VanitySixx -> Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 3:10:50)

I feel the developers should stop doing major updates for the game, and begin seriously working on a new phase. With that being said, there should be no more mass updates, not many brand new weapons, no updates that focuses on fixing dozens of bugs. Just do tiny updates here and there, and release statements of a new phase.

I believe most EpicDuel players would not mind a lack of large updates for a few months as the devs prepare the new phase. This new phase would take into account what people loved about each phase of EpicDuel, and combining them to make the best phase the game has ever had.

Some notable things that may be implemented are:

Bringing back flags
Bring back the earning of influence based on PVP wins
Keep cores
Keep the weapon upgrading system
Make new weapons in the future only accessible to certain levels
And more...

I'm simply suggesting that the developers take a week or so and study the forums and actually get in contact with the players and we save this game together. If it takes months to develop a fresh EpicDuel that we'd all love, and it'll bring back the people we love, I'd gladly wait some months for the new phase. It'd also make new players stick to the game longer, instead of trying out the game and tossing it aside after half an hour.

Not that I post on this forum too often but it seems like this is the same thing that has always been. So many people with so many ideas on how to make the game well... the game.

So many different people with so many different ideas on how to fix the game. Feels like the sheep are all splitting in different directions while the shepard sits in hopelessness. Doesn't feel like there's any clear direction isn't there?

I'll chip in my thoughts, bear in mind I just woke up..

You want them to stop working on major updates because you want a new phase yes? What about the others who enjoy seeing the updates and fixes? Besides, updates that focus on fixing dozens of bugs may just be needed hm? I wouldn't want to stop that if I was in their shoes.

Regarding some of the changes you said about being implemented:

Keep cores: You want them to implement something that exists already in the game? I can't make sense of this, if it already exists why would they need to put it in, again?

Same goes for the weapon system.

As for making weapons for certain levels, if a level 10 player wants a certain weapon because they like the looks or what-not, why shouldn't he able to buy it and enjoy it? Weapons are more or less just for aesthetics now so I can't see a valid point behind it.

@PD That's why I said I'd like to have the developers use a week or so and actively interact with players using the forums. Just so everyone could get a full understanding on what's actually possible, and clarity.

@Digi This post isn't my own thoughts entirely. Its a combination of my friends' thoughts, people I casually talk to in battle, and it's all over the forums. The current active players of EpicDuel want change. This is even all over social media. The only way to move on is to do exactly what the Devs did for all of the other phases. Take some time off of doing major updates, and work on something greater.

And if the game does shift phases, the coding will be all out of wack if they don't re-implement items such as cores and weapons. Which is why they would have to be implemented again.

We waited months without huge updates for Gamma, Delta, and Omega. We could wait again to shift from the phase that is so obviously hurting the game. A fresh new face for EpicDuel is exactly what's needed.

VanitySixx -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 6:38:43)

@Digi The weapons thing wasn't my idea. That's just something I've seen fly around on Facebook a few months ago, but it seems like EpicDuel already took a step in that direction by creating Legendary Shops.

If level 15, 25, and 30+ shops are created, it could give those new players additional reasons to stick around and see what's in store. I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of constantly unlocking stuff as I progress with games.

Digital X -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 6:43:02)

Ok, re reading it now. I do enjoy unlocking stuff as I go I admit (*rarely buy a game unless I can unlock/upgrade)

What times before did they take off btw?

VanitySixx -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 6:45:34)

@Digi I'm sorry, I don't think I understand your question :/ Rephrase maybe?

Digital X -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 7:00:01)

You said the staff took time off for major releases to work on smaller scale ones. I was wondering when and what happened.

VanitySixx -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 7:18:06)

Well as I said in the original post, they should take time off of major updates (so small updates to fix minor things would still be going on). I know everyone remembers the 2-3 months off of major work for the Omega release. It even got delayed so everyone had to wait longer.

I remember the Delta release took quite some time as well. They did minor updates to fix minor things or add reoccurring rare weapons back to the game, but nothing major or new was created or done until the release of delta, which took weeks. I have screenshots of the DN's with Charfade and Nightwraith apologizing for the lack of updates but reassuring players that something great was in the works.

As for Gamma, I couldn't find any screenshots of the DN's posting about Gamma because I guess the devs didn't use the DN's much until after the Gamma update. I do remember waiting about a month or so without any big improvements or updates while Gamma was being created. And then after that, players had to wait even more weeks because the Devs likely rushed the release due to player demand and had to fix a ton of bugs.

I joined the game in Beta so I can't say anything about the release of Beta. But if you'd like to see the screenshots, I can show you via Facebook or you can scroll through the DN Archive for a fresh reminder. We've waited before Digi, and we can do it again.

Xamurai -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 9:19:43)

Eh, you want to fix this game? Don;t even try, if a new phase comes now, considering how they have been getting progressively worse. "Evolution" Phase will have us hitting each other with no weapons for one hit KO's at a 100% crit rate chance, and get 2 credits and 5000 varium per win. Please, this game is lost, leave it already, no one cares anymore.

Exploding Penguin -> RE: Stop Updating The Game (5/11/2015 16:46:55)

They need to fix the fact that factions have minimal relevance now. Back when there were flags it was really fun to try and compete over different flag points, but right now factions could just not exist at all and it wouldn't make that big of a difference.
