If anything, your class' original weapon should have more stats since it is the weapon you specialize in.

Swords have more stats because they bar you from using certain skills. Atom smasher is an extremely useful skill, but requires a maul to use, whereas a sword gives more stats but prevents you from using skills like that. Same with assimilation and such.

Actually I'm pretty sure that TLM has only one skill that requires a maul to use, If you think about it TLM works extremely well with a sword unless you are hell-bent on draining the opponent's mana. Feels a little OP IMO as each class has at least 2 skills that require their Original weapon in order to use the skill.

I totally disagree with this, because if the weapons apart from swords get more stats, then no one will use swords, that is equivalent to removing swords.

That is why I was thinking that instead of sword having extra stats, how about we just make some skills like MOB, Frenzy, Static Charge, etc, require a sword.

Keep the swords how they are, no one has ever had a problem with them and there is no reason now make the different.

I feel like the bigger problem is how some classes can do very well with swords wheras the others cannot. Ex. Mercenary with sword
