potion when you want to raise the chance to do a critical strike!
Class Recommendation: All classes.
Use When: You want to boost the chance of getting a critical hit.
Don't Use When: Using a move that crits 100% of the time. (Ex. Alpha Omega's Bunker Buster)

Courage Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this for tank builds, as those rely the most on high hp in order to survive. However, using an endurance boost for any build never hurts!
Class Recommendation: Tank classes like Blood Titan.
Use When: You want an hp boost.
Don't Use When: N/A

Cunning Tonic
Recommendation: I highly recommended this for Magic classes, since wisdom boosts haste, evasion, and critical hit chances. However, if you are looking only to boost evasion (blocking hits), then Melee classes can benefit off of a dexterity boost.
Class Recommendation: Magic Classes the most, but Melee Classes can also benefit from an evasion boost.
Use When: You want to boost haste, evasion and crits for Magical Classes, or want to boost evasion with Melee Classes.
Don't Use When: N/A

Class Recommendation: Melee Classes the most, but Magical Classes can also benefit from an evasion boost.
Use When: You want to boost haste, evasion and crits for Melee Classes, or want to boost evasion with Magical Classes.
Don't Use When: N/A

Might Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this for melee classes or classes that have more physical moves than magical ones. Since this tonic boosts your strength, only physical attacks will receive boosted damage. Melee classes benefit more from higher strength, as it increases their chance to crit.
Class Recommendation: Melee Classes the most, but any class that has more physical moves than magical moves.
Use When: You want a physical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You want to do more damage with a magical move, or have no physical moves in your class.

Mind Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this for classes with magical attacks since this tonic boosts your intellect. An attack that is categorized as "magical" will have its attack boosted by 14%! Furthermore, if you have a caster class equipped, your haste will be boosted!
Class Recommendation: Caster Classes the most, but any class that has a magical move you want to do boosted damage.
Use When: You want a magical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You want to do more damage with a physical move, or have no magical moves in your class.

Sage Tonic
Recommendation: Classes with high intelligence.
Class Recommendation: Healer, Oracle, Bard.
Use When: Before battle.
Don't Use When: N/A

Skill Tonic
Recommendation: This tonic that boosts dexterity is most recommended for Melee classes, since dexterity boosts haste, evasion, and critical hit chances. However, if you are looking only to boost evasion (blocking hits), then Magic classes can benefit off of a dexterity boost.
Class Recommendation: Melee Classes the most, but Magical Classes can also benefit from an evasion boost.
Use When: You want to boost haste, evasion and crits for Melee Classes, or want to boost evasion with Magical Classes.
Don't Use When: N/A

Power Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this for melee classes or classes that have more physical moves than magical ones. Since this tonic boosts your strength, only physical attacks will receive boosted damage. Melee classes benefit more from higher strength, as it increases their chance to crit.
Class Recommendation: Melee Classes the most, but any class that has more physical moves than magical moves.
Use When: You want a physical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You want to do more damage with a magical move, or have no physical moves in your class.

Unstable Brawn Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this only for classes with physical attacks since this tonic boosts your strength. An attack that is categorized as "physical" will have its attack boosted by 18%! Furthermore, if you have a melee class equipped, your haste will be boosted! However, keep in mind that your endurance will be reduced by 10%, which means your hp will be decreased. Use only when you have a good amount of hp left.
Class Recommendation: Physical Classes, not worth it for any other type of class.
Use When: You want a physical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You are low on hp or plan to use magical attacks.

Unstable Bright Tonic
Recommendation: Classes with high intelligence and high endurance.
Class Recommendation: Healer, Defender.
Use When: Before battle. However you should use it when you feel you are not being attacked.
Don't Use When: You are being attacked.

Unstable Brilliance Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this only for classes with magical attacks since this tonic boosts your intellect. An attack that is categorized as "magical" will have its attack boosted by 18%! Furthermore, if you have a caster class equipped, your haste will be boosted! However, keep in mind that your endurance will be reduced by 10%, which means your hp will be decreased. Use only when you have a good amount of hp left.
Class Recommendation: Caster Classes, not worth it for any other type of class.
Use When: You want a magical move to do more damage.
Don't Use When: You are low on hp or plan to use physical attacks.

Unstable Cunning Tonic
Recommendation: I recommend using this only with Melee classes, since they will be getting the most benefit out of this tonic boosting haste, evasion, and critical hit chances. Unlike the regular tonics that boost dexterity, this one has a side-effect since it's so powerful, making a Magic Class actually suffer when this is drunk. This side-effect is a lowered endurance stat, which means your hp will suffer during the length of the tonic.
Class Recommendation: Melee Classes, not worth it for any other class.
Use When: You want an increase in haste, evasion, and critical hit chances.
Don't Use When: You are low on hp or plan to use a Magical Class.

Unstable Foresight Tonic
Recommendation: I suggest only using this tonic for Magical Classes only since Melee classes receive only a slight boost in evasion when using this. Magical Classes receive a haste, evasion, and crit boost. The downside is a reduce in END, which is why just an evasion boost would be not beneficial.
Class Recommendation: Magical Classes
Use When: You want your haste, evasion, or crit chance boosted.
Don't Use When: You are low on hp or have a Melee Class equipped.

Unstable Insight Tonic
Recommendation: Classes with high wizard enhancement's and status.
Class Recommendation: Mage.
Use When: Arcane shield is active.
Don't Use When: Arcane shield is inactive.

Unstable Judgement Tonic
Recommendation: I suggest only using this tonic for Magical Classes only since Melee classes receive only a slight boost in evasion when using this. Magical Classes receive a haste, evasion, and crit boost. The downside is a reduce in END, which is why just an evasion boost would be not beneficial.
Class Recommendation: Magical Classes
Use When: You want your haste, evasion, or crit chance boosted.
Don't Use When: You are low on hp or have a Melee Class equipped.

Unstable Mind Tonic
Recommendation: Classes with high intelligence and endurance.
Class Recommendation: Healer.
Use When: inhibition is active.
Don't Use When: Target is not buffed with inhibition.

Wise Tonic
Recommendation: I highly recommended this for Magic classes, since wisdom boosts haste, evasion, and critical hit chances. However, if you are looking only to boost evasion (blocking hits), then Melee classes can benefit off of a dexterity boost.
Class Recommendation: Magic Classes the most, but Melee Classes can also benefit from an evasion boost.
Use When: You want to boost haste, evasion and crits for Magical Classes, or want to boost evasion with Melee Classes.
Don't Use When: N/A

2. SponZard Elixirs

Globrush Sparklebeam Elixir
Recommendation: If you ever equip a class that consumes a lot of your mana, I recommend you use this.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those which tend to use a lot of mana. Especially good for Shamans when you're in a pinch.
Use When: You have less than 40% of Mana.
Don't Use When: You still have over 40% of Mana.

Globrush (R) Lightbeam Elixir
Recommendation: This elixir is recommended if you don't have your healing class equipped. It's a pretty basic, use-when needed item.
Class Recommendation: All classes, especially those that don't have much Health Points.
Use When: You have a low to medium amount of HP left.
Don't Use When: You have a high amount of HP left.

Elixir of Haste
Recommendation: Since this elixir boosts your haste, it's best to use this when you have a stealth class like Rogue equipped since it relies on high dodge to function at its maximum. However, any class can benefit off of a boosted haste!
Class Recommendation: Stealth Classes like Rogue, Ninja, Assassin, etc.
Use When: You want to boost your haste in order to dodge better.
Don't Use When: N/A

Elixir of Regeneration
Recommendation: This elixir has a Heal over Time effect. This elixir works well with classes that do not have a healing skill/ability or do not have the passive that makes them receive health points from dodging.

Use When: The class does not have a healing ability or passive.
Don't Use When: You have a comfortable amount of health points.

G. Food

Food! Wonderful food! Who knew food had such magical powers? Looking for the best time to eat your Boar's feet? Or when you need that cuppycake sugar rush? This post will tell you when to use that extra energy in battle!

1. Sandsea Food /join sandsea

Cuppycake
Recommendation: It's pretty much a sacrificial kind of food. You'll gain a near-good haste boost, but at the cost of your Hit Rate, meaning you're chances of striking an enemy are a little smaller than before. It's good for some quick-hitting classes, but I wouldn't recommend it for all battles.
Use When: Anytime you need a Haste boost, namely at the start of the battle.
Don't Use When: You're at Death's Doorstep. (Meaning when you're about to die.)

Water of Life
Recommendation: It gives an AWESOME Heal-Over-Time effect, plus it Debuffs the Damage you receive! You could combine it with Defender's Safeguard, making you near-invincible, or you can combine it with any class that has a good healing ability, which could make your HP NEVER drop below 1000. (Depending on your level.)

Use When: Either when you are below half of your HP, or you could use it at the start of the battle to keep your HP high. (Not recommended all the time.)
Don't Use When: You aren't really desperate for a Heal-Over-Time effect.
Duration: The Heal-Over-Time effect lasts for 20 seconds.

Healthy Munchies
Recommendation: Well this is an AC perishable, just so you all know. However, this is near-invincibility for a short amount of time.
Use When: Once health falls to 10%.
Don't Use When: Outside of combat, or when victory is certain.
Note: Still subject to damage from Warrior/Warlord/Beast Warrior's Prepared Strike.

MEAT
Recommendation: In turn for 100 ACs, you will double ALL your damage for a short amount of time. This works well with any class (unless you're aiming to deal low amounts of damage). It is especially useful with ones that deal high amounts of damage like Warrior, Vindicator of They, Berserker, etc. and can help out ones that deal low amounts of damage.
Use When: Best used before or during a battle.
Don't Use When: When the battle is about to end, (unless you're in a pinch, that is being extremely low on health) or when you're about to die, and the opponent is far from dying.

2. DoomFood /join lightguard

Holy Wasabi
Recommendation: It's a good match for Undead Slayer, to go on an Undead Rage killing fest.
Use When: Use it anytime you need to kill a lot of Undead, also a good thing to use on Undead Bosses.
Don't Use When: You don't need to kill a lot of Undead monsters. (Unless you want to kill them fast), and obviously not on Non-Undead monsters.
Duration: Holy Wasabi lasts 30 seconds with a 60 second cooldown.

Hole-y Cheese
Recommendation: This potion works exactly the same as Endurance Draught, in fact, it's Endurance Draught with a STR boost. Once again, this item increases your BASE stats, it does not include the "+" stats, so this is pretty much only useful for classes that have a high amount of END.
Use When: BEFORE the battle. Reason: See Endurance Draught.
Don't Use When: You're not using a a class that as a high amount of END.
Duration: The STR and END Buff lasts for 30 seconds.

Aqua Lumina
Recommendation: HoT and damage reduction from Undead. Probably only useful against hard-hitting Undead enemies like Noxus or that nasty Five-Headed Dracolich in the Necropolis.
Use When: Like all HoT-applying items I prefer to use this towards the 50% health marker.
Don't Use When: You're not fighting an Undead enemy.

Light Yogurt
Recommendation: This food item works best with classes that are slow. The Light Yogurt helps those classes that have a slow auto attack specifically. Works well with DoomKnight Warrior, Warrior and its variations.
Use When: Anytime.
Don't Use When: This doesn’t apply since it works anytime.

3. Oishii's Cooking /join bloodtusk

Braised Boar with Oishii's Secret Spices
Recommendation: This meal in theory, works exactly like MEAT, and costs the same even. Unless you want to make some "Critical Hit" record, it isn't necessary to buy it.
Use When: Before or in the start of a battle.
Don't Use When: You are not battling or when you're about to die.
Duration: Currently unknown.

Vulture Meat with Burrberry Juice
Recommendation: According to the description, this meal will make you untouchable! You will not be hit for a short amount of time (Unknown whether skills can break this) but, it costs ACs.
Use When: Mostly in boss battles and/or long-term battles.
Don't Use When: You are about to die or when you aren't battling.

Trollola Terrine
Recommendation: This is pretty much an item version of Footwork. Best for slower STR-based classes without effective healing.
Use When: I'd suggest using this once health drops to around 40%. If you're using Berserker drop this along with Forgone Conclusion at 20% health.
Don't Use When: Using classes like Ninja/Assassin, Leprechaun or Rogue/Renegade/Pirate. You have Shadowblade/Thin Air or Footwork instead.

Boar's Feet In Salted Butter Sauce
Recommendation: This is like healing + On Guard/Hearth's Embrace minus the damage output reduction. Great for bulky classes without reliable healing.
Use When: This is probably best for when your health drops to 50%, otherwise the HoT buff is wasted.
Don't Use When: At the start of the battle.

4. Reens' Blood /join arcangrove

Elders' Blood
Recommendation: A good potion, but with a price. It increases nearly all your stats, but you'll suffer a Damage-Over-Time effect from using it. Not recommended for all encounters, considering it's a Daily Potion. Good for classes that have a high amount of HP, but don't even consider using it if you have a hard time managing your Health.
Use When: Anytime you have a lot, or full Health.
Don't Use When: You have a low amount of HP left. Not recommended for PvP unless you know what you're doing.

Sparrow's Blood
Recommendation: Much like a more powerful version of the Potion of Evasion, but this time with a Heal-Over-Time effect. A Great booster to dodging classes, especially Rogue. A good life-saver for easy-to-die classes.
Use When: You are at half your total HP.
Don't Use When: You have full HP or you're just about to die. (Don't use it at 300 or less HP, it's too risky.)

Viper's Blood
Recommendation: If Dage didn't want this so badly, it would come in REALLY handy. You will gain a decent Haste boost along with a good Critical Chance boost, you might almost hit a critical hit every 1.5 seconds! (Nearly every second if you're a Rogue or Thief class.)
Use When: Use it when times when desperate.
Don't Use When: Just don't blow it off when you have extremely low HP.

Additional notes: Some players might ask "Why would I bother with crafting reagents, or wasting bag space on potions?" Well, That is a good question. You see not all players have maxed bag space. Therefore they do not seem to want to waste any bag space on unnecessary items. The potions are there to help you level up, or rank up your classes, as well as helping you with boss fights, or in a party with friends. These consumables make a big difference when it comes to soloing.

Alchemy Reagents: You may find reagents and their locations here.

Potions: There are several kinds of potions. Here is a full list of all consumable potions.

Consumables for PvP: Many players find it easy to believe that using potions in PvP is a bit degrading. However if you're adventuring for pvp tophies, then the situation isn't the same. Self buff potions are potions that increase your character's critical strike chance, dexterity, or above all any section of your character's status. Some of these potions greatly increases your endurance so that the damage you take is almost above 60% Which is good for when you are in a war zone full of players.

Closing Note: This guide is nowhere near complete, as the wiki and I have yet to make and document every single potion possible in alchemy. My guess is there is a basic, regular, potent, and unstable version of every alchemy potion! If you have any more potions, please post with the information along with the description of the potion. Include the name you would like to have added in the potion section. Thanks!

There is one last way to obtain potions, but it is entirely dependent on where you live, so the service may not available in some countries; that is to randomly win them as a prize from Sponzard. Who knew that brushes and toothpaste was so useful!

Since you used AND, you are required to use a plural. So that makes...

Who knew that brushes and toothpaste were so useful!

I'll keep looking for more typos! [:)]

EDIT1:
quote:

Basic Brawn Tonic
Recommendation: This is good for classes that use fighter enhancements.
Class Recommendation: Enforcer, Defender, Dragonlord, Doomknight.
Use When: Before battle.
Don't Use When: N/A

You forgot a space after your colon. Nothing important, but I happened to catch that. ^^
