 G'day! So the weekend is over and the initial shock of the new GUI should be starting to lose momentum. We've been reading your posts on the forum about it and because there were such mixed feelings about the info bar and the quest complete sound effect, we are giving you guys the opportunity to vote. We love you guys and take your opinions very seriously, and we want to ensure you are getting the most out of DF so please take the time to voice your opinion.

This poll will run until midnight on Friday.
The "Other" option is if you don't like either the new or old, and if this is the case please specify by posting your opinion.

 I definitely like the way things look.
The old sound effect for quest finishing was much better, IMO. The new sound effect reminds me of something from "The Price Is Right". And, it just doesn't work well, I don't think.

Also, the login screens are most excellent! <3

Liked the info bar and log-in screens, but the quest complete sound? Not so much. Too bland, IMO.

I love the log in screens myself. The new char screen is top notch, modernised and looking so FRESH.

The info bar is not uninteresting but missing something in my eyes - but the colors on it are fabulous, so I cannot say I dislike (the brownish color definitely attracts my eyes), I just think it needs some brush ups, that's all, because it's still looking somewhat clumsy - and I am sorry, for not getting the artist vision here :( I really am because I like your work, but to me it lstill looks like unfinished interface but the colors are lovely. Also white font on the light background for the char profile is a bit hard on the eyes.

I have no opinion about the end music, it's fine as it is, the old one was also fine, I like them both,

Most of all however, love you for this poll.

I'm really loving the new GUI, and the new log in backgrounds, However the new Fanfare when winning a battle I'm not very particular of, it sounds a little bit down tempo for a victory theme

@Ghost, you did a great job with the graphics, but with regards to the new complete quest sound, its more of a presentation sound of a nobleman (ie: *new quest complete sound* Here comes king Arthur!). I think you can make a much more victorious sound. It's just that it doesn't fit in the situation.

 I definitely like the old sound more, sorry. The new one just doesn't give you the great victory feeling like it should give.

About the info bar... I find it hard to decide. I am used to the old one. So used to it that it gets boring from time to time. But the new one seems so strange... I guess that I'll get used to it after the initial shock is really over. I'll vote for the fourth option.

By the way, you did a great job on all the other things - The various loading screens, their music, the new level up screen etc.. No need to change those.

Old info bar and old sound effect definitely! I could live with new bar but if it all was made the same colour and a bit polished rather than now with 2 rectangles around your info and Options/Fullscreen. Making it one colour would be better. :P

Love the graphics expecially the brown one at the bottom.
But I am not so keen on the music in the login screen. Not that it is bad, just that I play muted anyway and that music can only be muted AFTER the loginscreen loaded.
A permanent solution that "remembers" the settings would be great and then I would totally approve of the new GuI.

whyare people assuming this also has to do with the opening screen, this is only about the info bar and hte end quest music

the quest complete sound is just... not right... it sounds like you've just done something funny the new sound is just too silly and less epic than the old one. i would really like the old quest complete sound back (but everything else looks wonderful)

i like new bar on the bottom of the screen because it feals more rich in graphics (even though i'm more used to the old one, i can get used to it )

The old sound affect sounded like an achievement the new one sorta sounds like someone told a bad joke.

Funny thing is that I always mute the game and listen to music that I wanted to listen. ;D
So... yeah, I may not like some of the sound effects in the game, but I'd vote for the old one back, but I like the new Info Bar.

Keep the new bar but bring back the old sound! The new sound reminded me as a dyeing duck.

I love the new info bar (and all the graphical updates), but the quest complete music, not so much. I mean, I don't hate it and I wouldn't care either way if it stays or goes, but I just think the old one had a more celebratory vibe to it.

The info bar, I wouldn't mind it being changed to fully the whole color as it is. As in, get rid of the box-thing surrounding our character's name. As to the old sound for Quest Complete and the new one, I'm thinking the new one isn't a "Victory" sound, but the old one is just the "Good" element. That's why I'd rather have a completely NEW sound for the Quest Complete! Maybe a small 5 second song?

Just to add, I actually really like the multi-coloredness of the info bar, as it just makes it more interesting to look at. Oh, and I think that if you do change the quest complete music, a brand new tune with the upbeatedness of the old one would be great. The current quest complete tune could be turned into a "Quest Begin" tune, or maybe even a "Defeat" tune; as just because it doesn't suit its current position, doesn't mean it is useless.

 The old TADA sound was much better IMO than the new horn sound.
The new bar looks Ok during battles, but uneven while walking around. Also, the white on light background is a bit hard to read contrast.

...Can't we have the new quest complete sound as the sound of None element weapon hitting? That'd be hilarious (Also problematic since some monsters use the element)

I dunno. The sound is good, but... eh. It's just, yeah. /Helpful explanation.
