My suggestion is 1 extra skill point, NOT STAT POINT, for every 1 rank past rank 100 up to rank 120. These skill points can be use to further enhance player customization, encourage players to play more, and allow them to be more flexible with their builds.

Said skill points will be optional to use, which means that you do not have to use ALL of them.

There are a ton of builds for every class where players can use more skill points. This should not have too much of an effect on balance. I do not support stat points since players would find that unfair however skill points should be fine. Especially since these are, once again, Optional.

As for your balance concerns: Would it really affect balance that much? I am asking just for some insight unless there is something I missed. These skill points are optional, an individual probably wont even use all 15 and, if she should, s/he is encouraged to invest more points into the energy pool hence taking away stats from the 4 skill point improving categories and simultaneously weakening their skill tree.

It actually balances out itself.

Yes, in short I am requesting 20 more skill points that are optional so everyone who complains about having to waste skill points elsewhere doesn't really have to use them.

I honestly don't see the need. You say that more skill points could enhance player customization but at high levels it's mostly just "invest skill points properly in the build-defining skills then dump the rest of them in the 0-cost energy stealers" type of thing. It would really only make it harder for those who aren't level 40 to win against level 40s.

If the staff actually expands skill trees out though to have more than 12 skills I would support this.

No it really doesn't make anyone harder since, as I have stated in the OP, if you wish to use more skill points you will need more energy. More energy means less stats on the 4 major groups, which means lower defenses on your character and a lower chance at luck factors. It balances itself out.

Also, please dont take offence to this at all, but that thinking of "use the skill points I need for my build and dump the rest" is the basic thought of individuals in this game and I really wish you guys could see the benefit of this but you guys have been so conditioned in that thought process that it would be too much to comprehend

@Berserker
Pengiun has a good point though.
As a Dex TM, I wouldn't be investing skill points in Super Charge, Plasma Bolt, or Overload.
Instead, I'd use the skill points to max out Assimilation and Battery Back up, along with skills that benefit from high dex use.
If it were Tech TM, I wouldn't invest in Overload or Plasma Rain.
The same applies to other classes.

This really only started happening with Cores replacing actual skills.
Now you pick the energy drainers, the best skill suited for whatever stat you're spamming and fill in the rest with Cores.
Or atleast that seems to be the approach being taken nowadays.
Back then, you actually had to invest in other "secondary" skills like technician, malf, defense matrix.
Now you dont, because there are cores that are better alternatives.

From the looks of it, it seems that spamming a defensive stat would be more ideal than strength and to some extent support.
After taking a look around ingame, it seems Dex is the better choice.
secondary improves with dex, certain skills improve with dex, you get defense, block chance.

Tech would appear to be up there with dex if Focus builds were still viable, but it seems that they're gone.

I don't see how though when clearly this suggestion mainly applies to high ranks who will rarely, if ever, fight anyone who isn't a lvl 40 because of the games current meta which highly restricts that happening
