[1.] Introduction This guide was created to answer the age old question of "What is the best non-member/member weapon?". The answer to the question is that there isn't any best non-member/member weapon. This is because all weapons share a DPS befitting to their enhancement level. [2.] Examples Don't believe me? Here's some examples. Notice how the weapons have different damage ranges. Format/Definitions [Weapon] - DMG: The weapon's damage range.
- W: The weapon's damage width. This is calculated from the difference of the weapon's damage range's upper boundary and lower boundary.
- M: The weapon's damage mean, average, or midpoint. This is calculated from the addition of all of the weapon's damage range's values divided by the damage width or the addition of the weapon's damage range's upper limit and lower limit divided by two.
- DPS: The weapon's damage per second. This is calculated from the division of the weapon's damage mean, average, or midpoint divided by two given that your class attacks every two seconds.
[2.1] Non-Member Enhancement Level 8 Example Warrior Claymore Blade - DMG:72-88
- W: 88.5-71.5=17
- M:(72+73+74+75+76+77+78+79+80+81+82+83+84+85+86+87+88)/17=(72+88)/2=80
- DPS: 80/2=40
VS. Big 100K - DMG: 70-90
- W: 90.5-69.5=21
- M: (70+90)/2=80
- DPS: 80/2=40
See? For a weapon (Non-Member or Member it just so happens these are two Non-Member weapons) enhanced to level 8 it will have a DPS of 40. [2.2] Member Enhancement Level 17 Example Unarmed - DMG: 88-88
- W: 88.5-89.5=1
- M: 88/1=88
- DPS: 88/2=44
VS. FrostReaver 09 - DMG: 34-142
- W: 142.5-33.5=109
- M: (34+142)/2=88
- DPS: 88/2=44
See it again? For a weapon (Non-Member or Member it just so happens these are two Member weapons) enhanced to level 17 it will have a DPS of 44. [3.] Why do all weapons have the same DPS befitting their enhancement level? As you now know all weapons have the same DPS befitting to their enhancement level, but you might ask, "Why?". This is because the AE staff has done a great job balancing the weapons which makes possible that everyone can have their favorite weapon even if it is a Broken Dagger or Rusted Sword and have it rival the power of weapons like the Godly Mace of the Ancients or the Godly Golden Dragon Mace because we all should know it's not the size nor the look of the weapon that counts it's how you wield it. [4.] What weapon should I use? Now, even though what I've said before is true, I hope you've noticed that some weapons have different damage widths which makes them better for different things and you might ask, "What weapon should I use?". Well, with a greater damage width you have a chance to deal very high damage despite having a chance to deal very low damage as well, but this is very useful in PvP where you'll need the chance to knock down your opponents' HP in a flash and slightly useful in PvE if you want the chance to knock down some low HP enemies in a flash. Then, with a lower damage width you have a chance to deal very constant medium damage and this is useful in PvE to deliver that constant medium damage against enemies with very high health where if you had a greater damage width and you dealt very low damage too many times you may lose the fight. [5.] Weapon Enhancement Information So where does that leave us? Well, this leaves us with what I want this guide to do which is to help people find the weapons with the damage widths they want with the highest non-member and member enhancements that are on the Live Servers (1-17). [5.1] Enhancement Level DPS Here's the DPS of each enhancement level, just so you know.
