  • LordAlmega -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 9:04:00)

    When using potions for ether mana or health armor goes into a siting position and must wait for un stuck button to appear before character can respond again.

    Galez -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 9:14:59)

    I'm going to summarize what i (and other people) said in the design notes thread.

    ChronoZ has a few differences with the shadow hunter class those which are

  • It deal more hit in most of the combo most noticeably in the accuracy combo.
  • The Magic - Magic -Magic combo is a clear status effect instead of a fizzle.
  • The CounterAttack combo is changed with critical boost combo
  • A Rewind ability that allow you to go back by one combo.

    So far i only found one bug (When drinking potion you sit then the un-stick button appeared) and a typo (Combo Rewound)

    That's pretty much what i got.

  • Dracojan -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 9:30:21)

    im a little sad that its a shadow hunter clone. ive got tons of great ideas for skills. it isnt fun to have two classes that work the same.

    rytis155 -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 10:02:31)

    Dracojan: But ChronoZ is more powerful (and more fun) than Shadow Hunter is! :)

    I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that when ChronoZ attacks, it has some lag or delay before doing next move on the same attack. For example: Attack with both swords, a VERY short pause and then an attack with fist.

    So far I really enjoy the class. Fun to use. Gonna enjoy that while I can :D

    Xanaomin -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 10:23:56)

    Personally, I don't like it.
    For one, it's a Shadow Hunter clone. And in my playtesting, a weaker one at that.
    For another, it's very laggy. It can take upwards of 30 seconds before it finally decides to play an attack animation.
    Thirdly, it doesn't... feel like a time class. Sure, you can rewind your combo, but that's it. Other than that, it seems more appropriately a cousin to the Technomancer.

    I might be able to handwave the whole Shadow Hunter clone thing if I felt it were worth it... but I don't. I know that the one of the first design notes posts on the class said that it'd be built similar to the Shadow Hunter, which would be excellent. Make it it's own thing that has combos, but not the exact same combos. Also, I've found that, as I said before, it's weaker than the Shadow Hunter. Particularly the magic skills. When before one could heal for 1/4th health and deal around 400% weapon damage, you're doing the same with this copy at only 120% weapon damage. Through three turns, roughly 40% weapon damage per turn. For such a long buildup to the heal, you're better off casting higher damaging buffs and debuffs, and using a healing potion when needed. The rest of the attacks, though neat and flashy, still do around the same damage, if not less, than the original Shadow Hunter.
    I tried using the armors back to back. Pretty much every time, Shadow Hunter flattened the same foe in less turns than the ChronoZ.

    So.. yeah. I don't like it.

    snakehulk21220 -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 10:34:34)

    i gotta agree with Xanaomin, it is a disappointment sadly considering its the calendar class it should be A. powerful B. unique C. entertaining to play

    its a pretty class so ill give it C, but as far as A and B it doesnt exactly thrill me, i bought the calendar for this class and honestly i hope it gets some changes because its not what i was hoping for honestly

    i hate to sound like i am ungrateful, because im not, i like the idea of the class but if its just a reskinned clone... eh.

    it feels kinda weak tbh and it burns through mana faster than my kathool adept armor

    Midnightsoul -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 11:03:16)

    Yeah, I was really dissapointed by the class. I expected it to be more unique...

    warrior97 -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 11:14:09)

    Overall,the class is a not bad class to use due to usage of combo,particularly with the rewind skill,which allows me to use strong finishing skill almost simultaneously to each other.

    The only complaints would be the lag when executing some moves such as pausing when attacking,but overall,it is a good upgrade of shadow hunter,and keep up the good work,developers.

    ZombiesCoool -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 11:51:51)

    Thank God, a "good work", I was wodering when that would happen, or at least a "Good work, but you could have done better". I tried my hand a programming a couple of times, and while I have not taken a class, true, I had a book, an it is NOT easy. :)

    Azan -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 11:54:50)

    So, basically the class is a buffed version of ShadowHunter. That's fine, however I would really enjoy an instant multi.

    And ChronoZ probably has the best stun in the game. With the number of hits, your enemy just can't resist.

    Rewind is fun too, and ChronoZ deals better instant damage than ShadowHunter. But could the class have a few more unique abilities (like the instant multi, or a mana regen)?

    Overall, good class.

    Alpha Centipede -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 12:42:23)

    Though ChronoZ is similar to ShadowHunter in many ways, the rewind skill adds a new mechanic to it where you could technically chain multiple combos together, which opens up a whole new area in terms of strategy. As Azan mentioned, ChronoZ's stun is also probably the best in-game, with its 10(?)-hit stun beating enTropy's 9-hit stun skill.

    However, there are some drawbacks to this class, namely, the lack of an instant multi, as many above has posted, and the damage output for the magic skill. The magic skill seems to do less damage than the other two offensive skills that ChronoZ has, but this is supplemented by the large damage output that the sword combo dishes out.

    Overall, it's not a bad class, and the animations are quite well-executed, but it still has some room for improvement.

    P.S.: Also, there seems to be a bug where the game gets stuck whenever a potion is consumed. And the damage indicator appears above the enemy instead of the player. Just thought I'd point that out.

    pitties -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 12:50:25)

    hmm it needs more skills. The remaining skills could bejust regular staple skills like multis and mana heals, but it definitely needs more.

    snakehulk21220 -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 13:28:21)

    Pitties there wont likely be any more skills added, shadow hunter is the same way, its base skills available are shrunk because of the combo nature of the class

    my biggest issues with it are:

    -the skills that arent the sword skill feel weak in the damage output

    - it EATS mana to fast

    - no multi

    -not enough "time" based skills, aside from the rewind skill nothing feels really time based for a classed called CHRONOz

    if those were to be fixed id be happy with it

    M31K -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 15:09:14)

    Is more powerful than ShadowHunter.
    I kinda can't stand why people say it isn't time themed class/armor, Tomix said it loads time datas, so it is Chrno armor.
    But this could be maybe buffed:
    - First and second magic combo is kinda weak to ShadowHunter's blind and heal magic combo.
    - Attack is kinda waeker to Shadow hunter's attack
    - Special Attack weapon seem don't activate even weapon is showing. Weapon special attack that can activate on every hit is always working on every armor.

    @Above: ChronoZ have multi attack, it is bow + bow combo attack.

    Note to self: Can't wait to save this armor and see my own TimeKiller Badge.

    pitties -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 15:26:01)

    even with all its combos this class is missing things that made timekiller so good. It needs a "powerboost" skilland maybe also a mana regen skill as it burns up mana too fast. Also, there could be a "blink"skill like from the original chronos that lets you attack twice? Also it needs some unique time based skills of its own rather than just a simple rewind. And finally, I feel that using 3 magic combos and 3 bow combos should also do massive attacks for 40 more mana. That would make ChronoZ alot more powerful.

    ChronoEye -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 17:26:51)

    There's something I figured out with this Class:

    Using Magic combos you will clearly see some 'lag' or whatever happening. It'd be nice to get it fixed. We absolutely need either a new skill, or just a combo, to hit multiple opponents. Oh and, ability to save this Class would be nice once the Calendar Version goes live.

    There's all for now what I wish to happen [:)]

    Azan -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 18:48:07)

    M31K : Yes, it has a multi, but not an instant-multi, which makes it weaker against multiple enemies (it can't even defeat sneevils in one turn). I would suggest, as an improvement, an instant-multi and a damage improvement to the bow-bow combo (that way there'd be a weaker multi which you can use instantly and a stronger multi which needs a combo).

    TheOdd -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 21:26:16)

    I kind of liked the combos, but that's kind of because I like the ShadowHunter class as well (by the way, when will we be able to save that as our class?).

    It felt like it built off of ShadowHunter a bit /too/ much though. Like, the skills feel generally the same with cooler animations. The mana-eating gets to me too, and the only real change/addition that I see is the skill that turns back the combo by one turn. Maybe that could also be a mana-recovering skill, or cost nothing or something? Probably a bad idea, but the class is so reliant on mana that it's pretty serious if it's getting eaten away so quickly. I wouldn't mind the single-turn multi if it cost less. It's 40 MP just to hit with multi, and it feels weak.

    Edit: WOw that critical boost skill is does a surprising amount of damage, even without crit. It's way better than the counter skill before it (Sword-Bow-Magic).

    Mordred -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 21:45:05)

    I personally really like these combo skill classes. All I can really say about it is I'd like to see even more combos and skills to add even more variety.

    that said, though, I don't think this class is as impressive as it should be. That's not to say the class is underwhelming or anything. No, rather, I think it's an inherent problem with how DF battles have worked. DF is built for offensive tactics, and only that. The general mooks and even most bosses don't require strong, multi-turn strategies; just raw damage to end it ASAP. Now, this makes DF's combat "fast-paced", but also makes it shallow because all that matters is getting the most damage out as quickly as possible. this class can't compete with the likes of Riftwalker, KAA, or even other Chrono-classes because how its combos work. I like how combos work, but DF's basic design that hasn't changed is ill-suited to such a playstyle that gives you a more strategic class.

    Lord GrimDusk -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/15/2014 22:54:57)

    Found a glitch. Using a potion freezes game

    IMO... Ugh, it's a normal class...

    Nothing special about this. It isn't a "buffed shadowhunter" and it isn't anything near as fun as the shadowhunter. Time Killer and Chronomancer are time classes, this one is a class that looks like the child of Chronomancer and the Matrix. Except it got more of it's genes from the Matrix. It doesn't have any "freeze time" skills or anything based on time. Based on Data? Yes. Time? Not a hint of it. I wish it was... unique. Some say ChronoCorrupter is a clone of Chronomancer, but it at least has different effects. This class is the same abilities except for Rewind, which I can't even understand. Overall... could've been much, much better.

    snakehulk21220 -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/16/2014 3:04:18)

    Mordred, strategic classes can be done well and fun, but they kinda have to be tweaked out with high quality hp and mp heal skills to compensate for the time they take to set up their combo's to make them as effective as the other classes, though they do take longer so dont ever expect to use one of these combo classes for a war EVER.

    combo classes arent for people that want to speed through things, they are for taking your time

    still this class kills mp like artix kills undead, make the heal skill heal hp AND mp and that would be mitigated (note: DONT lower the hp heal in return, youll just make even more problems)

    Here is a video I made for those who don't use trainers and want to see how the class works and looks

    Midnightsoul -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/16/2014 14:26:41)

    I think in order to make ChronoZ more interesting is if another combo move was added to make even more combos and if everything got buffed in damage and effect.

    I'd also like to see the heal to be buffed greatly to compensate for the amount of turns it takes to get the heal.

    It would also be nice if ChronoZ can have a mana regen skill too.

    Right now, ChronoZ is pretty weak for a Chrono class...

    Xanaomin -> RE: =DF= ChronoZ Testing Discussion Thread (3/16/2014 15:56:46)

    Alright, I did some thinking, and actually came up with some suggestions, if you may.

    Firstly, improve the damage output of the magic attacks. It makes no sense for them to be so weak.

    Now, I thought of a few additional moves/combos that could probably be considered.
    REVAMP: The heal. It'd be nice if it were more like a rewind, after getting to it through the pure magic route, for it to rewind your HP and MP. That'd be a big boon for the class. And it'd not be too overpowered, especially when compared to the likes of Pyromancer that can just do that with a press of a button. Two different buttons, in fact.
    NEW SKILL: Multi. Your first goto for groups of multiple monsters. Hits all of them once, like any other normal multi. It also has a cooldown of 1. Using it starts the multi combo, wherein things branch off and get fun:
    Magic: Using multi -> magic makes an attack that hits five random targets, much like soulweaver's skill.
    Bow: Using multi -> bow would do the same as just doing bow -> bow. Replace bow -> bow with a new combo.
    Sword: Going multi -> sword gives a defence buff for 2 turns. Using this skill puts an additional cooldown on multi of 3 turns, much like the sword final combo putting a large cooldown on it.
    NEW SKILL: Skip. Using this opens up all of your final combos. It has a large cooldown, but it lets you do a three turn stun, five turn blind, heal, sword final, etc. in only two turns rather than 3. Once you do that final, your combos reset as usual, not letting you do all of the finals back to back.

    What do you guys think?
