brotherinlaw -> If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/3/2018 14:02:21)

If we could have a cameo/appearence/storyline from ONE villain from any We game, who would it be? What is your reasoning?

I'm not asking for suggestions, just discussion. What is it about this particular villain that you would want him/her above all others to show up in this game.

Now, as for me, if anyone played attention to my account, they'd think I'd be all over the Sepulchure bandwagon. And while I do think it would be Awesome for him to show up, I feel he wouldn't be conducive to the game right now. While he might be a great 4th-5th arc main villain, AQ3D needs to develop it's own character before it can start bringing in such major elements from other games.

No, if I could pick anyone, it would be Xan. He's such a complex character, with just the right combination of menacing, deranged, and funny that I feel he's just the right kind of crazy to spice things up. Plus, with his simplistic role of, "Kill Warlic", Xan's character is much easier to bend to the shape of Aq3D's story.

If I had to have a second choice, though, it would be the Mysterious Stranger. Not because of any aspect he, personally, would we to the game. I just want some incredibly expensive, overpowered weapons of mass destruction!

But what about you guys? Who strikes your fancy, Vayle, Kabroz, Vordred? Who do you think would make an awesome addition to the AQ3D family?

Iron Volvametal -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/3/2018 16:22:57)

Xan would be cool, but I'm kinda sick of fire & lava right now.

I know the Chaos Lords aren't possible, but I'd still like to see Ledgermayne come back as some kind of sentient mana being in the next Arcangrove Tree area. Maybe change the way he's introduced? If I read right, all the AE games take place in seperate timelines, so I'm sure they can do this. I always liked that he was the only Chaos Lord to overpower Drakath, if we hadn't helped, I'm certain that Ledgermayne would've probably succeeded in destroying Lore(but then again, we've interfered in a lot of Lore-destructive plans before).

Visiting a Mirror Realm to fight Artix, Robina, & Galanoth would be pretty sweet, too. It'd be cool to see Battleon mirrored in 3D & see the changes in environment.

Darches -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/3/2018 17:59:30)

Carnax. I'm ready, I think.

brotherinlaw -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/3/2018 22:36:21)

@iron volvometal: yeah, in fact all the chaos Lords could probably be met a unchaorrupted. Ledgermayne could definitely be a good follow-up to whatever this first arc is introducing about meddling in the Elemental Planes.

@Darches: No-one is ready for Carnax. i, personally, can not wait to see him in 3d. With a city on his back, that would easily make him the size of a small mountain. I know it would be hard to pull off, but I would love it if they could design him so we could really feel him stand over us and the perspective of it all.

Flabagast -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/6/2018 2:50:51)

Carnax or the Mysterious Stranger would be grand. I personally wouldn't mind seeing Drakath make an appearance. Keep in mind I'm only referring to either the exiled prince seeking to claim his birthright Drakath of Dragonfable, or the undying ridiculously powerful Darkness Dragon Drakath of Adventurequest, since I know AQW's Drakath is off the table.

Honestly I would prefer to see how AQ3D might incorporate either a stuck-up would-be nobleman or a tenacious Dracolich into it's storyline anyway.

Grawlix -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (4/28/2018 7:25:41)

Vordred would be awesome and could be easily integrated into the current Doomwood storyline but for now I think there are too many skulls and dragons in the game. So for that reason I would like to see someone like Kathool with a cool underwater or ship level (Since Pirate class is releasing I think this could be relevant along with the swimming animation we've been missing since Camp Gonnagetcha)

brotherinlaw -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/3/2018 2:01:14)

^ do all games need a mandatory Underwater level? :)
We should probably introduce pirates WAY before an underwater map. Not that I'm biased, we just need an excuse to dump Underwater Breathing Potions again. Remember, kids, environmental pollution of our planets limited water source is fun!

Also, I'd be interested in seeing them shoe in-Vordred. He's literally just an Undead creation, so it shouldn't be to hard to fit him in. Besides, I bet Dage would love to work him into his new 3d art style!

Edit: also, what's this nonsense about too many skull!? There's no such thing, I tells ya! In the words on the (not) immortal Vordred:MOAR SKULLS!!!!!!

TFS -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/4/2018 0:05:50)

It'll never happen, but I'd love to see Caitiff in another game.

Grawlix -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/6/2018 12:08:55)

@Brotherinlaw We can have the Hero only use one potion or have an npc like Warlic cast a spell on them..

brotherinlaw -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/8/2018 8:29:15)

@Tfs- who knows, apparently walking various Planes of existence will be a regular theme. Maybe we'll enter Shadowscythe-controlled territory in the Elemental Planes of Darkness and catch a glimpse of their weakest warrior.

@Grawlix- But what about the pollutioooooon!!!!!?

Edit: A few ideas that I hadn't considered:

Balius/Nightbane- While it might seem ambitious to introduce the first Dracopyre when we have yet to meet Wolfing, the first Werepyre, Nightbane was a prominant member of the AQ rogues gallery and a beloved character to the community. It would be interesting if Wolfwing and his son were introduced together when Nightbane was still his faithful lieutenant, and watch his development into the first Dracopyre and Darkovia's most wanted.

Jaldi Guth'hai/The Dragon King- like the classic AQ, AQ3D seems to be becoming defined by it's Dragon Wars. As such, the Dragon King would be a fun returning character to try to destroy Battleon. He is a powerfully, imposing presence, could introduce us to the Vartai (sadly, there would be no Galanoth/Cyrus banter....), and would look freakin AWESOME in 3d.

The'Galin/The Devourer- I know, reviving such a prominant, game defining enemy is quite suspect, but hear me out. The Devourer Saga was one of the most prominant, popular, and lengthy storylines in AE history. It introduced us to many important and beloved characters while teaching us the vast majority of what we know about the world of Lore and the surrounding universe. Such an iconic story would not just be hard to tell as well as it was the first time, but would dominate a unique game with a story that has already BEEN told. However, there would be one major difference that allowed the story to take it's own shape and direction: AQ3D, like AQW and DF, is a world where the Elemental Avatars and Lords cannot manifest in the realm of Lore. Why is that significant? The'Galin and even Omega (his Avatar) could not manifest to Uncreate worlds, leaving him to resort to tricking the inhabitants to do it themselves. Summoning Truth/Lorithia would also be impossible, especially since there would be no The'Galin on Lore to reason with. Heck, without him or an Omega there to recruit, the Network may never have been founded.

Lord Valoth- How? Because people from the Mechquest universe keep being reincarnated post-Reset. Why? Because he is awesome, and I miss him (I also miss Mechquest in general, but that's beside the point.

edit of an edit: SHOOT! I double posted the same post!? How does that happen? How can I delete a post! Dang it, I'm sorry for breaking the rules, please don't hurt me Archknights.....

^ Dracowerepyre's were a pretty weird concept in the first place, they kinda just ended up looking like blunt-nosed Werepyres with added spikes and bonier wings. Speaking of Werewolves, since there are new skills snd hotbars being teased on twitter, I hope when we meet the Vampire and Lycan leaders in AQ3D someday we can maybe get a skill from them like a Lycan transformation skill/passive effect and a Bat monster transformation skill for Vampires.

About Vartai, aren't they basically Dravir or are they a totally different thing?
Anyways I'd also like to meet Vath (so we can see more Drow ppls), Wargoth, (preferably later on in the story) and the Grand Inquisitor so we can see more of Nulgath and his minions

@Iron Volvametal the Mirror Realm are pretty much the Elemental Planes in this game

brotherinlaw -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/22/2018 7:31:53)

Hmm, okay, guess it's not getting fixed...

Anywho, @Grawlix: the Dracopyre (no, that is not a typo) is a race from AQ, and was a long-standing element of the game with it's own saga. While a Dracowerepyre is a dragon infected with both vampirism and lycanthropy, the first Dracopyre was Wolfwing's son, Nightbane, who was granted more power than any other werepyre by his father for almost driving the vampire and werewolf races to extinction, then killed 1000 dragons and drank their blood. Future Dracopyres would use his blood to become one or be sired by another dracopyre.

You really should play AQ from time to time. The gameplay has become quite dated, but their story-telling capability is par-none, giving you loads of Lorian lore.

Speaking of, you asked about Vartai. Unlike Drakels, Dravir, and all the other humanoid draconian races, the Vartai are a race of half-dragons that have formed their own civilization. They are noted for taking part in Dragon Wars, both for and against the humans, and being led by Cyrus, Galanoth's best freinemy and the original trainer for the Dracomancer class

Back on topic: Vath is actually a great idea because he could both introduce the elf species, being of the drow or Dark Elf subspecies, or introduce the Dragonlord Order. Actually, Frostscythe could work too, being both elven and a Dragonmaster.
Wargoth I feel would be inapplicable because, to do that, you have to remove Warlic.
And Nulgath's introduction is guaranteed (also, if you look up the design notes where they just post art Dage is working on, the 3D rendering of Nulgath's head is amazing!). What isn't guaranteed, and what I'm hoping for, is that the Nation become a standing faction like the Legion.

Grawlix -> RE: If We Could Meet Any villian? (5/23/2018 3:24:21)

^ I've played it but only for two days lol since I felt very outdated compared to AQW and DF. Thanks for the info though.

I think for players who are currently on the Wargoth-related quests someone could replace him in the shop like Nythera, Jimmy, or Cysero. Yeah I just saw the DN post I agree it was pretty good I can't wait to see how they'll incorporate him into the current story.
