youbo -> Newbie helpers (11/15/2014 22:19:17)

In the rather short amount of time since I came back, I noticed and learned that many players do not use the forums for help and information and do plain stupid things.
I don't know why,it seems pretty simple to me but maybe the game is hard to understand for new players? Maybe thats what preventing our playerbase from growing?

I suggest a in-game helper that pop-up when players try do stupid things and help them.

It can be war-related:
For example, when someone attack or use the wrong war objective in a war, they get an pop-up explaining why they should not do that, which one they should attack/use and why.
If a player try to battle while having 10 war item,it tell them that they should use some as they cant earn any more while its capped

Ressource management related:
If a player try to change class with credits without having level-appropriate items in all slot,it tell them that they should equip themself properly first
If a player try to buy an (unique core-less)item while already having another of the same type,it advise to upgrade the other instead since its cheaper
If it detect that a player do not have enough credits to upgrade his items,it point them some easy quests with heavy credits reward
If a player try to buy an limited core while an permanent version exist,it ask them if they can save up for a little while for a good investment in the long run

Etc

Those are just some examples that I had off the top of my head, there are many more situations where the helper could lead to less experienced players to smarter decision-making.
To avoid imposing the choice, the player can cancel or confirm their decision anyway(maybe make the confirm button only appear after a few second to make sure they read first)

Of course,it could be annoying to experienced players who know that they are doing the right thing so it can be disabled in the options but its on by default.

These will just be pop-ups, right? There are some people who actually know what they're doing even if they do try to do one of the above.

Yeah, just pop-ups. Its to help inexperienced players, and those are just examples.

Players who know what they are doing and find it annoying can disable it like I said in the last sentence.

Supported, although it's quite subjective as to what would be helpful and what wouldn't.

Of course there would have to be a thing in options where you can turn these pop-ups off.
