[300] 300. Conditions on using guests Guests' Attack power, Usage of element(s) will vary, some quests force you to add guest and some will take them away after all... Guests' using is very complicated ! To avoid on using wrong guest which results in failed battles or time being wasted...etc, details listed below need to be aware of. [301] 301. General : [301A] 301A. Stats & Bonuses effects : - All guests' STR/INT/DEX are set '0', they do not boost any guests' damage.
- Guests' Crit will effect their average damage as calculated below.
- Artix, Vayle, Galanoth, Sir Ano, G'joob, Grrol and King Linus have Bonus 100, which give them the best accuracy on any level monster;
Warlic and Zhoom have 10 on Bonus, with their high level (lvl 15), they also make less missing in their quests; The rest of guests either has 0 or 1 on Bonus, when they fight with more higher level monsters, they will make much more missings. *Note*: Unknown effects, variable values x% and/or y%, Icemaster Yeti - Monsters' defenses vary, how to calculate their effect on attack is unknown -- never discovered by AE.
So in Analysis below, we ignore these bonuses (Parry/Dodge/Block, Melee/Magic/Range) - When guest's attack on certain element, if the monster has resistance to that element, damage points will be reduced.
In formula, x% or y% show resistance value. - The % of chance that Artix uses '4-hits' attack is unknown, by tested and guess, we give a value 10%. This % may change if more test taken.
The % of chance that Vayle uses 'Summon' attack is unknown either, by tested and guess, we give a value 10% -- same Artix. - Icemaster Yeti -- only available in one seasonly quest, scaled damage point, not quite useful to be analysised...
[301B] 301B. Average Damage Calculation: Ash: Type: Melee | Element: Metal  | Crit: 2 Attack damage range = 5 - 10, without considering resistance Average = ( 5 + 10 ) / 2 = 7.5 Under Crit +2, Average Damage = 7.5 * 1.02 = 7.65 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 7.65 * (1 - x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) Robina: Type: Range | Element: Wood  | Crit: 5 Attack damage range = 5 - 12, Average = ( 5 + 12 ) / 2 = 8.5 Under Crit +5, Average Damage = 8.5 * 1.05 = 8.93 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 8.93 <*Note: only 1 monster has resistance on wood (100), will result '0' damage ( see section 303 ).> Valencia: Type: Melee / Range | Element: Metal  | Crit: 5 Attack damage range = 8 - 18, Range attack has random add up value (* 1.5), but it has 4 turns cool-down. In case use 'Throw' every 5 turns : Average = [(8 + 18) / 2 * 4 + (8 + 18) * 1.5 / 2 ] / 5 = 14.3 Under Crit +5, Average Damage = 14.3 * 1.05 = 15.02 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 15.02 * (1-x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) Artix: Type: Melee | Element: Metal  / Light  | Crit: 20 Artix's 'Holy' attack is the strongest attack in game, but it also meets problem sometimes -- as listed in section 303B, he could not use 'Holy' on 2 monsters: Assume 4 hits attack happens 10% chance (by guess), Attack damage range = 5 - 30, (5 + 30) / 2 = 17.5. Average = 17.5 * 0.9 + 17.5 * 4 * 0.1 = 22.75 Under Crit +20, Average Damage = 22.75 * 1.2 = 27.3 Overall Attack Result : ( Without 'Holy' ) Average Damage = 27.3 * (1-x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) 'Holy' has 14 turns cool-down, without facing 2 monsters listed in 303B, we should use 'Holy' as much as we could. 'Holy' attack range is 5 -30, but has random add up value (* 1.5), In case use 'Holy' every 15 turns : Average = {(17.5 * 0.9 + 17.5 * 4 * 0.1) * 14 * (1-x%) + 17.5 * 1.5 * 4 (1-y%)} / 15. Under Crit +20, Average Damage = 21.23 * 1.2 * (1*x%) + 7 * 1.2 * (1-y%) Overall Attack Result : ( With 'Holy' ) Average Damage = 25.48 * (1-x%) + 8.4 * (1-y%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal, y% is monster resistance to Light ) When x% = y% = 0, Average Damage = 33.88 Galanoth : Type: Melee | Element: Metal  | Crit: 20 When attack monsters without Metal resistance: Skill 'Spear' is a guaranteed Critical attack. 14 turns cool-down allows used once in 15 turns. Beside this skill, the rest of special skills seem only useful in just a few special cases (eg. Battle Dragon)... At the moment could not find any difference between them and normal Attack within most quests in game. Average = {(5 + 30) / 2} * (16 / 15) = 18.67 Under Crit +20, Average Damage = 18.67 * 1.2 = 22.4 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 22.4 (1 - x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) Aria : Type: Range | Element: Nature  | Crit: 2 Only used in 1 quest, 3 monsters in the quest have no resistance to Nature, Attack damage range = 8 - 12, ( 8 + 12 ) / 2 = 10; Under Crit +2, Average Damage = 10 * 1.02 = 10.2 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 10.2 Warlic : Type: Magic | Element: Energy  / Ice  | Crit: 5 Only used in 1 quest, 4 kinds monsters have 3 different resistance to Ice, but nothing on Energy: -50: Lava Glob & Inferno Elementals -20: Sunwarriors -100: Bassault We will use 'Ice' & 'Zap' as much as we could, so within 10 turns, we use 'Ice' twice, and 'Zap' once, others are 'Attack'. Attack damage range = 15 - 25, ( 15 + 25 ) / 2 = 20, 'Zap' = 20 * 1.5, Ice = 20 * 1.5 * (1-x%), total 4 battles. On x = -20, Average damage = (20 * 1.5 * 1.2 * 2 + 20 * 1.5 * 1 + 20 * 7) / 10 = 24.2 (2 battles) On x = -50, Average damage = (20 * 1.5 * 1.5 * 2 + 20 * 1.5 * 1 + 20 * 7) / 10 = 26 On x = -100, Average damage = (20 * 1.5 * 2 * 2 + 20 * 1.5 * 1 + 20 * 7) / 10 = 29 Average = (24.2 + 24.2 + 26 + 29) / 4 = 25.85 Under Crit +5, Average Damage = 25.85 * 1.05 = 27.14 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 27.14 ( Ice Resistance included ) Zhoom : Type: Range | Element: Fire  / Metal  / Energy  / Light  | Crit: 5 On quest Zhowdown: Only battles with Sphinxter which has 60 resistance to Light. After reduced by resistance, 'Double Arrow' still deals damage close to others: (15 + 25) / 2 * 1.5 * (1 - 60%) * 2 = 24, better than Attack = 20. Other attacks: Fire = (15 + 25) / 2 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 45; Bomb = (15 + 25) / 2 * 1.5 * 1.5 = 45; Zixcy = (15 + 25) / 2 * 1.75 = 35. Within 15 turns, we will use Fire 5, Bomb 4, Double Arrow/Zixcy 1 and Attack 4...to get highest damage. Average = ( 45 * 5 + 45 * 4 + 24 * 1 + 35 * 1 + 20 * 4) / 15 = 36.21 Under Crit +5, Average Damage = 36.21 * 1.05 = 38.02 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 38.02 ( Light Resistance included ) On quest Sek-Duat Lives Again: All monsters have high resistance on Light, 'Double Arrow' is useless. So all battles same: Within 15 turns, Zixcy once, Fire/Bomb used 5, Attack used 4. Average = (45 * 5 + 45 * 5 + 35 * 1 + 20 * 4) / 15 = 37.67 Under Crit +5, Average Damage = 37.67 * 1.05 = 39.55 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 39.55 ( No 'Double Arrow' - Light Attack ) Vayle : Type: Melee | Element: Darkness  | Crit: 15 Only in quest Noxus Fumes: Attack monsters without Darkness resistance. Skill 'Undead Summon' is a double attack. 2 turns cool-down allows used once in 3 turns. Beside the ensure of special skill used, she also has 10% (by guess) chance use 'Summon' when normal 'Attack' clicked. Average = {(5 + 30) / 2} * {(1 * 0.9 + 2 * 0.1) * 2 + 2 * 1 } / 3 = 24.5 Under Crit +15, Average Damage = 24.5 * 1.15 = 28.18 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 28.18 Sir Ano : Type: Melee | Element: Metal  | Crit: 15 First guest has *stronger* normal "Attack" than special skills...hehe...Guess AE may will change it later. (*Stronger* here means no cooldown needed for "Attack" and double type gives more critical chance...Without consider cooldown, "Swordplay" is better for sure.) 2 types of normal "Attack" -- Double/Single, guess *Double* type has 80% chance; Skill "Swordplay" is a guaranteed Critical attack, 14 turns cool-down. So calculate average damage in 15 turns. Average = {(5 + 27) / 2} * {(1.8 * 14 + 2) / 15} = 29.01 Under Crit +15, Average Damage = 29.01 * 1.15 = 33.37 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 33.37 (1 - x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) G'joob, Grrol and King Linus : Type: Melee | Element: Metal  | Crit: 20 When attack monsters without Metal resistance: Skill 'Final' is a guaranteed Critical attack. 5 turns cool-down; 'Double' available after a successful attack and has 2 turns cool-down. So strongest combo is "Final > Double > Attack > Attack> Double > Attack" then repeat... Average = {(5 + 30) / 2} * {(2 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1)/6} = 26.25 Under Crit +20, Average Damage = 26.25 * 1.2 = 31.5 Overall Attack Result : Average Damage = 31.5 (1 - x%) ( x% is monster resistance to Metal ) Icemaster Yeti : Type: Melee | Element: Ice  | Crit: 10 Scaled damage. Only available in one seasonly quest (no other guest allowed in the quest). No point to compare with other guests. Overall Attack Result : N/A [301C] 301C. Final Analysis : 5 Guests are limited in certain quests and 4 guests are rare...So there are only 5 guests without this limitation -- Ash, Robina, Valencia, Galanoth and Artix. Artix and Galanoth have higher damage points, so damage wise, Ash, Robina & Valencia are useless (I feel sorry to say that about them). Ash, Robina and Valencia accuracy on higher level monsters is impaired. Though when it comes to monsters in their level bracket their accuracy is normal. However, compare with high lvl (30+) monsters' / characters' damage (could be over 100 or more), guest's damage points are much weaker. If you want to save time on high lvl farming, I suggest no guest(s) would be better in such cases. But for lower lvl characters (15-), guests are really useful. And also when higher lvl characters face harder monsters, without guests will be very hard or even allow you to be defeated fairly easily! spoiler:
*Note*: you could invite 2 Artixes by using #3 or #4 invitation from Artix -- Invite Artix as guest B, then do 'The Well' quest or use Artix Statue... [20:41] <Alac> Artix is just so leet that he can bend space and time. He can move so fast he appears to be in two places at once. But even it is both acceptable and widely used, as a bug, I guess AE will fix it in future.
