It can be used for GIMP too. I use GIMP and I save like this when I need to pause work :P

Meaning: A art program just like GIMP and PSP. Currentley the best art program there is right now And pretty expensive, It is a very popular art program which has many options in it that can create so many effects for sig making and works really well with abstract c4d's.

Word: LP
Meaning: Large Piece, an artwork that exceeds the typical size limits of signatures(max is usually something like 500x200) and avatars (max~100x100).

Word: Smudge
Meaning: Any form of artwork (sig, LP etc) that involves the use of the smudge tool in generating the background and effects on the render.

Word: Smudge Tool
Meaning: Tool found in Photoshop that smudges regions together and is used to smooth out sharp edges and in smudge artwork.

Word: Sharpen
Meaning: Opposite of blur (almost counteracting the effect of blur) that makes an image more crisp and less faded out. In Photoshop, sharpen can be found in Filters and is also a tool.

Word: Lens Flare
Meaning: Found in photoshop under (Filter > render). LF creates the effect of looking into a bright source of light (e.g. the sun). When not blatantly used, it can be useful.

Meaning: A very basic image. Shows few to great detail. Often used in games, or sprite tags.

Meaning: A save file for PSP allowing you to show all the layers unmerged in PSP.

meh, add it if you want. doubt if anyone still uses PSP tho.

If you want to know how to make signatures, follow one or more of the many guides around the forums, and use the Ultimate Resource Guide to find a program. If you're posting that because you want to know what a word relative to graphics means, PM me.

Word: Imageshack
Def: File Uploading Site used to upload pictures and such.

Letter: S
Word: Sepiatone
Def: Usually a decolor of an image, or making all other colors one shade of a color, giving it a certain vibe/feeling to it

Letter: P
Word: Photobucket
Def: File Uploading Site used to upload pictures and videos. Does not always have correct file size.

Render:
A c4d, and effect render used in tags or as the focus in a lp

Stock:
A person or thing that is generally the main focus of a tag. People blend these into the background

Stock Photo:
A place or thing that is generally the background of a piece of artwork. You can find one on the internet, or take a photo yourself to use.


Wyn:

Focal/Focal Point:
The part of an image that your eyes first notice, or is the most prominent part of the artwork. Minimalistic styles are mainly the style that uses it. Choatic styles are what copletley and utterly ignore this :)

I disagree with that definition. Negative space can be any colour where effects aren't really happening. It's the boring areas (not the boring areas without effects in them, like smudging, or c4d, or filters). Negative space is just area where you don't want people looking, so it can be any colour really.

thought negative space was there to draw out the focal point... like in books with character shadow/foils

since i've seen some with light effect lines to move eyes to where you wanted... or was that not negative space lol
