Matt 1000 -> Being able to reset / change your level (4/23/2014 12:44:28)

I think to stop low level /alt abuse a good way to counter it and have fun in the same time would be either to allow people to change there level once they hit level 40 or for a small fee reset your characters level to lv 1 but keeping all of ur items / record the same.

Some people will say "Why would you want to reset your character??" and to those of you who say that then I say "You don't have to do it". I think this would be a cool feature. Some people may actually do it. I don't like the "Permanent" side of it though.

I remember this idea being suggested many times and I will say my answer to it.

Not supported in the least.

This feature may be all well and good for those who choose to use it, but what about those who don't? This will put a huge damper on wait times especially since level 40's have the smallest player range.

No for the lower end even with the power down all that gear will put newer greenhorn players at an even bigger disadvantage. While the fully equipped problem was taken care off those player will still lack cores which in turn will not only put them at a disadvantage against these level down players but may even discourage them from playing and make them quit.

There are barely any "new players" anyway coming to epic duel most level 40's use alts it would not make any difference just people can focus on there main instead of having hundreds of new accounts and taking up all names.

While this is possibly true, the point is the following:
- now lvl 40's could use all their gear (Platinum's Pride, Azrael's guns) on the still incoming new players, which don't stand a chance
- the new players we have already struggle with Juggernaut and the experienced players using the tactics from their higher lvl alts
-> possibly the few new players quit, leaving ED only with the old long timers = even further shrinking the player numbers on all level ranges

^ Those are also very true. Now that I weigh the pros and cons maybe this is a bad idea. It will be as long as experienced players can pwn inexperienced players at least with better gear.
