Right, it's because if a player is in contact with their opponent but doesn't tell Kiyone or post here, Kiyone has no way of knowing.
Ultimate Dragonlord also said he'd been in steady contact with his opponent before being dropped, I propose that players who can provide evidence of having been in touch with their opponent before time expired be allowed back in, it's still early on so it shouldn't affect the bracket, at least it wouldn't in the cases of UngodlyAssassin or Ultimate Dragonlord.
Of course Kiyone has final say and will be the one to determine whether it's too much of a slippery slope, it's just unfortunate that because we have so many more people some weren't accustomed to needing to be in touch on the thread or with the organizer directly.
