Have a favourite class? Perhaps you like a specific combination of enhancements for a particular class? What do you think of the global cool-down on skills? Is there a certain combination of skills you like to use with each class? All class discussion here!

What may seem overpowered to some players may seem perfectly reasonable to others. We realize that different classes can be prioritized in such a manner as to be beneficial to both instances. While some armors work better for PvE, other armors work better for PvP. That does not mean that a class is imbalanced, but it means that it can be more beneficial to use it in another instance. The AQW staff will not release unbalanced strong classes in the game. Should there be such a case, it will be tweaked or mentioned upon release.

  • No Comparison Discussion. Any arguments relating to Legends vs Free Players vs ACs will not be tolerated. It has been clarified under the rules that such posts are not permitted.

  • No Suggestions. You may provide a skill tweak on a particular class, granted that you do not start suggesting the entire class revamp or skill set. Suggestions for existing classes may be posted here. You can suggest a whole new class here.

  • No PvP Discussion. Any PvP discussion related to classes needs to be posted in the =AQW= PvP Discussion Thread. Small comparisons and references may be made, but the PvP thread exists to house all discussions related to the subject.

    Honestly? All you do is spam all of the skills for pretty mediocre DPS. At level 65 without Awe enhancements, BM ran into mana issues if you got a string of noncrits. I'm not sure if that's still true at level 85, especially since Awe enhancements at that level are now available to non-members, but if it is you can always skim out on the heal and wait an extra second before looping Treat. Your AA is the biggest source of DPS you have, followed by GO FOR THE EYES and finally Misdirection.

    Which class is better in terms of crit ,hit, haste, dps and dodge? LBMA or BMA?

    Are there any other classes that outputs high damage to multiple targets when using a skill. For example the Paladin class skill "Exorcise" & "Blinding Light" deal roughly ~2k damage (at lvl70). Thanks in advance :)

    Shaman's pretty good for that. The first two skills do lots of damage to multiple monsters which is why the class is one of the best for farming.

    I guess. Wizard works fine for me. It's recommended spellbreaker be used but I don't know about that. And I'm not the most knowledgeable person about classes.

    @Apeiron: Both BMA and LBMA have the same stats model, so their base stats are the same. The only differences, then, are in their skills and passives:

    Hit chance: BMA has +10% from Zanshin, while LBMA has +12% from Assassin's Discretion. However, both classes exceed 100% base hit chance with level 85 full Lucky, and besides which have guaranteed to hit and crit skills.
    Haste: BMA has +10% from Taihenjutsu, while LBMA does not get any bonuses from its kit.
    Crit chance: BMA has +12% from Kyushojutsu, while LBMA doesn't get any bonuses; LBMA does, however, get +30% crit damage, which honestly isn't that big of a deal considering Lucky classes do almost quadruple damage with crits.
    Evasion: BMA has a total of +40% from Death's Dance and Zanshin, while LBMA has a total of +37% from Reanimation and Assassin's Discretion.
    DPS: It's pretty variable based on how much health LBMA has, but at very low HP it takes the cake from spamming Diminished Steel with Reanimation active. It's not exactly sustainable though.

    @Apexii: Yep, use full Wizard for Shaman. Spellbreaker trades a lot of raw damage for ultimately marginal gains in hit/crit chance.

    Does anyone know the full evasion rate for a full thief level 85 Blademaster? I don't really get how the passives work.

    For farming, you more or less use everything off cooldown, stay away from Malevolence if you are running low on mana, you want to be able to lop Mirroring Arcane and use Sanguine Pulse as much as possible, they are the main damage sources.

    For single target combat, you generally stay away from Malevolence as it takes up a lot of mana and doesn't give any back, because it isn't a direct hit, unless you happen to have a Stonecrusher by your side, in that case, go nuts.

    My prefered starting rotation is 5x5 > 3 > 2 > 4, possibly mixing in a Crimson Ritual in there somewhere, it lasts 18 seconds, so it's quite hard to mess up and lose stacks, unless you go afk mid combat.

    In any case, how does this class compare to the top solo-ing classes? Just specifically in terms of damage (pls dont bring up supporting etc)

    @Above here's the link for the UEW guide.

    UEW is kinda random, tbh there's like some RNG to it, you either have your high amounts of damage or low amounts of damage due to not getting lucky getting the effects you want like Grounded for example.

    I can't accurately say how it compares, I think UEW has a slight edge in the beginning over lightcaster but lightcaster doesn't have any RNG to it and gets really strong in long drawn out fights.

    Shaman is already viable, but if you mean it will solve the mana issues while AoE farming, then no.
    There's a couple reasons why.
    1. Your auto attack doesn't go off all that often, unless the enemies you fight have very high hp.
    2. When farming smaller mobs where you normally 1-2 shot them anyways, so your auto attack barely goes off at all, in which case, a low chance of getting back 10 mana wont drastically increase your efficiency.

    I guess it can give shaman a little more leeway when trying to loop Embrace during a boss fight, or be a surprise element in a PvP match, but you still shouldn't count on Mana Vamp to get those 60 mana on time, it should just be treated as a bonus Ancestor's flame, more or less.

    Btw, if you are lvl 80 or above and are non mem, just use an Awe enhancement anyways, Wiz loses no stats compared to a lvl 83 enhancement and Luck loses 1 Strength compared to a level 83 enhancement. I haven't bothered comparing the others yet.

    If I already have Blazebinder and Shaman for farming, is there any need to go for Eternal Inversionist?

    Similarly, if I already have Legion Doomknight for soloing, is there any reason to go for Glacial Berzerker (I know its seasonal)?

    I don't think there's anything wrong with having multiple classes that do the same thing. If you get bored of one you can use the others. Eternal inversionist uses different enhancements than both blaze and shaman so that may be one reason to get it. But it's up to you. The choice is yours if you want to get glacial berserker. It is a pretty good class, and I wish I held on to it myself. Now I've got to wait a while.

    If you wish to have as few classes as possible to use your bagspace for other things then there's not much need to have multiple classes that do the same thing. The reasons for getting or not getting classes should be your own.

    EI does not have much purpose if you already have BB and Shaman, there's few farming places where it can outdo both classes and it's survivability isn't great for sustained farming, the only real place I can think of being the 5 mob screen in Dreadrock as a more common farming spot.

    On the topic of GB being worth or not, it's definitely worth getting, even with having LDK. It's DPS is pretty close to LDK and it's survivability is also up there, even though it relies heavily on decreasing the enemy's hit chance for peak performance, hence why it can't (or sruggles heavily) with soloing Blood Titan, while LDK just breezes through it.
    GB also has quite a bit more supporting capabilities in it's kit, by being able to reduce damage and hit chance by up to 80% each for the majority of the battle (with correct timing) as well as haste debuffs and an almost loopable 60% resistance debuff, it's way more interactive than LDK, which imo is a pretty big deal.
    It's combo reliant nature does come with a couple downsides though, missing a crucial attack can set back your overall performance, but when everything goes in your favor, GB outshines LDK in pretty much every way imaginable.
    GB also comes with insanely high crit rate by default as well as heavy crit rate and crit damage buffs, which more or less gives you 100% crit rate at maximum stacks. It's very satisfying to hit 3k+ auto attacks very consistently.

    And a little side note about this, on the testing servers (currently), GB has way more potential than LDK, which is currently our canon for post rewrite class balance.

    But as Aura Knight said, if you need those extra spaces for something else, there's no need to get either.

    Awe blast is only good against hard-hitting bosses. If you have ArchPaladin, Rightous Seal + Awe Blast = Negative Damage/Heal without even stacking Commandments.

    One more question, is Dragonslayer General on par with Legion Doomknight for soloing? I know nothing about it but at level 85 I'm not particularly excited to get Dragonslayer to rank 10, so unless it's extremely good at soloing I won't be interested in it.

    As per name, it's great against Dragons. Even better than LmDK when I timed it against the Avatar of Desolich in Dragonchallenge. But against non-dragons, switch to another class. Considering the next 2 months of release is dragon-orientated, consider getting it.

    Anyone know what are the mechanics behind AbA's autoattack with awe enhancements? Does it only activate on the selected target or does it activate also for the other targets?
    Example:I have spiral carve and am attacking three monsters but one main target. Does the other two proc?

    Other than that, I noticed that Stonecrusher's mana with echoing earth is giving less lately or is it just my imagination?

    The Awe Enhancements with Abyssal only happen on 1 monster but it seems to be able to happen across any of the 3 monsters you are auto attacking. Auto Attacking multiple monsters doesn't make the awe enhancements hit multiple enemies at once or become stackable. attacking multiple monsters doesn't make the skill somehow become AoE. The Awe Enhancements abilities do seem to occur more often with Abyssal than other classes although it could just be my luck.
    The stacking not being possible would've only been with spiral carve or awe blast as health vamp, mana vamp, and PWD are all instant effects. Even though you are attacking three monsters it only counts as a single auto attack and therefore only a single awe can proc on 1 monster per auto attack.

    @Foulman: Blademaster has the same stat model as Rogue, so before factoring in passives/skills it has 39.02% evasion at level 85 full Thief. Uke Negashi gives another 20% dodge, and the rank 4 passive gives +15%, so in total you would have 74.02% dodge, which in all honesty isn't that impressive compared to Rogue, Chrono Assassin, etc.

    @iDreadnaut: Damage reduction doesn't work like that. Awe Blast shouldn't affect the enemy's damage if Righteous Seal is active, since Seal gives a stronger weaken effect. I tested it against the Hulking Castle Spider in /bosschallenge, and with both Seal and Awe Blast active it hit me for 177 damage. I would consider Awe Blast to be the second-worst Awe enhancement, with PWD taking the cake as the worst one.

    @ChaoX: Seems to be just your imagination. With 2 other players in a room and Magnitude Mana active (so casting Echoing Earth/Land's Embrace costs 20 mana), I gained a net total of 10 mana per cast, which means I spent 20 and gained 30 (3 targets to buff).
