What did you think of the time limit for the duels?

Is there anything you would change about this tournament setup?

Is there anything you'd like for us to keep doing?

Do you want us to continue promoting tournaments throught the Design Posts or keep it forum only?

Do you want us to continue using prize support from the AE team?

Do you want a mandatory sign day before the tournament starts?

Feel free to address anything else about the tournament as well. Thank you!

Before making a post, please keep this in mind.

Constructive Criticism

  • What is it?
    Constructive criticism is being able to process and offer your own thoughts and opinions in order to give courteous and friendly feedback. This is done by explaining what you like and dislike, while at the same time providing feedback that is useful. This is what separates constructive feedback from ranting/complaining and flaming.

  • Does it help? How?
    Yes! Constructive criticism helps because not only are you giving feedback about what you don't like about a quest/event, but you're also giving feedback about what you DID like in the quest. Feedback could include on such topics as statistics, more dialogue, more explanatory cutscenes, more fights - everything that quests or events would normally include. This gives the staff a better idea on future improvements.

  • Example of Constructive Criticism:
    "I didn't particularly like this war because it felt too empty. To have made it better, I think the staff could have had a 50% cutscene to unlock rather than just a shop to progress the storyline. As it was, I personally was a little disappointed that this war felt more rushed than previous wars, however I do understand that the staff had a lot on their plate when making this release. That said, I greatly enjoyed the boss fight, the animations and art fit perfectly with the song that was playing in the background. So while not one of the best wars DF have done, I still enjoyed it. Thank you, DF staff!"

  • Example of Unconstructive Criticism:
    "I didn't like this war at all. What were the staff thinking? The items in the shop were ugly, overpriced and were bugged!! No cutscene? That was never done before and it is not how it should be done ever. Seriously, doesn't the staff ever listen to us?! The boss fight was too hard and took forever to beat :( And there was no sound. I dont think the staff even care anymore. Best war ever /sarcasm I hate this game D:<!"

  • Upcoming Tournaments and future plans for the OverSoul GD!

    With 2016 coming up and the tournaments looking to be the main focus for Oversoul. Where going to try our best to give you tournament themes you want to fight with. We know Chaos is one ya guys want to do and I may have a idea or three given the limited character pool. Their always the team tournament idea which I can see us doing in one or two ways. Lastly their also theme tournament where we still have a lot of themes we can try. Just depends on what you guys want us to do. With the tournament advertising in the design notes, story elements, and prize supports. While we got a lot of oks and help from AE team for this one. I don't know if this will always be the case. If we do get them in the future it won't be as big like this one. Once we finish the boss fight and get the design Notes stating the aftermatch of the Void Wars up. The forum staff and the AE team will have a better idea on this.

    So leave your feedback on this tournament and thoughts on what ya future tournaments you want to do.

    DarkBlazer49 -> RE: =OS= Tenth PvP Tournament Feedback Thread (12/14/2015 23:49:10)

    What an honor to be with the greats. It is official... almost. How fitting for me to face Clinton who won the fire tournament and for TFP to face Jop once again in the top 8 I believe.

    What did you like the most about this tournament?
    -> I liked that I won [:D] Besides that I liked the amount of sportsmanship after the fact to truly make it feel special and the support throughout to make each player try their best.

    What did you not like as much about this tournament?
    -> I did not like the amount of waiting in between each round. I caused a delay at one point but otherwise I would generally communicate.

    What did you think of the single-elimination style bracket I used? Good? Bad? Confusing?
    ->Single-elimination, not that great. Big tournament higher stakes pretty cool. Not confusing unless we keep switching tournaments.

    What did you think of the time limit for the duels?
    ->Time limits are fine. I do not know if the sudden death was necessary but your call.

    Is there anything you would change about this tournament setup?
    ->I think basing off time zone was a great idea.

    Is there anything you'd like for us to keep doing?
    ->Keep doing tournaments!!!!

    Do you want us to continue promoting tournaments through the Design Posts or keep it forum only?
    ->Design notes only if it means prizes. Otherwise more people that will not really play.

    Do you want us to continue using prize support from the AE team?
    ->Yes... what are the odds I would win another especially chaos...

    Do you want a mandatory sign day before the tournament starts?
    -> I guess?

    @Below. I do not think top 8 would be that great. I am not really convinced getting to top 8 is that much work for everyone. Although some brackets were difficult, others were easy because of everyone signing up. Perhaps top 4. I think we should do themes and chaos if we can get cc first because they are more interesting. Single elements tend to turn into about 4 or less monster tourneys and in this tourney in my 5-6 rounds I fought five monsters and more from practice as well.

    Archfiend -> RE: =OS= Tenth PvP Tournament Feedback Thread (12/15/2015 0:55:37)

    What did you like the most about this tournament?
    The diversity of elements and characters.

    What did you not like as much about this tournament?
    Nothing really. Mostly positive.

    What did you think of the single-elimination style bracket I used? Good? Bad? Confusing?
    Good, but possibly shrink the size so that I don't need to scroll up and down too much.

    What did you think of the time limit for the duels?
    Good, 48 hours is plenty of time.

    Is there anything you would change about this tournament setup?
    Nope, its fine.

    Is there anything you'd like for us to keep doing?
    Possibly a redo of all the elements like Ice Tournament 2. (This also forces me to level up my lvl1 characters).

    Do you want us to continue promoting tournaments throught the Design Posts or keep it forum only?
    Design posts, so more players join. Hopefully brings more of the oversoul community back.

    Do you want us to continue using prize support from the AE team?
    Yes, possibly reward all top 8 players in a huge tournament. The other players deserve something for going very far.

    Do you want a mandatory sign day before the tournament starts?
    Yep, very important.

    Anyways, possibly a redo of neutral tournament since cc iron hide and arcane ranger was banned. Hope to see everyone in another fun tournament :D

    The Jop -> RE: =OS= Tenth PvP Tournament Feedback Thread (12/15/2015 1:19:56)

    What I didn't like is how many people dropped from the tournament. Maybe if there's a tournament in the future there could be a penalty like they can't participate in future tournaments, or at least the next tournament. About 50% of the people who signed up ended up leaving or not even participating.

    DarkBlazer49 -> RE: =OS= Tenth PvP Tournament Feedback Thread (12/15/2015 1:24:43)

    That would be unfair and limit the amount of people even more. If we did not advertise on AQW then perhaps we would have less players dropping but less players too. If we want more players, we have to make it more accessible for them to play and do things which requires coders. I understand the tourney was a last shot to revive or celebrate the game, but we can keep it alive if we as many believe ensure AQ3D gets off to a great start reviving AE overall. Speaking of which, WE MADE THE KICKSTARTER!!! Now we can fund for the game knowing for sure we will be able to play in June. Great job!

    Edit: I just meant advertising means more players which may mean new players for keeps or just for the tournament - slight risk for a minor hassle/advantage for players within their bracket of the tournament for a potential gain. So again inconvenient but more gained than lost besides disadvantage for people with harder brackets.

    The Jop -> RE: =OS= Tenth PvP Tournament Feedback Thread (12/15/2015 1:31:40)

    Getting more players but having half of them drop isn't any kind of accomplishment to me. I think the goal is to have as many people as possible participate, and that requires something keeping people from just not responding after signing up.
