So Shadowskull Tower has always been a problem for me. Prior to the rare chests release, players would just bum rush the dungeon as fast as possible. Not waiting for other players, no thoughts for them, screwing them (us,me w/e) out of exp and especially gold. Now, with the possible rare chests, thats all they want. They dont even pretend to kill stuff, they just run through the room as fast as they can, avoiding combat completely, getting to the chest, opening it, and then as fast as they can, getting outta there. Today a guy did all that and then killed the necromancer before the rest of the group could even get there. That completely screwed us out of our loot, any exp, extra gold, ect. A complete waste of a key, not to mention our time. There has to be a way to make players WAIT for the rest of us to join them in the new/next room before they rush through it. A way for us to get the exp and loot these uncaring people leave behind? I wish I had a proper idea for this. I know being able to make a group with friends/guildies will definitely help, but P.U.G.'s will always be a problem (I think) until this is addressed in some way. Perhaps the new combat system will also fix some of this?

I understand where you're coming from.
Sadly there isn't much that AE can do, they make all the rooms with a mission/message like 'Kill all enemies before the portal opens.'.
But other then that I don't really see any other fix...

Hopefully they can fix this with parties, and allow distribution of drops and exp/gold to the whole party in dungeons.

The next update will enable you to kick party member (not sure if it'll kick them out of the dungeon as well)

Aside from that, you'll also get the public & private dungeons, so maybe that'll help (either by telling all the chest-hunters to go do private one, or set your own private one and invite friends)

Until the update came though, best to just bear with it

The next update will be introducing parties and private dungeon instances. If you join a dungeon through the public instance option you'll be put into a dungeon with random people just as you are now and you'll all be in a party without an assigned leader, and without a leader you cannot kick players so the main point of the party in public dungeons is just to have on screen information of your party member's health and mana pools. When entering a dungeon entrance portal you'll also have the option to enter a private instance instead of a public one. If you enter a private instance without a party you'll be put into a dungeon alone, and if you do this with a party your party members can enter the dungeon portal themselves and select the private instance option to be put in the dungeon with you, and you'll still be the assigned leader so you're free to kick a party member if they're being disruptive. Keep in mind however that the dungeon's player limit is still in effect in a private instance, so if you have a party of 5 players and you want to do a Skull Tower dungeon together you'll only be able to bring in 3 players (including yourself).

This SHOULD alleviate the issues we're seeing now where higher level players are joining public instances for quests/loot and skipping large portions of the dungeon, but it'll be a little extra work as for the best experience you'll probably want to recruit and vet your party from the room before the dungeon.

Making looting easier to deal with would make it easier on new players trying to keep up the speed with people that dont even stop to loot.

Or you know.. they could add a need for a healer in dungeons so people dont go flying through killing everything solo.

Thanks for the info Undead Lunatics! That should answer a lot of questions about what we can expect when 1.4 is released. :)
