@Epic: So, what character are ya using? I'll help determine whether or not it's got a good chance against the Treasure Chest.

Personal Acheviement: I think I'm going to be known as the TC breaker. I've killed it a LOT more times than it has killed me. The ratio is litterally... wayyy past ten and uncountable, vs 5 times being killed by the treasure chest. No wonder it doesn't want to see me anymore.

@aliesterus: Yay! I avenged myself! I usually don't die often when fighting TCs, I was using Xmas, 19.

@Beck: I went to finish my homework/check forums when I had 18 hp and it had like 2.

Wait 'til they fix Petrify so it does 5 damage again. Then the Treasure Chests might make a come back.

Good luck! Show that box who's boss. It must have gotten lucky that last time, or you just chose a really bad time to zone out.

@Lord Beck: Actually, 7 of which was BEFORE Petrify was broken. There is no comeback for the treasure chest, it's got it pretty bad against me.

@Coconut: I actually find that the Black Dragon and other said higher level shadow characters have a better chance against the Treasure Chest, though Earth characters also have a fair chance against it. Ice characters are fine, but if you just miss that ONE card...
Lightning has the same issue.
The main reason earth and shadow characters have it better is probably because of their high damaging DoT's. Earth also has their version of Ice Wall so...

Fire also has a good chance with the glitched Incinerate and all... but that's probably gonna change eventually.
Water barely has a chance against it.
Light has the same issues as Lightning and Ice, though if you're at level 12 or above you don't have to worry as much.

This is personal discoveries, take my advice as you will.

@Sir Xander: Actually Crypt Rogue was the first thing I saw when I entered the Treasure Chest Room today. It was also a successful capture. It was also my second try ever(I make a point of not using SG's). It wasn't the time, it was the moment of success, then the lack of motivation for the rest of the day. It'll return tomorrow when I'm going to shoot for the Poison Drake.
